âI have taken probiotics before being an avid gut health enthusiast but NONE come close to Kimberly's SBO Probiotics! I truly feel beautiful from the inside and out.â
Letâs face it, itâs cooler outside and the thought of drinking down a smoothie might send shivers down your spine. So how can we warm up our insides while still ingesting the nutrients we need to help our bodies function?
I hear you Beauties- seems near impossible, but this is where my Spicy Carrot Mango Smoothie Recipe will give you a kick of warming ginger, combined with the sweetness of carrots and juicy mangoesâwarming you up, filling you up, and keeping you hydrated during the cooler weather!
Letâs see howâŠ
Warming Beauty Spice: Ginger
I absolutely love this root. Itâs so aromatic, spicy, and full of special flavor that can be added to so many dishes. And, thereâs usually no shortage in finding fresh ginger root since itâs available year round in your local marketâs produce section.
Ginger is an all-around health and beauty food that helps to promote detoxification (I frequently use it in my Immunity Tea with Cayenne Pepper: Step by Step Instructionsâslicing it thinly and steeping it in boiling water for a few minutes). Why is this important? Because ginger helps to keep our body clean from the inside which ultimately plays a role on how weâll look and feel on the outside.
Ginger also has immune boosting actionâbeing a warming root that doesnât cause irritation. Ginger also promotes healthy sweating, which is helpful during cold and flu season. A good sweat really helps with the detoxification process!
The pungency and/or flavor of ground ginger is different from fresh ginger root. You can substitute one for the other but they each tend to work better in different types of dishes. Some like to use ground ginger for baking, while fresh ginger is used in savory dishes, but can be used in smoothies just as well (I personally love using fresh!).
We shot with ground ginger, which is perfect if you donât happen to have fresh on hand.
You can see how, by adding this beauty root, you will help your body clean itself of toxins and give your insides the heat it needs to withstand the chill.
Beauty Root: Carrots
Yes, this bright colored orange root contains the highest amounts of beta-carotene, which is the precursor for vitamin A (vitamin A being necessary for a well-moisturized and shiny head of hair and in promoting a healthy scalp), and needed for the growth of healthy hair. And who doesnât want healthy shiny hair?!
Carrots also possess strong cleansing properties that are extremely effective in cleansing our livers and removing toxins from the blood. These cleansing properties are an important aid in transporting nutrients and nourishing hair, and our entire bodies.
Carrots also contain calcium, potassium, iron, fiber, vitamins B1, B2, B6, C, K, and biotin (amazing skin refresher and beautifying properties). Just like ginger, they boost your immune system, improve digestion, detoxify the body, and boosts oral health.
Carrots provide loads of other vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, and adding this fibrous veggie to your beauty routines is just another great way to take the edge off of hunger, while still providing tons of nutrients.
Tropical Beauty Fruit: Mango
Youâd think that summer would be the most important time for hydration, but itâs just as important come winter!
Thankfully mangoes are one of the juiciest (when picked wisely), and hydrating fruits you can incorporate into this smoothie. And when we keep our bodies hydrated, we keep things moving internallyâkeeping our skin glowing in the process.
Beyond their juice, they are incredibly sweet and have a luscious flavorâcontaining an abundance of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidantsâaiding in providing you with optimum health and beauty!
Mangoes not only contains vitamin C but are an amazing source of beta carotene (a natural antioxidant used by the body to make vitamin A). So with the carrots we are really gettinâ it here!!!!
Other stand-out benefits? Mangoes are an excellent source of dietary fiber, vitamin B6, vitamin A and vitamin C.
Mangoes are rich in minerals, like magnesium, potassium, and copper. With all of these powerful antioxidants, this juicy fruit has the power to neutralize free radicals throughout the bodyâhelping to fight against premature aging, that comes from free radicals that damage the cells.
When you visit your local farmers market or grocery storeâŠ
Try to remember that the stronger or more intense the color of the fruit (or vegetable), the higher the concentration of beta-carotene content.
Also, go for vibrant mangoes- whether the outside is bright yellow (in the case of champagne), or red/greenâthere are so many different varieties.
Itâs time we warm up and stay hydrated with this simple and delicious new smoothie recipe, and reap its amazing benefits!
