Orange Mango Creamsicle Smoothie

When I was a little kid I used to love the taste of a good 50/50 bar. The combination of the orange flavor with the creamy ice cream was the perfect match up! But all that processed sugar and chemically filled dairy is certainly not on my list these days, nor should it be on yours. Enter the inspiration for my Orange Mango Creamsicle Smoothie.

This smoothie is creamy and delicious and reminds me of that childhood treat. Plus it’s loaded with vitamin C, healthy nourishing beauty fats and loads of antioxidants, so you can feel good sharing it with your entire family.

When to Enjoy an Orange Mango Creamsicle Smoothie

Let me start off by reminding you that this smoothie is best enjoyed on an empty stomach for optimal digestion. You won’t want to sub this out with for your morning Glowing Green Smoothie.

The GGS is packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber and high-quality amino acids, which help build protein. It all works synergistically to prevent and repair damage in your body and boost rejuvenation. So you look and feel your most amazing!

Treat yourself to my Orange Mango Creamsicle Smoothie late morning or mid-afternoon. Its sweet and luscious flavor contains an abundance of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that aid in providing you with optimum health and beauty! The Boundless Benefits of Oranges and Mangos

Oranges and mangos are two of the juiciest fruits, which makes them uber hydrating! When we keep our bodies hydrated, we keep things moving internally and externally, and therefore, keep our skin glowing too! Hydration is also key for keeping our energy levels on high.

And do you know what else boost our energy reserves? Fiber! Lucky for us, both oranges and mangos are an excellent source of dietary fiber. By simply treating yourself to my Orange Mango Creamsicle Smoothie, you are fueling up with 25% of your daily fiber needs! How sweet is that?! 🙂

Let’s not forget, these bright orange and yellow fruits both contain amazing sources of vitamin C. And they contain beta carotene, a natural antioxidant used by the body to make vitamin A. It’s important to mention they do have naturally occurring fructose, but this is outweighed when we consider their high antioxidant content and vitamin C.

The high amounts of antioxidants and vitamin C in my Orange Mango Creamsicle Smoothie fill your body with a powerful boost! Which means it gives your body the tools it needs to neutralize free radicals and help fight against premature aging. Your Creamy Coconut Dairy-Free Alternative

The creamy coconut comes in an array of forms, making it one of my favorite dairy-free alternatives. As you’ll see my Orange Mango Creamsicle Smoothie recipe uses coconut yogurt, but I love coconut in all of its fashion!

When you are looking for a good coconut yogurt for this recipe let me suggest a brand called So Delicious. It is dairy-free and soy-free, and it tastes pretty good. There are no scary artificial sweeteners or agave in it, thank heavens and it is a great source of calcium 🙂

Coconut and coconut yogurt has some key nutrients, such as potassium and magnesium. Potassium is an electrolyte that helps to facilitate cellular cleansing and is about twice as concentrated in coconut water, as in a banana. It helps to regulate the fluid levels inside our cells. Which means it balances high amounts of puffiness, helping you feel more radiant than ever!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 orange peeled
  • 1 cup of mango
  • 3/4 cup of unsweetened vanilla coconut yogurt
  • 1 frozen ripe banana
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Blend orange, mango, coconut yogurt, banana, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour in your favorite glass and enjoy!

    This looks delicious! Just wondering about the principle of not combining fruit with protein. How does the combination of fruit and coconut yogurt or coconut milk work?

      Hi Helene, thanks for checking out this recipe. You can use an almond-based or cashew-based yogurt, if you’re not allergic to those.
