Today’s featured smoothie is my Tummy Ease Smoothie! Over time, we may face toxic buildup in our intestines, which can affect our overall health and beauty, and sometimes cause our tummies to act up. I decided to create an easy and delicious recipe, using this sweet fruit of the tropics- Papaya!
Fruit is one of the most life-enhancing foods we can put into our bodies. It has the highest water content compared to any of the food groups and supplies us with vital amino acids, minerals, vitamins and fatty acids. Because fruit breaks down the fastest in our system, while leaving no toxic residue, it supplies us with readily available energy that can be used for immediate fuel. This is why I stress the concept of eating light to heavy in my first book The Beauty Detox Solution, so that you do not slow down the digestive process.
So why eat this tropical fruit…?
Health Benefits Of The Sunlit Papaya
Papayas offer a luscious taste with the rich sources of antioxidant nutrients such as carotenes, vitamin C and flavonoids; the B vitamins, folate and pantothenic acid; and the minerals, potassium, copper, and magnesium; and fiber!
Together, these nutrients promote the health of the cardiovascular system and also provide protection against colon cancer. In addition, papaya contains the digestive enzyme, papain, which is used like bromelain, a similar enzyme found in pineapple, to treat sports injuries, other causes of trauma, and allergies. The papain in papayas also helps cleanse the skin, contributing to a beautiful and glowing complexion.
Why Hemp Milk?
Hemp milk is an incredibly nutritious and tasty alternative to cow’s milk, as it supplies the body with essential nutrients without the harm that dairy causes to the body. For some, it is an ethical choice to not drink animal milk, for others it is an intolerance. Others choose to avoid it for reasons of making healthier choices, while still others drink it for the nutritional benefits (and the taste!).
The hemp plant, including its seeds, offers a powerful punch when it comes to nutrition. In a single 8-ounce glass of hemp milk, you can find a list of nutrients, some of which are 900mg omega-3 fatty acid, 2800mg omega-6 fatty acid and all 10 essential amino acids. In addition, you will receive the benefits of a strengthened immune system, clear healthy skin, hair and nails and improved circulation.
Another thing to consider is that hemp protein does not contain oligosaccharides, which are complex sugars that can cause flatulence if not properly broken down during digestion. And what Beauty doesn’t want help with that?
Get dicing and ease your pain! ;)
