Raw Chocolate Covered Almond Donut Holes Recipe
Donuts- whaaat?! I know thatâs what you are thinking. Donât worry! My version, which are Raw Chocolate Covered Almond Donut Holes, are another yummy treat that will redefine donuts to be something totally new and amazing and not set you back or make you super bloated :).
They are made with healthy ingredients like pre-soaked almonds. And no need to worry about sugar highs or rushes with these guys. Your body will be fueled with Natureâs goodness, without any feelings of being deprived.
Letâs check out of few of the ingredients and then the easy step-by-steps!
Choose Raw Cacao over Regular Cocoa
Whether itâs dark chocolate chips or cacao powder, just remember that dark chocolate is made from cacao.
While you may be tempted to use regular ole cocoa powder, read the next line! Both cacao and cocoa powders come from the same original sourceâthe Theobroma cacao treeâand how it is processed is what makes the difference.
Cocoa can be used sometimes, when sourcing is an issue, however it may contain added sugar or other sweeteners. On the other hand, cacao is the raw form of the cacao bean, which is less processedâhaving more powerful antioxidant effects and health benefits.
So the raw form of cacao is what you will want to look for when prepping for this recipe.
Whatâs great about this healthier option, is that cacao promotes feelings of love and joy, rather than the sugar rushes that other chocolates provide.
Cacao can improve your memory, increase your bliss, shed unwanted fat, boost immunity, and create loads of energy! Itâs no wonder I love chocolate so much!
Adding cacao is small amounts will provide just enough to make us happy and give our bodies the beauty, health, and vibrancy it deservesâwithout overstimulating and taxing our nervous system.
Better Digestion with Pre-soaked Almonds
Did you know that nuts (and seeds), have a natural component that repels predators so that they can grow to full maturity? Thatâs right! This is one of the reasons itâs important to pre-soak them before consuming.
Phytic acid is the major defense mechanism in nuts. When we eat something that contains phytic acid, the acid binds to minerals (like; zinc, iron, magnesium, calcium, chromium, and manganese), in the gastrointestinal tract <1>.
Once the acid binds to these minerals, it can inhibit our digestive systemsâ ability to break the nut down properly. This goes against the whole idea behind Beauty Detox Solution and ensuring we are receiving the best nutrients as is possible.
However, phytic acid can be removed Beauties! And now you know why Iâm always encouraging you to deactivate this acid by giving your nuts a soak.
You body will thank you and you will thank your body. Who needs indigestion when youâre trying to enjoy a yummy treat? Not me!
Rather, letâs soak in their life force ability thatâs found in their incredible storehouse of nutrients, and flourish to our highest potential.

Thoughts on Food Combining
All the ingredients in this recipe make it so that you donât have to worry if youâre combining correctly.
I really try to encourage ***simplifying***your meals to as few components as possible. If you remember this one tip alone, you will make a big impact on optimizing your digestive functioning with less energy.
Taking a closer look at the list of ingredients in these donuts, we have; shredded coconut, pre-soaked almonds (very important), dates, raw cacao, sea salt, maple syrup, sea salt, coconut nectar, and coconut oil. Simple, simple, simple. By the way, dried fruit (dates), combines okay with nuts.
Perhaps you are wondering about the almonds and combining them with the dates. When it comes to almonds (or any nuts), I do consider them a protein food, and thus, I donât combine them with a starch.
Nuts, as with seeds, combine with all raw vegetables, other nuts and seeds, and dried fruit.
I know it can be confusing at times, and thatâs why I try, again, just for now- keep your meals as simple as possible. You can check out The Beauty Detox Solution for more info on food combining, if you are interested.
Keep your meals and desserts simple! That is by far the most important thing to remember, and in this recipe (and all my recipes), Iâve done all the guess-work for you.
