“I have taken probiotics before being an avid gut health enthusiast but NONE come close to Kimberly's SBO Probiotics! I truly feel beautiful from the inside and out.”
It’s November and the chilly weather is definitely in the air. So why not curl up with something sweet, and with a little heat?! Your cravings will be totally satisfied with my Spicy Beauty Chocolate Truffle Recipe, which is loaded with immunity-boosting chili and energy-opening cacao—you’re sure to see some heat on those cheeks! ;)
Why the heat?
Ancho Chiles
If you’re not an avid user of ancho chiles, here’s a little bit of history. Ancho chiles are a type of dried chile pepper that is commonly used in Mexican and Southwestern U.S. cuisine. It’s the dried version (of the ripe version) of the poblano pepper.
When the poblano is allowed to ripen, they will turn red and develop additional sweetness. This sweetness helps to balance out their mild heat. So to be clear—anchos are red while poblanos are green. Drying poblanos is done for the purpose of preserving them and can be reconstituted by soaking them in warm water. They can also be ground up or crushed, and added to your recipes, such as this one, where I’m using the powdered form.
These peppers fight inflammation, clear congestion and boost immunity, among many other things. Chili peppers are also an excellent source of vitamin A (in the form of beta-carotene).
Ancho Chile Powder is a fun and spicy ingredient to add to all kinds of things, like your soups, salad dressings, and marinades—so why not desserts too?? This pepper will give any chocolate-y dessert or drink a bit of heat!
Add your vanilla, coconut oil and coconut nectar, stirring until fully combined.
Take a small amount of the mixture, and roll small balls between your palms. Dip each ball in a separate smaller bowl containing the coconut flakes.
Freeze overnight to harden the truffles. I keep them frozen until they are ready to serve.
Now that you know what these truffles can do for your overall health and emotional well-being, it’s time to get those hands gooed up with yummy goodness, and start rolling!
Make these for your friends and family…
