Think having some popcorn or treats when going to see a movie is innocent snacking? Think again! For many people, going to the movies and eating movie snacks seem to go hand in hand. But as you’ll see below, these snacks can massively sabotage your weight loss efforts. Movie snacks are high in calories, bad fat, sodium, and more. They will make you fat, which is a real shame when you are otherwise working hard to improve your diet and eat healthier.
Be sure to go to the movies after eating, so you are less tempted to binge. If you love your movie treats, carry in a bar of organic dark chocolate (at least 72% cacao) in your pocket or purse, so you can have a few squares, and not eat the expensive candy crap that is sold at the theaters.
Remember: if you plan on working out before going to movie theaters, never forget to make your post workout snack ahead of time, so your body will never be tempted to eat any sugary delights.

Thank you for posting this. Those are some scary numbers!
That is a recipe for a future heart problem.
Hey Kimberly!
Your daily posts are a life saver! I was wondering about how a weekly snack of home popped, organic popcorn once a week stacks up as far as being okay on the Radiant or True Beauty phases of your program. I usually like it with a bit of salt and nutritional yeast. Do you think it will do enough damage to motivate me to forgo it, or can we get away with it if we be sure to alkalize first. Just wondering about that.
Thanks again!
What about a small popcorn with NO butter from time to time?
Oh my gosh! The amount of fat in a large popcorn is just obscene.
having my first durian today!
Hello, Kimberly! What is new? Any books-yoga, nutrition, philosophy? If you were teaching to certify yoga instructors, I would soar to the chance in a heartbeat!
God thats quite a shocker 41/2 cheeseburgers has the same cals as a large popcorn with butter, always found the thought of melted butter on popcorn gross and then you get all the salt as well
This is SCARY! I’m so glad I no longer even crave for popcorn and I always bring my own little tub of sprouted nuts or cut fruits if I really want a snack. In the past, I used to have caramel popcorn and soda and thinking back – no wonder I always felt sleepy and tired (and irritable in general) after sitting in the movies for too long. Thanks for the info Kim!
Thank you!!
I love movie theater popcorn, but even without butter, it is definitely not the healthiest thing in the world. I always bring raw almond or a Larabar with me. Besides I find that have the fun with the popcorn is the smell…and you can get that for free when you enter the theater! :)
So glad I stopped my mom from getting movie theater popcorn the other day when we saw The Avengers!! Awesome movie by the way…you made those guys look so hot, Kim!! Nice job :)
Hi Kim :)
I noticed the dark chocolate bar (72% cacao) that I bought has 53% saturated fat per serving (3 squares). Is this ok?
