The Beauty Food Pairing Cheat Sheet! (INFOGRAPHIC)

I am so excited to talk more with you about this staple in the Beauty Detox Lifestyle.

I know many of you have asked me questions about Beauty Food Pairing which I first introduced in The Beauty Detox Solution. I created this lovely infographic for you so you can keep it handy whenever you are in doubt about your Beauty Food Pairing. =)

I talk about this topic in extensive detail in my first book The Beauty Detox Solution. I can’t stress enough the importance of understanding how our body processes the food we eat.

That step is essential for optimal health and well being. I created this cheat sheet to help you remember which foods pair best together so that you don’t waste precious excess Beauty Energy trying to digest your meals.

Before we get to the infographic here is a quick Beauty Detox Recap

  • More Energy = More Beauty
  • The real cause of aging is acidic sludge in the body, which constantly impedes energy. Ongoing cleansing, which includes consuming cleansing foods, is the way to clean out the sludge. As you clean out the sludge/toxicity, oxygen opens up in your body, and you will assimilate nutrition better.
  • Certain foods and combination of foods digest more easily then others, taking up less Beauty Energy. Freeing up energy from digestion is the single most important way to redirect large amounts of energy to make weight loss efficient and fight aging.

Still not sure? Here is a Beauty Tip for Good Beauty Food Pairing Dishes when just starting The Beauty Detox Lifestyle:

Even if you aren’t yet eating according to the Beauty Detox Principles, you can still benefit from Beauty Food Pairing. These examples are to show that ALL of us, no matter what kind of diet we are currently eating, can start practicing Beauty Food Pairing right now.

  • Avocado sushi rolls
  • Grilled fish on a bed of mesclun greens
  • Guacamole with salad and corn chips
  • Steak with slightly sauteed or steamed spinach
  • Bagel with organic butter
  • Apple, followed by scrambled eggs twenty minutes later
  • Baked chicken with broccoli
  • Pasta primavera

If you are well into the Beauty Detox Lifestyle here are a few suggestions for you!

  • Sweet potatoes and a mix of vegetables
  • Tempeh on a bed of greens with sauteed vegetables
  • Quinoa, Avocado and Corn Salad Recipe
  • My Vegan and Gluten Free Mac and Cheese paired with a large side salad

I hope this post reminds you of how important not only the food we consume is but also how we pair what we eat as well!

Love and Gratitude,

Kimberly

Thanks for this! Had a quick question – what are the protein pictures reflected in picture # 4. Thanks!

The protein source in the image is Tempeh! 🙂

    Hi Kimberly,

when food pairing: what are lentils considered? Protein or starch? Do we characterize beans as protein too?

    Thank you 🙂

    Hi Kimberly,
If I’m still belching up my dinner 3 hours + after eating, can I take your digestive enzyme capsule at that time to help digest my meal?

Hi Peyton – give it a try and see how your body reacts. If it does well, then you know this would be a great time for you personally. Let us know how you do and lots of love to you! 😉

Hi Kim, it would be great if you could label the foods in the pictures as it’s not always obvious what foods they are. Love what you’re doing and I’ve pre ordered your book from the Bookdepository.

Thanks so much Elizabeth, for checking out my post and for ordering my book. I’m hoping you’ll love it just as much as I do. I have given your suggestion on labeling the foods in pictures to my Project Manager in hopes this can be implemented in the near future. So much love to you and keep up the great work! 😉

Excellent infographic. I myself had great results with food pairing, sometimes with unusual but delicious combinations such as walnuts and raspberries, Greek yogurt and sweet potatoes or salmon and asparagus and many more. The most important thing was for me to always keep proteins and starchy foods separate.

Hi Kimberly. Is this a good pairing? chickpea flour and water cooked into a crepe. Suppose to resemble eggs. I am vegan.
Served on gluten free bread with avocado and tomatoe slices. Reading your books and just starting food combining. Dont know if
chickpea flour is a starch or protein? Thanks for the help.

Hi Karen! That’s a great question – chickpea flour is on the starchier end, so it can be classified as a starch and should combine well with your veggies/avocado. Above all, I’m all about listening to your body and keeping things simple. If you feel great and have energy after you eat that meal, then that’s a great sign! If you feel tired after the meal, it could be more difficult for your body to digest and you might benefit from simplifying the recipe. Hope that helps! xx

Hi, im struggling with bloating for so long thats why your knowledge inspires me and I would love to test it.
Normally my day starts with yogurts, fruits and nuts but you suggested to eat the fruits alone. What should I eat with jogurt? In the post above you answered veggies. I can’t imagine to eat jogurt with veggies 🙂 Thank you so much for your help

Hi Beauty! Eating fruit alone is best to avoid bloating, so I recommend beginning your day with fruit, followed by yogurt alone 30 minutes later or whenever you’re hungry. Dairy has been shown to increase bloating, so if your yogurt is dairy-based, that might be contributing to your bloating experience. Above all, I think it’s most important to listen to your body and do what makes you feel good. Happy Beauty Food Pairing!

One of my go to snacks is an apple w/ almond butter. Is that okay to pair together?

Hi Beauty! To follow Beauty Food Pairing, it’s best to eat apples alone on an empty stomach for optimal digestion and absorption. When you combine apples with almond butter, it takes more energy and slows down digestion, which can potentially cause bloating. At the end of the day, every body is different, so I recommend listening to your body and doing what feels best for you! Sending you lots of love xx

Hi Rose! Starches are considered carbs (except fruit which is its own category), so you can see in the infographic that they pair best with veggies, protein, fats and other starches. Hope that’s helpful! xx

Hi Chin! Yes, that’s right, it’s recommended to avoid combining starches and protein as you can see from the infographic 🙂 My philosophy is that simple is best, to allow for the easiest digestion and assimilation of nutrients. Thanks for checking out this post! xx
