I’m a huge fan of the Glowing Green Smoothie® (GGS). It’s my own recipe of course, but I do really love it. I drink it daily, and have all my clients drink it daily. It’s packed with so many nutrients, enzymes, and fiber. That’s why it’s the cornerstone of my Beauty Detox System, as well as my signature drink.
One question people often ask, however, is how the GGS compares to juice and juicing. After all, when you juice fresh fruits and vegetables, the nutrition and enzymes are still there easily made with a Vitamix blender. The secret to the GGS, however, and why I feel it is nutritionally superior to juice can be summed up in one word: fiber. 32 ounces of the GGS has around 12 g of fiber. That’s around the amount (or less!) that the average American gets in a whole day.
When you juice fruits or vegetables, what you are left with is NOT a whole food anymore. Nature grows fruits and veggie with its juice and fiber intact. So while fresh juices are still beneficial, it is important to note that when you consume a juice you are not eating a whole food anymore; the produce has been processed.
If you only drink green juice and never the GGS, you are sorely missing out on removing the fiber, which is incredibly important. Sure you can get some fiber from other plant foods you eat later in the day, but why remove it it in the first place? I want as much as I can get!
Fiber is 0 calories, and adds roughage to cleanse digestive tract and also helps you feel more full. Most all of us would benefit from increasing our fiber consumption.
Let’s look at all of the reasons fiber is so important in the diet.
Protects against Disease
Numerous studies exist showing fiber’s protective nature.
Fiber intake has been linked to protection against many diseases, including:
- Heart disease
- Type 2 diabetes
- Colon cancer
- Diverticular disease
Likewise, fiber scrubs intestines and helps promote healthy bowel movements.
Works with the Liver for Detoxification
Fiber has no calories, and it helps remove circulating fats and toxins, and escorts them out of your body. Detox is an important part of maintaining health and beauty, and fiber plays a key role in this process.
The liver is the major fat burning organ in the body and regulates fat metabolism by a complicated set of biochemical pathways. It can also pump excess fat out of the body through the bile into the small intestines. If the diet is high in fiber, this unwanted fat will be carried out of the body via the bowel actions. Thus the liver is a remarkable machine for keeping weight under control, being both a fat burning organ and a fat pumping organ.
If the diet is low in fiber, some of the fats (especially cholesterol) and toxins that have been pumped by the liver into the gut through the bile will recirculate back to the liver. This occurs via enterohepatic circulation. The term enterohepatic circulation describes the recirculation of fluids (consisting mainly of bile acids) from the gut back to the liver. The enterohepatic circulation is very large, with approximately 95% of the bile acids being reabsorbed from the last section of the small intestine (ileum), into the portal vein to be carried back to the liver. The liver re-circulates these bile acids back into the small intestines.
The entire bile pool recycles through the enterohepatic circulation six to eight times a day. If this recirculated fluid is high in fat and/or toxins, it contributes to excessive weight. A high fiber diet will reduce the recirculation of fat and toxins from the gut back to the liver. A juice has no fiber to help push the toxins and fat out of the body.
This is vitally important for those with excessive weight, toxicity problems and high cholesterol. The inclusion of plenty of whole, fibrous raw fruits and vegetables as well as ground-up raw flaxseeds, as well as chia seeds will increase both soluble and insoluble fiber in the gut, reducing recirculation of unwanted fat and toxins. Some people find that rice or wheat bran, psyllium husks, and unprocessed homemade muesli can boost fiber efficiently.
If toxins damage the liver filter, or it is clogged up (blocked) with excessive waste material, then it will be less able to remove small fat globules (chylomicrons) circulating in the bloodstream. This causes excessive fat to build up in the blood vessel walls.
This fat may then gradually build up in many other parts of the body, including other organs, as well as in fatty deposits under the skin. Thus, you may develop cellulite in the buttocks, thighs, arms and abdominal wall. Not fun!
If the liver is dysfunctional, it will not manufacture adequate amounts of the good cholesterol (HDL), which travels out of the liver to scavenge the unhealthy cholesterol (LDL) from the blood vessel walls.
If the liver filter is healthy, it allows dietary cholesterol to be shunted into the liver for metabolism or excretion through the bile. A healthy liver filter is essential to properly regulate blood cholesterol levels.
Poor liver function may increase your chances of cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, heart attacks and strokes.
Fights Fatty Liver
If the liver does not regulate fat metabolism efficiently, weight gain tends to occur around the abdominal area and a protuberant abdomen (pot belly) will develop. This is not good for the waistline! Likewise, belly fat has been linked specifically to a host of health problems including heart disease, stroke, and insulin resistance.
Another sign can be a roll of fat around the upper abdomen, which I not-so-affectionately call the “liver roll.” This is often a sign of a fatty liver. It can be almost impossible to lose this abdominal fat until the liver function is improved.
Once this is done, the liver will start burning fat efficiently again and the weight comes off gradually and without too much effort from you. It is not necessary to make yourself miserable by following a low fat, low calorie diet.
What is effective in the long term is to eat the correct foods and nutrients for the liver to improve its fat burning function.
Many middle-aged people with excess fat in the abdominal area have a “fatty liver.” In this condition, the liver has stopped burning fat and has turned into a fat storing organ. It becomes enlarged and swollen with greasy deposits of fatty tissue.
Those with a fatty liver will not be able to lose weight unless they first improve liver function, with a liver cleansing diet and a good liver tonic.
If you have a fatty liver it is vital to be patient, as it can take between 3 and 12 months, depending upon the amount of fat deposited in the liver, to remove the excess fat from the liver. After this accumulated liver fat has been removed, weight loss will occur easily.
If you have a very severe case of fatty liver it can take several years to lose all of the excessive weight. However, this is very successful in the long term and provides the best chance of restoring your figure and your health.
Fatty liver is common and doctors often tell their patients with this problem not to worry too much because it is not serious. I disagree with this, because if you have a fatty liver, your chances of high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes are significantly higher.
Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to find a fatty liver in adolescents who consume a diet high in processed foods and soda pop.
So, as you can see, while juice provides many nutrients and benefits, it lacks a very important ingredient that can make a huge difference in your overall health. By having a GGS, you’re not only getting essential vitamins, nutrients, and enzymes for good health, but you’re getting loads of fiber, which can protect you from disease, help detoxify your body, contribute to easier and sustained weight loss, and help you look and feel your best.
Don’t remove the fiber- you need it. Enjoy your GGS!
wow thankyou so much for this informative article Kim!!
Love it! :-)
I have been following your guidelines etc but feel i may be in a cleansing crisis. my weight has rebounded and my bowel movements are less…. (i’ve also been high raw vegan for two years almost)
i think i have hypothyroidism or hashimotos- causing my liver to be sluggish.
i also have hormonal issues and haven’t had my period in two years… while i am only seventeen. apparently i am “hypothalamic” which is a pituitary-brain disorder..
are there any liver / gallbladder flushes you recommend that are safe? it would be interesting to read an article about this- because it is all confusing out there. hopefully my body will heal just eating the right foods over time!!
Thank you for everything- i’m a huge fan of you!
Hi health lover.
I may be off the subject but I want to share this info. With you. I am a middle aged woman who has been suffering from adult acne for years and took antibiotics to control it. Recently my doctor has me on Niacinamide 500 mg, a form of B-3. Apparently it helps acne and has many other benefits such as helping hypothyroidism .
Hi if you have a fatty liver what tonic do you recommend? And how much green juice a day is allowed during the radiant beauty phase
Thanks!
I would really like to try your Glowing Green Smoothie but I am allergic to bananas, mangoes and all melons. Is there a fruit substitute that I can use in place of the bananas?
Sincerely-
Alisa
It looks like this article is tailor made for me. Do u think taking the GGS twice a day would help the liver roll condition. Is there a particular liver supplement u recommend. What else can I do to help my case ?
Great post! One question which has always confused me though….if you are using a high powered juicer such as the Vitamixer, aren’t you getting the fiber since the entire fruit is juiced, including the skin?
that’s not a juicer, the vitamix makes smoothies which retain all the fiber.
The Vitamix isn’t a juicer, it’s a blender. Everything that’s put in, stays in.
When you use a Vitamix you still have the fiber unless you use a strainer or cheesecloth e.g. to seperate the juice from the pulp.
Ali,
Juicing and blending often get mixed up; if you are using a Vitamix blender you are blending and therefore getting the fiber.. Juicing requires a juicer and the fiber is separated from the juice.
I hope this helps.
Claudia
Love this article. I like a good green juice every once and a while, but I prefer green smoothies. Intuitively, I can tell my body needs the fiber. You just made it even more clear why. Cheers!
I really enjoyed your book and love receiving your emails with all your helpful health tips. My problem with the Green Glowing Smoothie is how thick the smoothie becomes even when using a Vitamix. Do you have any suggestions or should I just keep trying to get used to its thickness? I find drinking such a thick smoothie first thing in the morning hard to take, but I do like the taste and certainly appreciates the health benefits.
Thanks so much!
I was having trouble at first with the correct consistency, but finally figured it out! Cut all of the fruits and veggies, put one and a half glasses of water and put the veggies in first, then the fruit. I start on a higher number and quickly switch the vitamix to the highest level and with the help of the wand I mix it up to make sure it is getting everything. Then, I put the fruits in and since it is already cut up I do not allow it to get warm. It only takes about 1.5-2 min for it to be smooth as can be. Hope that helps.
We add a little ice and a little more water to thin our smoothie.
Hope that will help you!
Claudia
Hi Kim! Glad to hear you mention the benefits of smoothies vs. juicing since I’ve only been making smoothies so far and wondered if I should include the green juices into my diet but felt it was a waste to discard all that pulp.
Quick question…You mention drinking the same smoothie every day or do you recommend to your clients that they rotate their greens?
Thanks for great health advice!
Kim, Do you think liver flushes are beneficial for dealing with a fatty or congested liver?
I juice every morning instead of having the smoothie mainly because I don’t like the consistency of the GGS. I don’t have a vitamix and can’t afford to get one right now. My blender doesn’t really “blend” the smoothie and to get even close to blended I have to use so much water that I will literally have a good 120 oz to consume. Since it definitely became more of a chore than a treat, I just switched to juicing. As of now, I have 24 oz of juice for breakfast and another 8oz before lunch and 8 oz before dinner. I’m keeping weight off but my skin is still not up to par. Everyone I’ve recommended your book to has told me that their skin cleared up immediately! They also bought a Vitamix to work out the blending issue :-) Do you have any suggestions for those of us who can’t afford an expensive blender?
Costco sells a similar one for $150 called the Ninja. That is what I use and
I drink the GGS every morning.
Hi Wendy,
How is the Ninja? I’ve seen it in Costco several times and have been thinking about purchasing it. I most definitely cannot afford the Vitamix right now!
I am in love with my ninja! I got my at Costco because I knew if i didn’t like it I could return it! I love costco’s return policy:) But I’ve had it for almost 2 years now and I still love it.
Thanks Wendy!!! That’s much closer to my price range :-) I’ll give that a shot.
I hope you win the next give-away!
Until then or until Kimberly provides a better answer, have you tried putting some of the pulp back into your juice; that works for me when I make orange or grapefruit juice.
Also, don’t forget Kim’s suggestions to use MAG O7, Probiotics, and Advanced enzymes and to eat light to heavy each day.
Hope this helps!
Claudia
Try the Nutri-Bullet. From the makers of the Majic Bullet. I’ve been using it for 5 weeks now. It’s great, compact, easy to use and cleans up quickly.
I use the Ninja, it’s great and makes the entire batch.
Really interesting and helpful post! My belly fat is finally disapearing as time goes by from raw food. What is your opinion on the high carb raw fruit vegan diet ? -which contains mostly all fruit, small amounts of vegetables and almost no fat.
I’m a lil confused Kim as for the true beauty phase in your beauty detox book, you recommend green juice for breakfast as it is most cleaning and a green smoothie for a snack if necessary, although you did mention we can stick to the green smoothie if that is what we prefer since a lot of your clients do prefer the smoothie over the green juice. In this post, I feel you are directing that we should just stick to green smoothie since it has all the nutrients and the 12g of fibre so why juice it, right?
I was planning on asking the same questions! The only answer I can think of is we will do both in True Beauty phase, but to your point, if GGS is so much better, why juice?
Confused on this one..
Claudia
Hi guys!! I love the GGS myself but I have to tell you, don’t underestimate the power of a green juice. The juice with no fiber will be directly absorbed into your cells with no work required from your body. Kriss Carr talks extensively about the difference between juicing and blending ( she advocates both) in her book “Crazy, sexy diet” and “Crazy, sexy cancer”. She is an inspiration just like Kim!
Hi Kimberly :) Thanks for the great info! I’m just a little confused with the ‘true beauty’ phase in your book where it suggests the glowing green juice instead of the smoothie?
Kimberly , I know you don’t advocate counting calories, but I am not far enough in my weight loss to give that up, for that reason, can you give me an idea of the calories in the GGS? For 16 oz.’s? Thank you!!
Marcia, I look forward to Kim’s answer to this question. I can only say, my husband lost 35 pounds since March 13th 2012 and I lost 20 pounds and never counted a single calorie. We also did not eat high calorie, low nutritional foods and I think that is the biggest difference.
For example, we never eat sugar, artificial sweeteners, carbonated beverages, white rice, white potatoes, red meat, wheat, dairy, or bread and rarely eat fish or chicken. Therefore, eating high calorie foods from healthy sources is not an issue. (Oh, I guess we do have sugar and dairy sometimes—we love to get a dish of ice cream 1-2 times a month when we go to the beach!)
Another factor following Kimberly’s detox plan, we are never hungry between meals!
Best of health,
Claudia
Thanks a lot for introducing us to the GGS…i like it a lot and feel good about drinking it . I think i have fatty liver too since i have a lot of fat on my upper abs. I also have pcos. do u think having the GGS twice a day would help with the fatty liver problem. Is there any particular liver supplement u would recommend for battling the fatty liver probs. Thanks a lot again for all the healthful info you bring to us.
Hi! I was curious about spinach every day. My doctor says it can promote kidney stones due to the calcium in spinach. Help me with this as I LOVE the GGS!
All the Best – Suzanne
Hey, Suzanne. Kimberly posted about just that issue not too long ago. She recommends changing up your greens and fruits to avoid such issues. My question for Kimberly is do you have other recipes for the Green Smoothie that you really like? What are other good combinations of greens and fruits that taste good together? I’ve been experimenting, but the results aren’t always good! Thanks!
Here’s the link to that article: https://www.kimberlysnyder.net/blog/2012/05/29/response-to-article-how-green-smoothies-can-devastate-your-health/
Hi thanks for the fabulous GGS drink, but how I can have the recipe of that? Thanks
great!
Dear Kimberly,
I agree with your article, but in your book (it’s not in front of me), it seems that the highest level you recommended was a “juiced” GGS without the fiber. I thought you said in your book that that was even better than a GGS (the vitamins go even quicker into your system).
Have you changed your mind? Again, I don’t have your book in front of me (it’s home), so maybe you could clarify this.
Thanks – –
Dear Kim,
I absolutely love the GGS and drink it every day. My only problem is I don’t “rotate the greens” as you recommend to do because the original recipe is the only one I really like. I’ve tried with avocado or cucumber but it is not as good tasting and I have to force myself into drinking it. However I have tried substituting the water with coconut water and that’s delicious. Is this OK ?
Sorry for my english (I am French and live in Paris).
Thank you for everything, I am a huge fan and feel so much better since I begun eating the right way.
Love.
Alice
Hi Kim! I’ve been a daily drinker of the Glowing Green Smoothie since I did your program a year ago. I am not a vegan, but my diet is 85-90% plant based, and I’m working on transitioning completely. I had a question though. Is it okay to mix the greens? For instance, I’m a huge lover of kale. Can I use that? I don’t know which greens are essential to get the benefits from the smoothie! You changed my life with your program, so thank you!
Alexandra :)
great article, as always! :) even my 8 months old likes the GGS :)
Hi Kimberly,
I make the ggs everyday, and blend it on high for two minutes to make it extra smooth. Will the heat from my vitamix kill the enzymes?
Hi Kim
please give us more information on how to flush out our fatty livers
especially those of us with the roll !!!
besides the green smoothie what else can we do
Hi, I also would like to know — which liver tonic do you recommend?
Good afternoon. I love the GGS but was wondering if it would be ok to add a rice/raw protein to it? Looking to add protein to my diet and thought by adding to the GGS I could get an additional 15-30 grams of protein.
Thanks.
Brian, look at kale and spinach for protein in your smoothie…..
This was an interesting article and very informative. I was not aware that the liver functioned in this capacity. Thank you for sharing this Kim!!
Veronica
“It can also pump excess ________out of the body through the bile into the small intestines.”
I’m curious what is missing from this sentence!
Thank you.
Hi Kim,
Thank you for all those information. More than dieting is so much more important to understand that food is the fuel of the body and how everything works! When you understand all that you realize the beauty of our body and its strength. Nature is really well done <3
Another great article!
Thanks Kim!
Kimberly,
You are leading many people to health and to the truth and for that I thank you!
I believe Smoothies and Juice BOTH have EQUALLY important and specific purposes. The smoothie is great because we keep the fiber which is in fact very healthy and needed without question and fills us up if we’re having a smoothie for lunch. BUT the juice is necessary when we are fighting a serious illness such as CANCER or AIDS! After we’ve had our smoothie for lunch and gotten our needed fiber, we then NEED to make juice withOUT fiber to flood the body with the raw life giving nutrients it needs to heal serious diseases. The fiber slows and prevents absorption of nutrients. I cant eat 5lbs of carrots in a day but i can very easily drink the juice from them and become well.
Two seperate, specific and important roles.
Kimberly, please keep up the great work! You are very lovely and helping many people!
Nathan Whitney
I’ve used KALE, COLLARDS and SPINACH as my greens. I don’t like the lettuces too much. ALl of the greens are beneficial. Collards have a nice savory flavor!
I love, LOVE your GGS!! <3 I have been drinking it daily since your book came out (even bought a Vitamix to get the perfect texture!) and it has really changed my health and my life. I play around with the fruits – I use a pear OR an apple, not both – and I vary the greens – my latest obsession is to use sunflower sprouts I grow myself – but the basic recipe is absolute perfection. Thank you so much for all the great info you share, Kim!
Hey Kimberley. I loved your book and started implemtenting your recommendations a month ago. I have eliminated caffine, dairy, most gluten products, alcohol and refined sugar and reduced my animal protein to 4 times a week. I do slip up and have some of the above items sometimes. I start the day with probiotic, lemon water and an hour later GGS. Oat groats or brown rice for lunch and cooked vegtables for dinner and sometimes animal protein. I had a colonic done 2 weeks ago…gross but glad i got rid of a lot of junk. My skin looks great. Unfortunately, i have bloating a lot of the time and I’m constipated almost every day. What do you recommend to clear these issues up. I’m 49. Retired as a lettercarrier a year ago and live in Canada. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you
Question about the smoothie. Its hard to get apples and pears in the summer months. What fruits would be best to substitute with? Maybe berries? Also how about fezzing the fruit before blending?
Thanx
Hi Kimberly,
This is a great article for many reasons, but I do not agree that the GGS, or any smoothie, is “superior” to juice. Fiber is highly beneficial and serves many purposes as you so excellently point out, but… freshly pressed juices can be cleansing in removing waste also (without a fiber component).
While much of America enjoys fiberless foods, and can certainly benefit from incorporating the GGS into their diet (especially instead of their “factory made” “fiber rich” cereals and brans muffins), there will also be those that follow your blog, and book that are trying to update, or already have diets that consist mainly of fiber rich whole vegetables.
On top of that… while WHOLE foods were meant to be consumed WHOLE, as you also point out… it also took us years and years of eating the “old” way to accumulate such wastes. Juicing gives our digestive systems a little break, allowing the enzymes in our body to concentrate on “cleaning house” instead of breaking down new fibers, nutrients, etc. in a smoothie. I do not find that “Smoothie-ing” is *as* cleansing– and some may even have trouble digesting the (pre-digested) fibers because their system is so backed up.
If we believe in gravity based colon cleansing, something that is highly beneficial with the *right* diet, and also something that aids us in cleansing out the old (along with the juice and smoothies, etc.) then how can we criticize a juice for being “unnatural” because it is not whole. If we had the luxury of going back to Day 1, without ever being introduced to the foods we grew up on, or without ever being tempted by Today’s “Trick or Treats” — ALL WHOLE would be the way to go.
Enjoyed this article.
:)
Lauren
Hi Kimberly! I just ordered your book and look forward to this new venture. Can you tell me if I can make the GGS for someone with type 2 diabetes? She’s in her 80s and always dehydrated. I was hoping this would work, but am concerned about the sugar. Your feedback is appreciated. Peace.
The smoothie sounds great and I’m anxious to try it. Unfortunately I am allergic to bananas. Can I just leave it out or do I need to replace it with something else?
What are the ingridents in your green smoothie?
Is this diet/lifestyle ok for when you are trying to conceive or if you are pregnant?
Hi,
Does anyone know how many calories are in a 16 oz. serving of the GGS? I really need to know ASAP.
Thanks!
Please post recipe for GGS please. I misplaced mine. Thanks Kim
There is so much mention about the Vitamix, whether this blender is better than that blender, etc., and little mention about the Glowing Green Smoothie “glow”.
I’ve been taking this smoothie for over three months and see no results.
Is anyone seeing a glowing skin or skin improvements as a result of this smoothie?
I use a Vitamix, eat healthy, no processed foods, don’t have a sweet tooth, and basically watch what I eat due to IBS, and yet no results?
I noticed you’re selective on which posts you answer so hope you take the time to reply.
I’ve been drinking the smoothie for two or three weeks and have finally bought your book and am following your guidelines as best I can. Everything is going well, and I have a couple questions – I love chia seeds and am always tempted to add them to the smoothie. Is this ok? Or do they have too much protein for the start of the day?
I also really like kombucha and brew my own – I haven’t found anything in your blog or book about your opinions about kombucha. Do you like approve of it?
Help. I lost my green smoothie recipe. Can someone re-post it to me . Thanks bunches. LINDA
Adelaide
You brew your own kombucha? Can you tell me what you do? I really like a bottle of Kombucha from my local store, but its expensive, so I don’t get one as often as I would like.
Karen
hi kim,
can i add 1-2 garlic cloves to the smoothie as it good for cholesterol?can i add it daily?many thanks
Lettuce is seasonal in Danmark (april til october) can I replace it with something else??
Thanx
You could replace it with any leafy alternative. Some examples would be Spinach, Kale, SeaWeed(salty), or you could even had sprouts.
Hi Kim,
I’ve been suffering with low-grade acid and irritation when I eat for the last couple of months. After having an endoscopy the doctor said I have inflammation in my stomach and esophogus. I started the smoothie last week (less the celery) every morning. And strangely, I can still feel the burn in my stomach. After watching your FOX special, I opted to add tumeric to it. Tastes great! But still, I can feel the burn. Do you think there is something I should omit, or something else to add?
PS I love you! And I would just like to add, that I really appreciate your dedication and the passion excitement that you bring to your interviews. Wearing a dress and demoing lower back stretches??? (I too suffer from a lower bulged disc for 2 years now) Unheard of for morst people who are simply promoting a product on television. I really, really admire you. Truly an inspiration!
Hi Kimberley
I have just finished reading your book The Beauty Detox Solution. Thought I would be board to death but I found that I could not put it down. I have been doing the Green Smoothie for a week now and have lost 2 pounds. But what I would like to know is the nutritional content of the smoothie. Particularly the calcium content. As I suspected all along dairy products are not good for you as you confirmed that for me in your book. I am hoping that I am getting enough calcium from the Green Smoothie so that I don’t have to worry about it. Also my son is doing the cave man diet but he is taking supplements and I would like to tell him that if he did the Green Smoothie he will get all the calcium and nutrients he needs and I wouldn’t have to worry about him or the fact that he’s taking supplements. Please advise. Thank you.
Kimberly,
I was very skeptical of your book at first. What could this pretty young thing possibly know about nutrition? I have discovered you are wise beyond your years.
I recently retired and vowed to loose all the weight and get my health back. I decided to pack my Vitamix, a copy of “The Beauty Detox Solution”, of course, and relocate to sunny West Palm Beach, Florida for a year. WPB gives me great weather and access to the Hippocrates Health Institute’s all you can eat raw food bar for some of the best sprouts in the country.
I started your detox program in the middle of January 2013, after blowing up to a whopping 298 Lbs. I was doing all the wrong things meat, fish, eggs, cheese, coffee, and lots of oil. I switched to a Vegan diet and eliminated all oils and fats. Following your program and exercising, I do not miss the meat and fat. I always have my lemon juice and water in the morning followed by a green smoothie. No matter what follows food wise, I have had some nutritious greens. My other meals consist of whole foods and starch. I feel so much healthier, now. The results are nothing short of amazing. I have gone from 298 Lbs. down to 262 Lbs. in the two months I have been on the detox program. Yes, that is a total of 36 Lbs. off my 5’11” frame in two months. I am just getting started, by the end of the year I will give you another progress update.
The best part is I do not have to count calories and I eat whenever I am hungary. The down side, sometimes my jaws tire from eating so much high quality food. I eat literally from morning to night. Another benefit, my arthritis and allergies have suddenly disappeared after switching to the Vegan diet.
I owe you,
Alvin in WPB
P.S.
Thank you for the introduction, via your book, to the Hippocrates Health Institute. It is wonderful spot for dinner and additional health information.
Melissa,
Have you ever found out an answer to your question? How many calories are in 16 oz of GGS. Would be very help full to know.
Is it a no-no to add sugar substitute to the GGS? I’ve started throwing in a fresh lemon and some stevia, which leaves a lemonade after taste in my mouth. Much preferable to the green after taste I get that sometimes makes it difficult for me to get the rest of the GGS down :(
Melissa,
Have you ever found out an answer to your question? How many calories are in 16 oz of GGS. Would be very help full to know.
According to one website it’s about 173 calories per 16 oz. https://www.fatsecret.com/Diary.aspx?pa=fjrd&rid=2971274
I really like what you guys are up too. This type of clever work
and exposure! Keep up the excellent works guys I’ve included you guys to blogroll.
Excellent website. Lots of useful info here. I’m sending it to some pals ans additionally sharing in delicious. And naturally, thank you in your sweat!
