It’s time to get our pucker on with this amazingly delicious new smoothie—my Tangy Key Lime Smoothie Recipe. With more holiday eating around the corner, it’s a great time to give our immune system a boost and our guts a healthy dose of love.
Packed with fruits I love, plus the juice from the zesty lime, you’ll be wide awake to handle the rest of your holiday shopping!
So what is so great about…
Limes?
Well, you know how much I love my lemons, and just like those yellow-fellows (that really are a true Beauty Detox Food staple we can not live without!), limes have loads of vitamin C and enzymes, and cleansing properties.
Why do we need to practice ongoing cleansing do you ask? Because exogenous toxins, or those coming from the outer environment- from air pollution, contaminants in the food and water supply, etc. are constantly being assailed upon us.
And even if somehow you lived in a little bubble and had no exogenous toxins coming your way (which is pretty much impossible in today’s world!), there are all those endogenous toxins, which are the ones created internally from the natural bi-products of metabolism and cell renewal!
The more we can help support your body’s own natural cleansing properties, the better.
Why care so much about the liver, you ask? Because the liver is our main fat-burning organ. So by adding this recipe to your weekly routine, you’re giving this precious organ it’s own shot of energy to keep things moving and flowing, the way nature intended.

What a great afternoon snack for adults and kids alike. As adults, we don’t want the added weight gain that the holidays can bring, and we want our kiddos to stay as healthy as can be (with all the viruses that are prevalent this time of year- we have to focus internally on boosting our own immunity!). Add this smoothie to their school thermos to keep the crazy sugar rushes at bay, too!
