Looking for the perfect post workout snack? My Almond Blissful Beauty Shake Recipe has a great source of vitamin E, protein, tastes yummy, and fills you up! Let’s find out why this smoothie brings bliss and Beauty to your afternoon snack time

Almonds

Thankfully this oval-shaped nut (technically the seed of the fruit of the almond tree), is available throughout the year (although they are freshest mid-summer, when they are at the height of their season), and is incredibly versatile and delicately flavored, which makes this one of my favorite Beauty foods.

Almonds are a very good source of vitamin E, manganese, biotin, and copper. Almonds are also a good source of magnesium, molydenum, riboflavin (vitamin B2), and phosphorus.

Although one-quarter cup of almonds contains about 11 grams of fat, 7 grams of it is heart-healthy monounsaturated fat.

For good health, studies suggest that the majority of the fats that you eat should be monounsaturated or polyunsaturated. Great news for us almond lovers! Plus they are a great blood sugar stabilizer.

With all these amazingly blissful Beauty benefits, why not use them in a variety of ways, such as

Almond Milk

There is nothing quite as delicious as freshly made and preservative-free nut milk, made in your own blender.

Let’s be honest, we are all busy and may not have time to make our own, but once you get into the habit of remembering to throw almonds into a bowl of water overnight, you might find yourself making it more often then you think.

Almond Butter

I do not advocate consuming peanuts at all. Popular peanut butter brands are laced with sugar. Peanuts are also said to be one of the most toxic foods in the American diet — having naturally occurring poisonous molds (called aflatoxins), that grow on them.

By the way, this could explain why so many people have intense allergic reactions to peanuts. These molds can infect our blood and our livers — NOT GOOD!!!

Good news though, more and more stores are carrying almond butter without sugar and dangerous MOLD!! Generally, we do not want to consume almond butter with fruits — this is not a healthy combination. Fruit should not be eaten with heavier foods that take much longer to break down.

That is why, in this recipe, you will notice we keep the fruit out and our digestion intact.

If you’re looking to cleanse your digestive system and eliminate your organs of wastes and toxins then you’ll want to click here!

Remember too, you can always make your own almond butter just as easily as you make almond milk. There are tons of recipes out there (Pinterest! Need I say more?!), with everything from simply bare almond butter to adding spices and natural sweeteners, like honey.

Coconut Yogurt

I love the coconut milk-based yogurt from So Delicous. It’s dairy free and soy-free, and is sweetened with cane sugar, so there’s no scary artificial sweeteners or agave in it (thank heavens!). While it isn’t as pure as say, just eating plain durian, I think in this case the goods outweigh the negatives. It’s great to use during your Beauty Detox transitions and is a pretty great alternative.
