I got an email about this and couldn’t resist throwing up a quick blog about it. The Vitamix is my heart in the kitchen- and as you know, is the only piece of kitchen equipment I literally carry around the world with me. It will change your life, your health, your beauty. Truly the best blender for green smoothies!
Vitamix Special!
For a limited time, Vitamix is running a special on the Vitamix 5200, selling the factory reconditioned machines for $379.00. These guys only come on special every so often and they usually go fast and sell out! So if you’ve been really wanting one but have been hedging, now is the time!
If you click on the photo above, you’ll receive free standard shipping which is worth $25US/$35CN.
My schedule hasn’t slowed down any since I’ve gotten back! I’m being very organized (okay trying!) with the constant soaking and sprouting of various seeds and nuts- based on certain recipes I’m making the next day or in a few days.
What’s my favorite kitchen ingredient right now? Sundried tomatoes! I throw them in sauces, salads, dressings, as garnishes, etc. They taste like sun in a bite to me.
Well I’ll write more soon! Check out the Vitamix sale if you haven’t gotten one yet- you won’t regret. And have a wonderful and inspirational week!!
All my love,
Kimberly
hi!
since you wrote about your organizing with nuts and seeds for soaking, i have to ask you:
do you have any advice as of how to do this the easier and most organized way? is there any kind of “system” you use for doing this?
sometimes i feel that i don’t make as much stuff as i would like to just because i never have soaked or sprouted stuff ready to use.
any advice???
thank you!

Hi!
I cant seem to find it online–has anyone else located the reconditioned vitamix online?
I just ended up phoning the toll free number and ordering one through a rep instead of online. Also: the $379 quoted is for US customers only– not Canadian customers like me. Canadians end up paying $479 for a reconditioned machine, but such is life! :) I can’t wait to get mine.
Thanks for the heads up on the Vita-Mix. I gave mine to my daughter and then bought another one which I gave to my son. So I was waiting to save for another for me. This was a great deal!
Hi Kimberly,
Thanks for your inspiration. It has been such a positive force in my eating habits! I’ve incorporated so much more fresh into my life. I had a Vitamix for years and it was sitting in a cupboard not being used if you can imagine that. I pulled it out and finally started using it a bit, then came across your site and now I use it daily. I used to be hooked on cheese but strangely enough, when I started fresh greens in the Vitamix everyday, the cheese craving went away. Any idea why? I used to be able to eat easily a huge chunk of cheese just in one “standing in front of the fridge episode”. PS. I did get some Kyoto chlorella…I guess I expected them to be like crunching on tasty little morsels after reading you post about them, but I found them kinda icky. Maybe if I just keep eating them it’ll be okay — an acquired taste? Blech!
Bless,
Tracey
Hi Kim,
Thank you, I will totally try to buy it.
Thank you for the tip!
Mariel and me were talking about you….we miss you but we are happy for you working all over the World!!!
Thanks so much Kimberly! I literally just had a conversation with my parents on buying a Vitamix. They said, well, we’ll have to look around for cheaper ones first. Perfect Timing!
Any info on sprouting nuts and seeds? Maybe a table for soak times, etc.? I’m not sure what to do with them after they soak…they are soft and soggy/weird texture. Some people say to put them in a dehydrator (I don’t have one) and others say that ruins the whole idea of soaking & sprouting….
Any advice???
Thanks so much for posting this!
I just ordered one, soo excited! Have been wanting a Vitamix for awhile :) green smoothie cheers!
Wow Kim another nice post. Keep it up.
Hey Kimberly,
I was wondering how you travel with your vitamix (ie. suit case with clothes around it, or special carrying case)? I just received my vitamix on my doorstep a few days ago…right before I was leaving to go out of town. I finally got to try it out this evening. I’m in love! It’s amazing how well it purees everything (made the skin plumping and detox smoothies tonight). Can’t wait to make the green smoothie tomorrow and see how it does. Thanks for all the great information you provide!
Thanks Kim!! I am waiting for mine to arrive :) I had been thinking about one for a while but just couldn’t pull the trigger on the full price model. I really love your blog and am incorporating your advice and eating habits into my life (not just my diet.) I can’t wait to get my Vita-Mix!
Yay! Congrats on your new arriving baby!! Let me know how it goes when you get it. :)
Okay, I’ve had it a little over a week (it got here really fast)and I love it! I am learning what combinations of food go well together and it just makes the creamiest smoothies! I got primarily for breakfast smoothies (wow, yes green smoothies are good!) and have been using it for way more than that. It’s so easy for me to whip up a healthy smoothie after working out when I don’t feel like making (and eating) a salad too.
Hey,
How do you handle power conversion when traveling internationally with your vitamix? I’ve wanted one forever, but I tend to go back and forth from Europe to the US every couple years. I always figured a vitamix wouldn’t work well with a power converter. Please let me know because it’s been killing me not to have one, but since neither they or blendtec put out a dual power model I figured I’d never be able to own one because I’d have to throw down for two.
Thanks!
Cori
Hello,
I just ordered my Vitamix today, so the wait is on! I got the 48oz blender carafe instead of the 64oz size, It’s just me using it so I thought this size would be fine, but I started thinking with so much leafy green going in each recipe I hope I didn’t make a mistake by buying the smaller one!
Also it comes w/a recipe book so am I going to have to cut all the recipes in 1/2?
What are your thoughts?
Pamela
