Simple Radish Salad – The Secret Skin Beauty Food

So guess what is in season now?? The amazing, but super humble RADISH. You can pick up organic bunches of radishes at the farmer’s market or at the grocery store for like $1.50/bunch. So now that they are season, I highly recommend making them a weekly staple in your food rotation.

Here’s why radishes are so beautifying- and possibly one of the most exciting food items for you to seek out!! : They are high in sulfur, silica, and Vitamin C. In fact, radishes are the only common food high in both of the beauty minerals sulfur and silica- and one of the best vegetable sources of Vitamin C. So the sulfur, silica and Vitamin C work synergistically to make your skin glow and help with healthy connective tissue formation.

Radishes are also amazing mucus dissolvers! They will detox your system from the mucus especially formed from eating starchy carbs (that bread you had at the Italian restaurant! That rice you had at the Chinese lunch! and maybe that bagel that slipped in for breakfast the other day!!!), and  stimulate your liver, increase bile flow, and cleanse your system…which will also help with your skin radiance. 🙂 And we ALL love that!!

Radishes also contain Raphanin, a substance to help balance thyroid hormones, to help keep you at your perfect, beautiful weight. Yay! Bring it on,we All love that too!

Tips on picking Radishes:
–    Red radishes are the best because they have the most silica
–    Make sure they are crisp and super fresh- no flimsy, soft, soggy radishes going in the cart!!!!

So I usually slice them up and throw them in any salad I am making. But sometimes I make this Simple Radish Salad:

Take care.

Love you guys,
Kimberly

    Hi Kimberly,
The more I read your blogs and see your pictures, the more obvious what a rewarding life you have. 🙂 You are very passionate and disciplined in what you do and it shows. I am glad that I tried The Solution and I enjoy it. The only issue is the price. When I went to re-order The Solution, I was looking forward to the discount in having two be shipped instead of the one. Now you don’t apparently offer the discount as of now. Could you possibly consider offering that again to your customers since money this days is precious? I view your product as something well spent, but since it is little in ounce wise, I would admire you even more if you offered the discount again. 🙂 You would have a lot of happy customers either new buying your product, or one’s buying your product since day one and re-order. Please consider this since I love your product and don’t want to discontinue buying it because of the price. Another question I wanted to ask too is, have you thought about increasing the ounce size of your product? Maybe if the ounce size would be a little bigger, the price would make up for it. Thank you for reading my comment. I hope to hear back from you.

      Hi Lindsey!
Thanks so much for reaching out and emailing me. I am very blessed to be living the life that I have chosen to create around my passions, and it is my goal to help as many women and people as possible feel their absolute healthiest and best, and share the love. 🙂

Now a few things about The Solution: One ounce is the standard size for any high-end, concentrated, premier product. The Solution is meant to replace a day cream, night cream, eye cream, makeup primer, and pre-makeup base. We could EASILY sell these 5 different products by spreading the active ingredients in our one product- but you’ll notice that we only sell 1 product. I believe that instead of making people feel that they need to buy all those different items, it is the best to give someone one quality, highly effective product. That way, the skin can still breathe and get all the nutrition it needs.

Having worked at one of the largest beauty companies in the world, with many mass and high-end skincare lines underneath that umbella, I am very familiar with the way that most large (and small too!) skincare companies work: With the bottom line in mind, they focus on spreading the ingredients into as many moisturizing products as possible, so you indeed do have to buy many, many products. And the tiny percentages of active ingredients placed in whole vats of products in most of those brands are not really going to help anyone’s face look any better!!!

So we have chose to go a different route. We are going to have a whole line of skincare, which will include cleansers, etc., but we created The Solution to be so potent and concentrated that we have forgone selling 5 different moisturizing products- which of course would be much more financially beneficial to us. In one ounce, our formula is so concentrated and has such a high percentage of active ingredients that you will notice a difference, and the longer you use it the better your skin will look- and you don’t need to use much.

We had the 2 for 1 sale up for a while, to get people to try it, then we took it down. Then the economy went bad, so we put it back up for a few months, to help out but now we do have to take it down. Please understand that we are working to give people the best products and info., and selling at full price, with how expensive our formula is to produce, we are NOT even making the full recommended, calculated markup of a cosmetic product. So when we sell it at 2 for 1, we are not really making hardly anything. We are a company- a business-that needs to survive also!!!!! Plus we are only asking you to buy ONE product- if you look at it that way, it really isn’t very expensive. Most people spend a lot on eye creams, then moisturizers, then buy serums, etc.

I truly stand behind The Solution and believe that it is worth every penny, and that when you use it you are giving your skin the best possible nutrition.
As The Brightening Cleanser launches, and in the near future, we will also put back up some exciting new sales.
Please let me know any other concerns you have.
      All my very best,
      Kimberly

    Hi there,

Your site has so many great recipes that I absolutely love. I was wondering if you could write a post about food combining. I’ve read in several raw food books that fruit should be eaten separately from everything else, but then these same books contain recipes in which fruit is combined with nuts, etc. Do dried fruits behave differently than fresh fruits? I find it all to be very confusing…

Anyway, keep up the great work….
    Thanks,
    Carley

      Hi Carley,
Yes, fresh fruits do behave differently and digest differently than dried fruit. Fresh fruit should never be eaten with or after cooked food, but it combines well with greens, so it is okay to put it on salads (as long as the salads don’t have dried fruit or nuts!) Eek.! I know it is a bit confusing!
I will write a post on it sometime-it can get complicated but understanding the basics is what is most important.
      All my very best, Kimberly

I’m new to the health food scene, and I was wondering if altering my diet will have any effect on existing skin damage/wrinkles, or just prevent new damage.

I saw these radishes that was being sold at the farmers market in Manhattan, NY- not the Union Square one! You were right on target with it being 1.50. I was thinking that was really great but decided that I would rather buy some chili peppers and a bunch of yellow carrots. Next time, I’ll pick this beauty food up. I had no idea how good it was until I read your blog. Thanks!

    Your 2nd paragraph says ”
They are high in sulfur, silicon […]”: I guess you meant “silica” there :)))
