The Essential Thing To Have Every Day to Detox

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVLr99KQrbs

Remember that it is not just what we’re putting in, it’s what we’re taking out continuously and efficiently, in the way of toxins, to allow our body to function at its peak and for us to look and feel our best.

Probiotic-rich foods, including Probiotic & Enzyme Salad, are absolutely essential items we should be consuming daily in your Beauty Detox Solution. Other sources include probiotic supplements, raw sauerkraut (if you can’t make the P & E Salad yourself), kimchi, coconut yogurt and unpasteurized miso.

More on this topic soon!

Love, Kimberly

Thank you very much for this reminder of eating the probiotic enzyme salad daily. I have been taking my probiotic supplement (Dr. Ohira) every morning, but don’t always get my enzyme salad in daily – NOW I WILL! Look forward to your “making the enzyme salad” video soon.
I just made your Acai Rainforest Smoothie a few minutes ago and forgot how DELICIOUS and filling and soothing it is! You are such a HUGE inspiration and so glad I found your blog and book. Always look forward to your posts during the week. Would love to see some new recipes that you would like to post. Yours are always the best and balanced (proper food combining). Have a great evening luv!

Thanks for listing the substitutes! I live in the greater Tokyo area and can find kimchi anywhere. Bonus, my hubby loves it too!

Hi Kim! Just finished reading your book and have started incorporating your recipes into my diet. I am interested in making the probiotic & enzyme salad, but I noticed in the directions to keep it in a cool dry place. I live in hot, humid FL and during the day my house is kept at about 80 degrees. Is this still acceptable to to make the salad? or will it go “bad”? Thanks!

Thank you Kimberly! I look forward to your demo. I still have my one jar in my closet that I made when I first read your book – in April I think haha. I have not tried it and cannot bring myself to even open it at this point. I bought sauerkraut but I didn’t eat that either because it just looks odd. Can you describe the taste and texture? Once I see your demo I will give it another try.
Everything else is going well. My husband and I have the GGS every morning and are loving it more each time. I am still amazed at how filling it is and how satisfied I feel.

Hi Kimberly! When is the best time to eat the probiotic salad – before, during or after the big green salad? Does it matter? I sometimes eat it while I am preparing the green salad for dinner. Thanks!

I can’t wait for a tutorial on how to make the P & E salad!
I tried making it once before, but all of the jars went bad I think. When I opened them, the smell was so putrid that I had to throw it in the garbage. There wasn’t any mould or spots or anything, but the smell was awful. So I am definitely excited for a video post on this topic!

    Thanks!

Although there are many benefits to eating fermented foods, I have read information that says fermented foods contain carcinogens that can cause cancer if consumed in large amounts. Is there reason to worry? Or do the benefits outweigh the risk? It’s confusing to know what to believe.

Hello Kimberly, can you advise how to eat according to the beauty detox solution whilst pregnant? I feel very light and satisfied eating just seasonal fruits and green smoothie during the day as i am not a salad person. In the evening, I cook steamed chicken, stirfried greens and have brown rice for dinner with my husband. We are not vegetarians. I try to follow the radiant beauty phase as much as possible. Thank you, Kim! =)

Hey Chelley, that sounds like a good plan you are on, but when pregnant it is really important to check with your doctor about your diet and any changes you may make. You don’t want to detox while pregnant, as that would release toxins. I will advise to be sure to get as much organic as possible, wash your produce really well, and make sure that chicken is hormone and steroid-free.
All the best and congrats!! xx Kimberly

Awesome! Thanks so much for this video. I’ve been incorporating a lot of the things in your BDS but this has been the one thing I’ve put off and haven’t incorporated in some time, and honestly forgot about doing. I will for sure start eating raw sauerkraut tomorrow and look forward too seeing the tutorial. And I do remember when I was eating the probiotics when I had cooked food that there was a positive difference. Also have event I want to look spectacular for in 2 wks, think this may make all the difference. Soo excited to get on track with this.

I’ve really really notice a positive difference in my skin on days that I have more water and have 2 lemons a day.

All the best to you, Kimberly!

Hi Joi – I have skin issues and was curious what you meant about eating 2 lemons a day? Do you eat the juice of the lemons or eat the lemons whole? I have noticed a positive difference in my skin after cutting out dairy but it is still not completely clear, so I am still looking for other options! Thanks!

        Hi Kristen,
I just try to have the juice from 2 lemons through out the day. Like 1/2 lemon to start the day in hot water. The other half either in water with my probiotic or use in the GGS and then another lemon in water later during the day. Don’t know how much of it is because I’m drinking at least 8 glasses plus in this scenario, or the lemons but in either case my skin looks and feels much much better and even my abs looked defined instead of bloated.

Dairy has been something I’ve been getting rid of too. 🙂 Slipped hard and had goat cheese this week, a lot of it :(, and I’m sooo seeing the difference. I’m kinda an all of nothing girl. Wish I could be moderate. But I know what to do to get back on track.

Anyways, hope that helps. Sometimes I will peel just the rind off of the lemon and add that in the GGS too soo you get all the pith, etc.

        Take care fellow BDSer

    Hi Kim,

First of all you are so pretty and I dont only mean physically, but your radiant energy shines from within, and i want that too! I was just on a low carb/high protein diet for a while and lost a bunch of weight, but i felt like crap, I smelled despite showering everyday and my breath was gross despite my obsession with dental hygiene! Anyways, I am moving towards a vegan diet for weight loss and overall well-being, but I have IBS and the minute I put fresh raw greens in my mouth, ESPECIALLY on an empty stomach, I get extremely bloated to the point of looking 5 months pregnant, and oddly enough, I get very constipated as well. I find that I do so much better when my vegetables are steamed really well. Do you have any suggestions or reasoning for why this may happen?
    Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Natalie, I struggled with severe bloating and digestion problems for about 2 years. My meals would sit in my stomach for up to 2 days and make awful gurgling noises that were embarrassing. An article I read said digestive problems might be due to insufficient stomach acid. Taking a hydrochloric acid (HCl) supplement and digestive enzyme with my meals has significantly improved my digestion. I used to avoid raw fruit and veggies because of digestive problems, but now I’m digesting them much better. The bloating has gone down so much, my stomach is now mostly flat, except for the bit of extra weight I’m working on. I’ve been following the Beauty Detox Solution for about 6 weeks now and have released 15 lbs (yay!), adding the HCl supplement has enhanced my results. If you google “hypochlorhydria” you will get lots of articles. I hope this helps.

I wanted to add that I had severe digestion challenges and there are a couple of things on the Beauty Detox Solution that come together to enhance and heal digestive difficulties in addition to the HCl supplement I mentioned above. Before meals I take a digestive enzyme and an HCl supplement. I also add raw kimchi on top of my salads as a substitute for the probiotic and enzyme salad. Before bedtime, I take a probiotic supplement. The combo of digestive enzyme, HCl supplement, fermented food, and probiotics has really made a difference in my digestion and that combined with the food on the BDS has made a significant change in my health and quality of life.

HI Natalie, thank you! You too have the inner light and it will only continue to shine through more. 🙂 You’re making a big dietary transition, and having raw veggies is something you may have to work up to over time. Steamed veggies are great for a while, and start having lots of probiotics and using the other methods I describe in Chapter 6 to start cleansing your body of acidic toxins that a high animal protein diet creates in your body (and the symptoms you mention are indeed indicative of these toxins!). Digestive enzymes will also be helpful to you. Wait a few weeks, then start adding a small amount of raw blended greens into your diet (in the GGS or a blended soup) after taking a digestive enzyme. Over time, your digestive strength may improve as your body cleanses and strengthens, but be patient and remember your body is rebuilding for a whole different lifestyle change. xx PS- Avoid gluten too with IBS

    Kim,

I have a really bad sweet tooth and I am wondering what are the rules for eating chocolate? What’s the best time of the day to have it? Do I need to wait a certain amount of time after a meal? Can I mix it with fruit?

Hi Victoria, with fruit wait 20-25 minutes to eat anything. Limit the chocolate to 1-2 ounces a day, and eat it when you really feel you need it…but be careful that it does have caffeine so don’t have too late at night. Over time, sweet cravings can diminish as we balance our internal ecosystem with probiotics, and get yeasts under control. xx

Just got your book and I am really excited to begin. I am a 30 year old mommy of 2 little girls and very over weight. I have a feeling I am VERY toxic with trouble losing weight, thinning hair and acne. I am not big with doctors and medications especially when the doctors can seem to figure out why I have the problems I have. I am hoping this is my answer to some if not all my health problems. Thank you for giving a hidden beauty hope.

    Hi Kimberly!
I have read your book as well as several of your posts, but am getting mixed messages from other people about one issue: breastfeeding. I have a 5 1/2 month old little guy, and plan to breastfeed him until (at the latest) 18 months. I am anxious to clean out my body, lose weight, but more then anything else: feel good and energetic so that I can be the best mom that I can be to my baby and 4 older children. Is it safe to breastfeed and follow your detox plan? Do I need to hold back some? If so, what are the essentials? I drink some form of green smoothie at least once a day, and eat a big salad at least once a day. I have also made my first batch of P&E salad, and take a daily probiotic supplement. The kids know that if they are hungry, their choices are fruits or veggies (depending on what and when their last meal was). So, we are doing some basic things, but I don’t want to do too much that could potentially be detrimental to little guy through breastmilk, or that could dry up my milk supply.
My main goal is not only cleaning my body, but teaching my children while they are young about nutrition and treating their bodies with love and respect.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, and thanks in advance!

    Hi Kimberly,

First of all, thank you for being such an incredibly inspiring and generous person and for sharing your journey with us. I’m very new to all of this and am almost finished with your book and I have a couple of questions ..

    1) I have some psoriasis on my elbows and just a little starting on my knees – I’m wondering if you have had any experience with probiotics helping with this? I’m desperate to find a way to control if not eliminate it, naturally.

    2) I have 3 little boys (a 3yr old and twin 1yr olds) and I am having a very hard time trying to adjust my diet and eating habits for many reasons, but my main issues are because I have little time to prepare separate meals for myself, my husband, and my kids, and b/c I don’t know if and how I should be applying this new knowledge to my boys?? What do you recommend for kids?

      HI Kira,
I have had many report relief with psoriasis with increasing probiotics, decreasing clogging foods like dairy, and eliminating common allergenic foods, especially gluten (wheat, rye, barley), soy and again, dairy.
With your family, try to increase the quality of ingredients/components of meals without having to make separate meals. For instance, you can use quinoa pasta instead of regualr pasta. You can have veggie sticks to dip hummus and other dips in, instead of a bunch of chips. And salads for all are a good thing to have on the dinner table- even if you end up having more salad then your kids and husband. Lead by example, and it is still great for them to see you eating a lot of salad. Try incorporating more ingredients like quinoa and brown rice, and veggie chili and vegetarian soups that all will like (lentil, vegetable, etc.) and if you make homemade pizza, try putting more veggies on it and substitute gluten-free crusts. Cook with grapeseed/coconut oil, and use a really high quality sea salt instead of table salt.

Think of it as upgrading the meals for all and teaching your kids the value of fresh food- not having to make separate meals.
      xx Kimberly

Hi Cindy – this is a topic that comes up often so you will see all kinds of information out there. Most important is, if you feel you have this condition, to consult with your health care practitioner to ensure you are receiving what your body personally needs. Check out this blog I wrote about how to reduce yeast infections (http://bit.ly/2GJGe54), since all the Beauty Detox principles will contribute to a healthier gut and lifestyle in general. Again, I’m all about eating a plant-based diet and definitely encourage the Beauty Detox Solution when choosing which foods to incorporate into our lives. Let us know how you do and sending you lots of love! 😉

Good day! Just tried the P&E recipe….lots of questions.
Do you include the water in the jars?
    Add additional vegetables?
Exactly how much cabbage. I bought the “medium head” of cabbage and it just made 1 3/4 qt jars.
Red cabbage or Napa cabbage or both?

Love your book! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Jeane, I dont take it all the time just when I feel the need> Hope the following will help you and best wishes :

Cultured Cabbage Juice by Chris Gupta source.

To implant friendly lactobacteria in the colon and heal damaged mucus membranes of the G.I. tract, you need to drink about 1 and 1/2 cups daily. Here is how to make it.

Fill blender with chopped green cabbage and add distilled water until about 2/3 full. (Do not use well water or tap water). Beat at high speed in the blender for one minute. Pour mixture into bowl and repeat with two more batches. Cover with Saran wrap or similar material and let stand at room temperature.

After 3 days, the cabbage juice solution is ready to use. Strain the mixture to separate the liquid from the pulp. Place the cultured cabbage juice in refrigerator. Drink 1/2 cup of this solution diluted with an equal part of water 2 or 3 times each day. When the supply gets low, make second batch just like the first one, except add 1/2 cup of the juice from the first batch to the second batch. This batch will be ready in just 24 hours since the starter greatly speeds the process.

This process may be repeated indefinitely. Each serving contains several billion friendly lactobacteria. The lactic acid in the culture cabbage juice will purify the G.I. tract and kill most strains of fungi, parasites, and other pathogens. You should drink this mixture until your stools float in the toilet bowl and are odor free. When that happens, you may lower your dosage to one serving per day for maintenance.

    Hi Kim!
My mom came to me and asked what she could do besides meds for her osteopenia. She said she needs more calcium but also needs enough magnesium and vit D to help absorb it. She takes a pill once a week (RX) for her bones. She also takes an OTC calcium and vit D pill and wants to start on magnesium. I told her that her body probably isn’t able to assimilate those pills very well due to the fact that they are isolated and come from sources our body can’t use. She doesn’t know what else to do. He Dr. really scared her and she feels like she has to do something more. She eats meat but loves loves greens and veggies-always has. If she has always eaten a lot of veggies etc…could the osteopenia be due to consumption of meat/dairy/soda’s over the years? ADVICE PLEASE!!! I’d like to help her out and get her off so many supplement vitamins/minerals.
    Thank you so much!!
    Sincerely,
    Ann

    Hi Kimberly!
I’m a huge fan of what you do and your ideas about food and nutrition! I tried buying raw sauerkraut just to see if I’d be able to eat it before making my own, and I find that it has such a distinct vinegary flavor and specific texture that I don’t want to eat it that often, by itself or even in a salad (because it makes my whole salad taste like sauerkraut). I’m wondering if there’s a good way to sneak it into my daily routine, or if the homemade version will have a tamer taste. Also, can I wash or dry off the liquid before eating it or is the liquid important too?
On another note, I have a loud, gurgly stomach like one of the readers above, and was wondering if you had any thoughts on what might calm that down (I already don’t eat gluten or dairy)?

Thank you so much for everything you do and believe in! Keep spreading the wonderful knowledge!

I really want to incorporate the smoothie in our morning routine, are there any blenders out there that will do the job of the Vitamix or close to it?

Your book really helped me turn my life around. When I turned 18 I fell into an extremely dark depression and proceeded to eat whatever damaging food I could get my hands on, ballooning from a healthy 135 lbs to 215. I’m 23 now, and a few months ago decided to get my life back in order. Your book is helping me do that. I started reading it the day it came out and so far with the nutritional guidelines, recipes and everyday hiking plus occasional yoga I am down to 190. Thanks Kimberly!!!

    Hi Kimberley!

What brand of coconut yogurt do you recommend?

Also, I have been looking for a chlorophyll tablet and can’t find any similar to the ones you refer to in the book, what brands do you recommend?

    Hi Kimberly!

I just got your book a few days ago and I’m excited to try it out. I want to incorporate your plan into my diet and gradually cut everything else out.

I have a few things that may be a problem. The P&E salad. I live in SW Nevada and it’s hot. To have the temp at 70º for five days would mean I’d have to have the air on high and I’d have huge electric bills.

Also, with my work schedule I have to eat dinner at work. I work at night and my “lunch break” is actually dinner. Do you still follow the no food three hours before bed rule? Any tips on how to make a big salad portable for lunch? I have no refrigerator to put my lunch in. I’d have to use a big insulated lunch box.
    Thanks ~ I can’t wait for the P&E demo.

    Hi, Kimberly,

I am very new to your website. There is so much wonderful information — I don’t know where to start. This may be a little TMI, but I have had horrible acne on my face, back, and chest since I was 12 years old, I am now 33. I’ve tried every medication under the sun, literally. Nothing has worked. It’s about time I figure out it’s what I’m putting into my body that’s wreaking havoc on my skin (I think I’ve always known it, but have been too lazy to do anything about it). Where do I possibly start to clear such a big mess? The GGS?

Hello, I just finished your book it was very interesting, I’m learning alot.
I need some with getting started with the probiotic and enzyme salad. First step, how do i sterilized the jars? Do I put them in hot boiling water, if so for how long? or do I put them in pot to boil with water, again for how long, and do i put the lids in too? I bout kerr glass jars with the wide mouth lids and bands which lids can only be used once. Are these jars ok to use (kerr wide mouth w/bands jars)?

Those jars are great to use. After washing your jars, lids, and rings in hot soapy water, boil them for several mins. Then remove them and they are ready to go.

Is there a recipe for the salad? I looked in the recipe section. I’ll go back and see if I missed something. Thanks

1 more question. Something I notice is that every time I come to your site I get so caught up in all of the GREAT information that I get overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. This usually ends up in going overboard and then backing off entirely, only to begin again when I’ve been off of it for a bit.

If you were starting someone out on this road to good eating, besides cutting out dairy and gluten, what are say 10 things that you would feel are essential to have in your kitchen (fyi: I have a VitaMix and eat a reasonable amount of raw vegies, but it’s standard fair: lettuce/spinach, carrots, peas, tomatoes, red pepper, radishes, celery, corn, broccoli, cucumber and it’s not like I have any kind of order or plan, just that it’s raw and therefore good for me)?

    Thanks for your patience,

    Bay

Hi Bay, the blog is great for ongoing information. If you want a complete program, you should read The Beauty Detox Solution. xx

    Hi Kimberly,
Thanks for this post – what do you think of kombucha? I’m hearing buzz on this and apparently it’s easy to make at home. Do you recommend consuming this?
    Thanks,
    Michele

I wish that more householders would become more aware of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Each year more than twenty people are killed by this odourless, colourless gas escaping
from faulty central heating boilers together with hundreds more who suffer serious
    health problems caused by it.
