Dreaming of jetting off to a tropical paradise this season? Just one sip of my new Tropical Maca Smoothie recipe and you will instantly feel like you are drifting off into a land of luxury. Exotically sweet and perfectly creamy, this smoothie comes brimming with beauty-boosting and stress-reducing ingredients. Let this Tropical Maca Smoothie recipe take you away on that vacation you so definitely deserve Beauty! With just a few simple ingredients, you can have this on hand all season long.
Outstanding Oranges
To kick off this Tropical Maca Smoothie, start by peeling a large orange and throwing it into your blender. With its sweet juicy flavor, this fruit is a great one to have on hand all year long. It’s outstanding that it travels well, making it a wonderful go-to snack when you are in a rush. Believe it or not, just this one orange you’ll be using in today’s Tropical Maca Smoothie recipe will provide you with 75% of your daily vitamin C needs. Immunity boost anyone? Yes, please!
Oranges also supply us with ample amounts of fiber. In nature, fruits contain both juice and fiber. This combination helps keep your body feeling fuller throughout the day. It also works as a cleanser for our bodies. Fiber helps push toxic substances along, which then gives our bodies the chance they so deserve to shine and glow.
Speaking of glowing skin, have you had the chance to try out my feel good asc2p vitamin C serum? This potent vitamin c serum boasts up to 10x more active vitamin c with Asc2P, a more stable and powerful antioxidant boosting benefit. It deeply penetrates the skin’s surface and effectively aids in the repair and rejuvenation of skin cells damaged by harmful free radicals found in our everyday environment. Our super vitamin-rich formula also packs a punch with a blend of Hyaluronic Acid, Licorice Root and anti-inflammatory natural hydrosols offering anti-aging and curative benefits. Vegan skincare never felt so good!
Mighty Mangos
Next up in the blender it’s time for you to add in mango. This Tropical Maca Smoothie recipe becomes so luscious and creamy thanks to mango. And aren’t we so lucky that we can find mangos available all year long? The many varieties of mangos found in the U.S. primarily grow in beautiful Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Nicaragua, and Haiti.
You can use any variety of mango you find to make this recipe taste good. Just make sure that it is truly ripe! When choosing a ripe mango, don’t focus on color. The best way to tell if your mango is ripe is to give it a gentle squeeze. A ripe mango will give slightly. To help your mango ripen up at home, store it at room temperature. You can even speed up the process by placing it in a brown paper bag at room temperature for two days!
Keep a few on hand because this fruit contains an abundance of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that provide you with optimum health and beauty! Just one cup of mangos provides you with 100% of your daily vitamin C needs. It also gives you 35% of your vitamin A! And these two vitamins are so important for our health and our beauty, particularly immune function. They help boost our immune function and help keep our organs in amazing condition. Mangos contain no cholesterol, sodium or fat and are relatively low in calories only 100 calories per cup (not that we are counting, but worth noting)!
They are also an excellent source of dietary fiber. Mangos are rich in minerals, like magnesium, potassium, and copper. These powerful antioxidants have the power to neutralize free radicals throughout the body, which will help to fight against premature aging.
Powerful Pineapple
Of course, no tropical vacation is complete without a little pineapple. Not only does pineapple bring the flavor-forward in this Tropical Maca Smoothie, but it also brings the beauty benefits to the next level.
We all deserve to treat ourselves with a new beauty routine from time to time. Have you tried out my feel good moisturizer? Formulated with carefully selected plant-based natural ingredients, feel good moisturizer is the ultimate secret weapon in your beauty arsenal.
Potent natural moisturizers paired with antioxidant-rich organic hydrosols leave the skin feeling supple and refreshed while a botanical alternative to Retinol helps to reduce and prevent wrinkles. Repair existing skin damage and help prevent oxidative damage with plant-based Stem Cell Extracts. Vegan skincare has never felt this good!
Packed with bromelain and hydration powers, pineapple is top of my list for supporting our beauty routine even further. Pineapple’s bromelain enzyme helps in improving circulation and reducing mucus. These are key components to ongoing cleansing and detoxification, which ultimately helps keep skin feeling so soft and glowing so strong.
What’s also amazing is that this smoothie works on inflammation too. Again, thank you to our new best friend, bromelain. These anti-inflammatory properties can help minimize pain in our joints and reduce the onset of aging.
Skintastic Strawberries
Now just when you’re thinking how can this smoothie get any better, there is another fruit you want to add the blender. Say hello to one of our skin’s favorite fruits, strawberries. One way to really brighten up your skin is to enjoy strawberries at their ripest! With their trifecta of rich beauty ingredients, this fruit has all we need to shine. Coming in hot with salicylic acid, vitamin C, and antioxidants, strawberries can help remove dead skin cells and encourage new cell growth. So it should be no surprise now why I love them so much!
Who knew sipping on this Tropical Maca Smoothie would also be like giving yourself a little mini facial. Well, Beauties it is, and the list of benefits from this smoothie continues to get even better. Thank strawberries for helping boost your collagen and overall creating smoother skin. Even more, strawberries have an amazing way of keeping blemishes at bay. They are linked to clearing up acne and reducing oil buildup. Sip away in paradise and let your skin glow as it was made to do!
And to take it one step further, why not give your digestive system the boost it so deserves? My Feel Good Digestive Enzymes break down stubborn macronutrients in your food like protein, carbs and fat. Reduce gas and bloating, and improve nutrient absorption to boost immunity, health and wellness. Why spend more on healthy and organic food if your body doesn’t reap the benefits? Adding this digestive enzyme supplement to your daily practice helps to ensure you will get the most out of every meal and is essential to your digestive system and wellness.
Cooling Coconut Water
Now one thing we must always continue to remember is to stay hydrated. My Tropical Maca Smoothie recipe calls for coconut water for that specific reason. This fruit is one of the best natural hydrators there is. Plus coconut water contains potassium. In fact, one cup of coconut water contains 600 mg, that’s more than one banana. Potassium is an electrolyte that works to promote cellular cleansing in our bodies. By regulating the fluid levels in our cells, this Tropical Maca Smoothie can help us feel super refreshed.
Coconut water can also do wonders to help our eyes appear more radiant. Don’t we all want that extra sparkly glow? By balancing high amounts of puffiness under our eyes, potassium moves the stagnant fluid in the body. It also helps bring elasticity to our skin. Drink this Tropical Maca Smoothie and say goodbye to undereye bags and dark eye circles. Who knew one smoothie could make us feel so good!?
Magical Maca
To make this smoothie recipe extra magical you’ll see it calls for adding a bit of maca to the mix. Maca is one of my all-time favorite adaptogens. I go through phases of using it every day. When I do take this adaptogen, I will enjoy it for a consecutive period, to help it build up in my system. And then I will take a break from it, while I continue to reap its benefits.
If you are new to maca let me give you some brief insight on this superfood. Like other adaptogens, maca is an herb that can help increase your resistance to stress, anxiety, and fatigue. I like to think of it as having a balancing influence on the body, as it helps it resist multiple forms of stress. Sipping on this Tropical Maca Smoothie helps your body let go of any stress, as if you are swaying away in a hammock, looking up at peaceful palm trees.
Let this Tropical Maca Smoothie take you away on that dream vacation you didn’t get to this year. And while you are at it, know that the added maca is working wonders on so many parts of your body. Maca has been linked to helping protect the brain from damage, improve bone health, and even improve cognitive ability in healthy people. What a mighty gem to have on hand, right? This adaptogen is a nutritional powerhouse that I highly recommend you jump on board with.
This Tropical Maca Smoothie is one luscious treat!
Once you try it I guarantee you are going to want to make it again and again. Hi Beauty! The recipe can now be found at the bottom of the page ;) xx
Hi Kymberly. It is a way that we can have the ingredients for these Tropical Sunshine Maca Smoothie. Thank you.
Hi Beauty! The recipe should be showing up at the bottom of the page now ;) xx
I would love to try this but don’t see a recipe?
Where do you buy Maca?
Hi Beauty! I use the Navitas Organics Maca Powder which you can order from Amazon or buy at Whole Foods. xx
Hi, are you taking maca while breastfeeding? (Just want your opinion before I try it).
Hi Beauty! I’ve ingested maca previously while breastfeeding and personally feel comfortable consuming it. However, it hasn’t been proven safe or effective for use in breastfeeding women, so if are nursing, you should talk to your doctor before using maca. Sending you love, mama! xx
Hi Kimberly,
I found out I’m allergic to oranges!! I know ????. Is there anything I could substitute?? I love your recipes, so any guidance is appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Nicole
Hi Beauty! You could always skip the oranges in this recipe and increase the amount of mango, pineapple or strawberries. Or you could use a banana instead ;) Happy blending! xx
Hi
We’re do you get your Maca powder ?
Hi Beauty! I get my maca powder from Whole Foods or Amazon – it’s the Navitas Organics Maca Powder. xx
Which Maca powder do you recommend for first timers?
Hi Beauty! I use the Navitas Organics Maca Powder which you can order from Amazon. xx
Hi, Thank you for this wonderful smoothie recipe! I just had a question, you had mentioned that you take the Maca for a while and then stop taking it. How long should we take it for and then take a break from it, Thanks ????
Hi Beauty! Hope you enjoy the recipe ;) I usually take a break from maca consumption for a week, every 4 weeks or so. The purpose of the break is to give the body a chance to stabilize hormones without the influence of maca powder. Plus, I typically feel an increase in the effects of maca after I start taking it again! Happy blending! xx
I have a question for you Kimberly, whenever I take Maca, not matter how much (i.e. 1/8 tsp), it gives me terrible stomach ache and makes me nauseous for best part of the day and would be interested to know why that is please? (I’m currently going through the menopause after 8 yrs of per-menopause).
Hi Beauty! I am sorry to hear that! Some people are more sensitive to maca than others, so that may be why you are experiencing stomach pain. I recommend trying it cooked in a warm elixir, which may be more soothing to your stomach than in a fruit-based smoothie. I have several elixir recipes on my blog! If you still experience stomach aches when taking maca, it could be that maca isn’t right for you and your body right now. Remember every body is different and will react differently to the same foods. Hope this is helpful! Sending you lots of love xx.
Thank you, I’ll try heating it up and see how I go ❤️
What’s the best maca powder to use and where can i purchase it?
Hi Beauty! I use the Navitas Organics Maca Powder which you can order from Amazon. xx
What kind of Maca do you recommend (there are different colours…) thanks!
Hi Beauty! I typically use yellow maca powder, which is the easiest to find! xx
Which brand/type of maca do you recommend Kimberly?
Hi Beauty! I use the Navitas Organics Maca Powder which you can order from Amazon. xx
Hi Kimberly, Do you recommend taking Macca during pregnancy?
Hi Catalina – thanks for your great question. Since our bodies are not all alike, I always suggest chatting with your health care practitioner to ensure you’re receiving the care and suggestions for your personal needs, including maca. Let us know how you do and sending you so much love! Xo
