We’re back with Tony and I this week as we discuss a heavily talked about topic in not only the plant-based world but in our society in general today…protein! Today we delve into the truth about protein and everything you need to know to feel and look your best! We discuss all things protein-related and how it became the mainstream, go-to macronutrient in American diets believed to do everything from help us lose weight to give us energy.
But can you overdo protein?! (Hint…it’s a big huge YES!). We discuss how exceeding the minimum requirement of protein, which is very common in the Western diet, can lead to very aging and detrimental health effects. Finally, Tony and I discuss how the Beauty Detox Lifestyle provides more than enough protein to keep us healthy, toned and beautiful.
Next, my very special guest is Jen Gonzalez, who is a respected colon hydrotherapist. We talk candidly about poop and what colonics can do for you. We cover many frequently asked questions when it comes to this service. We also discuss how colon hydrotherapy could be potentially a really great tool for enhanced detoxification if (and that’s a big if!) administered properly by the right therapist and approached in the right way.
Jen also discusses how she got into colon cleansing and why she is so passionate about it. Jen shares information about her website, the “Doody-Free Girl”. She has locations in New York City and northern New Jersey.

Jen Gonzalez Interview:
In love and health,

Hi Kim!
I want to start up with colonics so badly, but I am concerned that most practitioners don’t use disposable tubing, even if sterilized with autoclaves, it still seems like there would be a risk, being that there is the same tube for the…in and out so to speak.
Do you think a 110% guarantee can be made about no cross contamination with the tubes?
Hi Emily and thank you for your great question. I strongly encourage you to research where you get your colonics done and try to read any reviews to ensure it is a clean, sanitary and a reputable business. Don’t hesitate to ask them these questions personally, as well. If they are reputable, they will have no problem answering these questions for you. Their goal should be to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Let me know how it goes and how you feel afterwards. Sending lots of love! ;)
Hello Kimberly! I don’t expect you’ll remember, but we met when your shop first opened on Melrose – I’ve hung out with Jen Gonzalez as well in NYC!
In case you haven’t tried her yet, just wanted to suggest Eleni at Wellness Within in Woodland Hills – high quality, gravity colonics. She’s fantastic!
Love,
Jen Bloom x
Hi Jen! Thank you so much for the information. Have a great day. Love, Kim
