If you are a citrus lover then you’ve come to the right place. MyĀ Citrus Sunset Smoothie Recipe is packed with the wonderful world of citrus-y fruits. From orange to lemon and limes and last but not least, grapefruit.

Top it all off with mango and banana and you’ve got yourself a glassful of antioxidants and a LOT of vitamin C that will neutralize free radicals—keeping you healthy and strong from the inside out!

Let’s talk about this diverse group of fruit…

Citrus Fruits

Citrus fruits include oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruits, and let’s not forget tangerines and pomelos. Delicious and refreshing, they’re an all-star beauty food because they contain compounds called flavonoids (antioxidants that can neutralize free radicals).

Citrus fruits are high in vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant and protects the body from damaging free radicals. These fruits are also a good source of folate and thiamin — which helps wounds heal and helps hold blood vessels, tendons, ligaments and bone together. What more can we ask from these Beauty Foods? :)

Grapefruit is actually listed under my high mineral-containing fruits list in The Beauty Detox Solution because it is one of the strongest cleansers (dissolving toxic substances and cleansing our tissues and system).
