Avengers fever is upon us! Smashing the previous opening weekend box office record with $207 million . The movie is already an enormous hit!
Though I admit I’m not a huge movie-goer, I do happen to be and work on film sets all the time (so I see films being made waaaaay more than going to the theater), and this one is close to my heart. I was on set with the moving Avengers set train across the country, which shot in Albuquerque (remember those NM blogs and videos?), Cleveland and NY.
To say it was a blast to work on the Avengers set would be a huge understatement! The actors are absolute sweethearts, which is saying a lot considering the incredibly heavy costumes they had to wear and extremely long days and shooting schedule, which included a lot of all-night shoots.
Many of the actors are on the Beauty Detox program and incorporate Glowing Green Smoothies into their diet, including Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston. “Cap” Chris Evans became a Rainforest Acai Smoothie fan (with chia seeds). The guys’ superhero and villain costumes were really tight, impeding digestion and making it uncomfortable to eat foods for long stretches of time, so the GGS and all the different smoothies were really important.
I made changes like getting the guys off Gatorade and making sure they hydrated with coconut water instead.
We had a bunch of super fun dinner parties that I hosted as well!
On Saturday, in the midst of the opening weekend extravaganza, Tom “Loki” Hiddleston posted this on Twitter, along with his picture of his GGS next to the action figure made in his own likeness:
Commemorating all things green in #Avengers w. one of @KimsBeautyDetox‘s #GlowingGreenSmoothies Hulk Smash @Mruff221 https://pic.twitter.com/yyGhWJpT
Chris “Captain America” Evans had never heard of chia seeds before, but he knew all about them by the end of the film.
Big fan of all these guys! Robert “Ironman” and Jeremy “Hawkeye” are also very nice. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, be sure to catch it this week or weekend.
And the greatest superhero of them all: Joss Whedon!
Did you meet him?
Hi Kim,
I love your site, I just found it this weekend by accident and started drinking the GGS right away. I am already hooked! I also lost 2 pounds last week, probably due to the fiber.
My question is about my 9 year old daughter. She is on the autism spectrum and is the pickiest eater in the world. I want to better her diet since I feel it would benefit her moods and sleep but she does not like any of the smoothies, alomond milk, etc. Its not as easy for me to make changes with her as it might be for other children. Do you have any insight on diet and children on the spectrum? Any more yummy ides aside from the kids corner blog?
thank you so much for all your helpful info. I love it!
Only thing I know about ASD is that a gluten free diet can be very beneficial! Really helps with their behavior. Consider contacting Autism Speaks and TACA for more information, they have specialists and can point you towards resources that can help you.
chris is super hot!! glad you had to opportunity to spread the word. I have been doing the same but people are so hesitant and instead of trying something new they make faces and ridicule, i wonder “don’t they want to be healthy in the inside?”
how do i get through them?
You lucky girl! Although they were fortunate to have you too!
That looked like so much fun! How great that you are there to keep all of the actors and crew healthy throughout the movie shoot. I bet they really appreciated what you prepared for them.
How fun! Glad to know these guys were able to enjoy all your great smoothies just as much as I do! You are the very best nutrionist out there. I have never felt better since following your program.
Kimberly, thank you for posting this. Your smoothies are amazing (I add 2 bananas to mine and add a handful of pineapple) and I can totally see why Mark and Tom tweet about the GGS! I had the chance to tell Tom thank you in person last month for tweeting about the GGS (I was already reading your book) and it’s benefits. His compliment about my appearance just about made my life, he’s so adorably charming. *laughs* You (and he) were right about it! I have so much energy (totally see why “the boys” would need it for all those fight scenes!) and the change has been remarkable! THANK YOU!
Love this post, Kim! You are so incredibly lucky to be doing what you love, and working with such talented people! I will definitely be seeing the Avengers. I heard it was awesome.
Can’t wait for your new book, and yoga video!!!
Kim, why does magnesium oxide cause diareah? and if it does everyday should you stop taking it?
Kimberly,
I have been drinking your GGS for the past 1 1/2 years and I can’t start my morning without one. However, my questions to you is do you know what might cause food allergies or sensitivities later on in life (I’m 30 yrs old)? I never thought I had an allergy to tree nuts until I started using coconut oil, butter, water, etc. on a daily basis last summer. Since then, I’ve had a red rash in the corner of mouth that I thought was either caused by bacteria or fungus. My Dr. recommended that I stop using anything with coconut (including lip balms) and within 1 day the rash cleared up. Do you think the inflammation cause by food can also be what causes ezcema flare-ups? I know you are not a Dr., but I’m curious as to your take on the link between skin allergies and ezcema.
My husband and I went to see this movie last weekend and loved it! I told him that the stars all looked so hot because of you. Haha. :)
That’s great! :)
Thats awesome Kim :D Looks like you had a lot of fun.
No wonder everyone looked so good, because you were on set :D
My husband sent me this article in response to my taking up the GGS – do you have thoughts/ responses to this?
Yes please go to the latest blog post.
I am so happy you shared this experience with us. I showed my boys who are already big fans of the GGS and now they are beyond thrilled. They think if its good enough for the Avengers than it is good enough for them. They now drink it about 4 times a week!!!
Hello, Kimberly I think that you are beautiful and I love your book. I want to get started on eating healthy but I am under weight. I love to eat and its hard for me to gain weight but I want to eat healthy but not lose weight I actually want to gain. Your book doesnt talk about that and I wanted to know if you had anything helpful that I can incorporate with the diet plans that you have in your book to help me gain and not lose.
Thanks,
Michelle :)
I am so jelous of your pics with my favourite superheroes!!! I just used the one with Loki for a photocollage, I think it is visible on the avatar image! I hope you will have fun with my trick! In a few hours I will reveal to my friends on facebook the real origin of the pics with a link to this page of course, most of them really think it is true, it is so funny!!!! :D
I arrived here searching for Loki pics and then I reviewed your method too, so I was wondering whether your book is available in Italian. Anyway I think I will buy the eBook version (if available) in english too! Bye and…. thank you for the pic! ;D
I was going to say “You’re so lucky getting to meet Tom Hiddleston!”, but surely he is just as lucky to have met you :) I’m looking forward to try out your recipes :)
Tom’s tweet was the first time I’d been introduced to your GGS, and, subsequently, you! Thank you so much for doing what you do and sharing it with the rest of us! I’m doing what I can to incorporate your ideas bit by bit and I feel so much healthier for it, already. You’re an absolute blessing. <3
