Valentineās Day is a great opportunity to focus on self love. Self nourishment and self love help pave the pathway to attractĀ more love and abundance in all areas of life! Itās absolutely true.
What is so great about it is that WE are in control of it! With a little effort and attention to it, I think youāll really start to notice the difference as far as what I am talking about.
So hereās a great- and delicious!- tool for loving yourself, my Pitaya Sweetheart Smoothie Recipe! Color is a powerful way to nourish your senses and the brilliant magenta color of the pitaya does just that, and clues us in on the incredible antioxidant power it contains.
The cacao helps boost you feeling great as well. And you know what? You deserve to feel great!!!
Power Fruit: Pitaya (aka Dragon Fruit)
In the past you may have heard me share my thoughts on what the term āsuper foodā mean to me. To recap, such foods do not have to be expensive or rare or difficult to find. Rather, in my definition, are in abundance all around the planet.
They are foods that have powerful and truly nourishing qualities for our health, energy and beauty in numerous ways. And so in that way you can see that lemons, broccoli and kale are super foods in my book.
Pitaya, which is also called Dragon Fruit, is definitely a super food. It is high in magnesium, iron, antioxidants and fiber (you know what a big fan of proper cleansing I am!), and is naturally low in sugar.
Magnesium is important for our energy and helps with beauty sleep, which helps with regeneration of our cells and organs, including helping to build beautiful skin. Iron helps oxygenate our entire systems. You can learn more about the pitaya fruit here.
If you need an extra bit of help in the cleansing department, you may want to check this out!
And the crunchy little seeds within the pitaya are said to help promote better, more efficient digestion.

Prepare all ingredients.

Add your frozen pitaya (which you can find in the frozen fruit section at many health markets).

Then, add the frozen raspberries.

Next, add the frozen strawberries.

Pour in the unsweetened almond milk.

Add the dates (or, coconut nectar). Starting the blender on a low speed, blend until smooth. If needed gradually increase to higher speeds and blend until smooth.

Top with dark chocolate shavings. Enjoy!
This Valentineās Day, be sure to try this smoothie and nourish your entire body and being. You are already pure love, and itās time to spend a little time really honoring that within yourself.
Letās get preppingā¦.
Note: While this recipe calls for frozen, feel free to use fresh if you can ever find itā¦some markets and Asian markets definitely do carry Dragon Fruit. This goes for all of the fruits in this recipe. Just remember, the texture will be different depending on what you choose to use.
As always, happy blending Beauties, and keep this recipe handy for when youāre having that sweet craving. Add it to your Pinterest Smoothie board!
Sending you all my love for this Valentineās Day!!!
