Kimberly Reveals Weight Loss Secrets on Good Day LA

Good LA Host Jillian Barberie lost around 20 pounds of her post-pregnancy weight on The Beauty Detox Solution and her Glowing Green Smoothies (GGS). She used different variations, depending on what produce she had in her house. Check out the guidelines I provide here for optimal weight loss and benefits. It is interesting to note that she was unable to lose weight when she was juicing, which is what she was doing prior. Only when she switched from juices to the fiber-rich Glowing Green Smoothie, which kept her full for longer and cleansed out her system, was she able to drop the pounds.

I had a question about what Mag07 product you would recommend most? Where I live, none of the stores carry the product and since I have to order it off the internet either way, I was wondering if you could let me know which one you think is the best?

    Hi Kimberly,
It was great seeing you make the Green Smoothie on Good Day LA! I have been making it for my boyfriend for a while now. What exactly were your weight loss tips for Jillian Barberie? I am trying to lose 10-15 pounds and I am trying to incorporate Blossoming Beauty into my lifestyle to really get results. Do you have any additional tips to really see results?

I have to do Blossoming Beauty because I have yeast over growth and tend to be very sensitive and have yeast over growth often.

Love to know your thoughts on how to really get some results!

    Thanks
    Arianna

Probiotics are key, as is lemon water in the morning and keeping your mornings clear, and limiting animal products. Jillian also likes some of my dessert recipes, which are more easily digestible than regular desserts. xx

      Hi Gloria.
I’m Lin. The smoothie is called Glowing Green Smoothie. This is the recipe below. Its the best, you must try it. All thanks to Kim. It is really beneficial when you are trying to lose weight.

      Glowing Green Smoothie Recipe

      Ingredients (64 ounces / 2-4 servings):

1 ½- 2 cups very cold, filtered water
      6 cups spinach, chopped
5 cups organic romaine lettuce, chopped
      2 stalks of organic celery
1 organic apple, cored and chopped
1 organic pear, cored and chopped
      1 organic banana
1–2 Tbs. fresh organic lemon juice

      Optional Ingredients:

Ice cubes (the extra coldness can help newbies with the taste)
      1/2 cup of organic cilantro
      1/2 cup of organic parsley

      Directions:

Add water, spinach and chopped romaine to the blender. Starting the blender on a low speed; mix until smooth.
Gradually move to higher speeds and add the herbs, celery, pear, and apple. Add the banana and lemon juice last.

      Hope this is helpful.

Question. I have your book and I have been in phase 1 for approximately 1 week. I have recurring ear infections and take a lot of antibiotics. I have been dealing with Candida issues for over a year. Doctors say I don’t test positive for yeast infection, but my body says it does. I took diflucan for over 9 months. I have been told I need another surgery on my ear and that I need to not take any asprin, NSAIDs or any herbal supplements that may thin the blood. I am trying to follow your plan to the letter. I am taking 2 probiotics daily, an enzyme before lunch/dinner, and the magnesium Oxide at bedtime. Which by the way has been great because I am one that is always chronically constipated. ANd, recently I added chlorella tablets when I have been feeling a little extra hungry. I don’t know how to verifty if these supplements contain ingredients that will make the blood thin. Can you help out with this?

      Hi Karen,
Yes it is contested as to whether tests always reveal Candida. Blossoming Beauty is great to help reset the body. I would check w your doctor to make sure any supplements won’t have any adverse affect for your specific condition! xx

You can’t find it easily but its not impossible to find. Just search around stores.Click on this link and there are many supermarkets.

Hello, I have a question, I am very frustrated right now because I have an injury (ankle) which makes it very tough to do any weight bearing exercise and I want to lose only 10lbs to be at a normal weight, if I incorporate the green smoothie as the majority of my diet throughout the day would that help the body burn fat more efficiently even if I can not workout intensely?

        Dear Kimberly,

my weight is stuck no matter what I do. I’m adjusting to your program as much as I can, but I live in NYC and going out to dinner is a part of living here – I drink 16-20 oz of you GGS every morning and I eat mostly veggies all day long, sometimes I have miscombined meals at dinner when I’m with friends.
It’s unrealistic for me to be on the BDS a 100% but I really do my best to keep going.
Can’t remember if this is my 2nd or 3rd week now and NO results.
I’m so sad that nothing is happening. I’ve always wanted to lose weight without restricting myself on lame diets, but my stomach has always been a problem, quite bloated at night and so on. I’m a little backed up since I began adding so many veggies to my diet.

What can I do? Should I keep going or go back to normal and just quit losing weight altogether? Yesterday my stomach finally felt good and eliminated what had been backed up and I felt slim and healthy, but today it’s a mess again and I feel hopeless.

        I desperately need advice.

        Thank you.

        xx O

    HI Kimberly,

I love your book! I’ve been following Radiant Beauty for two weeks now for skin and hair benefits. I also wanted to counteract a bad bout of antibiotics I was on for 6 months that have affected the absorption on nutrients in my large intestine. I am an active 10 Kilometer runner and did not want to lose weight but since starting the diet I’ve lost about pounds and feel I am too skinny. I am worried about a long run as I don’t want to lose anymore weight. I am just under 5 foot 3 and now weigh 110 pounds. Any suggestions of pairings that would help me gain some healthy weight and fuel my running?

My skin IS clearer already and I feel great. I love the GGS!

    Much thanks.

Hi Kim, I always love watching your TV appearances.

I have a couple of questions about products that are appropriate for your programs. First, have you tried the yeast-free brown rice bread from the Ener-G brand? I saw it in a store and thought about getting it, but I wasn’t sure if it is a good choice. I have candida, so I’m concerned about the yeast in other gluten-free breads like Food for Life’s millet bread and that’s why I considered this one.

Also, I can’t afford to buy or make raw almond butter or other nut butters for that matter. Is it okay to consume almond butter made from roasted almonds? I’ve also seen “raw” almond butter at Trader Joe’s which I assume has been pasteurized since its super cheap and unrefrigerated. Would roasted almond butter or pasteurized almond butter be a better choice (if you had to choose.) I miss peanut butter sandwiches so I was hoping to make almond butter sandwiches!

    Thank you in advance!!

Hi Cristi! the Ener-G brand is pretty good and especially given the Candida issue.
The not-so raw “raw” almond butter works okay, but since we know it’s not really raw, if there is a comparably priced pasteurized one that is organic I would go with that one. xx

    Hi Kim!
I am a total believer in the GGS, but my problem is I work out early in the morning-about 430 am-and I am not sure what to do for eating. I want to have enough protein to make the workouts worth it (p90x) but want to have the GGS around 10 or so. I know chia seeds are the best for before/after a workout, so how can I incorporate them into my workout routine? Are they enough protein after my intense workout? Please help!! I want to get this right as it is an everyday thing.

    Thank you!!

      Hi Jaymee,
There are amino acids in greens, and the GGS is what I personally drink after yoga. But if you are doing an intense workout and want more dense protein you can alter your lifestyle, and have the chia seed smoothie afterwards, have a lighter non-animal protein filled lunch, then have your GGS mid-afternoon. See which one works best for you.

Hi Kimberly! Thanks so much for this reminder on the importance of the GGS! I bought your book about six months ago and have made major changes in my diet! It’s been wonderful!

About two months ago, I started juicing in the morning instead of having a GGS, but after watching this yesterday I started my morning with a GGS. It was amazing how having the fiber in the smoothie cleansed my digestive system! I’m going to start having a GGS in the mornings again instead of juice.

    Thanks again! You are fabulous!

I have been doing the GGS for two weeks and I LOVE it! I am trying to lose weight and I have a bit of a sweet tooth. Is there anything you recommend I snack on or something to help with the cravings?

Also, what do you think about air popped popcorn with no fat?

    Thanks so much!

Hi Kimberly- I started the GGS in the mornings. My goal is to drink batches of it throughout the day, however my hunger pangs are pretty persistent. Can you suggest adding something more to my smoothie to sustain me for a longer period? My usual glass is about 6 ounces. I am trying to shed weight. Thanks!

Increase the first serving in the morning of the GGS to 16 to 24 ounces and if you are still hungry before lunch you can

have one cup dairy free oatmeal with water.

    Hi,

Can you buy your books on iBooks on the iPad or download it anywhere? I went to my local book store here o. The U.K and they do not have it.
Also I am wanting to lose some weight quick. Is it ok to replace all my meals for a few days with the glowing green smoothie for a dramatic weight loss?

    Hi Kimberly!
I would like to start your green smoothie but would like to know if its safe to drink while breastfeeding. I have a 3month old baby and wouldn’t want to mess with my milk supply thanks!

Dear Kim, I just bought your book “The Beauty Detox Solution”. I am almost done reading it. I have a lot of weight to lose (40 pounds) and I know this is a life style change. Which phase do you recomment I start with and for how long?

Hey Kimberly! I finally invested in a Vitamix! I LOVE it – wish I had gotten one years ago! Making the Glowing Green Smoothie is so much faster and easier now, and the texture is infinitely better. The only thing is – I was surprised at how big the base of the Vitamix is in comparison to my clunky old blender. I know you travel around with yours quite a bit and I was curious to know how you pack it and carry it around with you. (I’m asking because I’m not sure I can live without mine now, and I just might want to take it with me next time I go on a long trip!)

Thanks so much for all of your wisdom and good energy!

Started the Beauty Detox on Nov 19, 2011, have stayed with it through the holidays and have lost 27 lbs as of today. Wish I could go meet Kimberly today in the OC but have to work.
    Thanks for the wonderful book.
