Who doesn’t like Mexican food? It’s always been a crowd pleaser. And even meat lovers have told me that this “taco meat” tastes like the ground beef served in regular tacos. This is one of my favorite raw dishes—I love the spices, which really work with the walnuts, a great beauty food to soften your skin and keep it moisturized from within. I’ve made these taco wraps for many of my clients, especially on movie sets when they need something to pick up between takes and don’t have time to sit down and eat.
I make that recipe a lot, at least once every two weeks, and eat the “meat” in different ways!!! But I have a question: do I have to soak the nuts? And if so, for how long?
Thanks!
Great idea. I will try this recipe this week!
Do I have to soak the nuts?
As a carnivore, and someone of Mexican decent. These are SO good! don’t hesitate making these. I replaced the collard leaf with a romaine leaf, its easier to chew and has a lighter taste. So yummy!
I am going to soak the walnuts.
I thought that protein should be saved for dinner time so I’m confused why this is suggested as a lunch option ?
They are delicious, I tried them with lettuce and filled me up really well through the day, also great as leftovers
Thanks,
Quickest, tastiest dinner ever!
So many of your recipes are amazing and I love them! I am helping a friend with meal planning and wanted to incorporate some of your recipes. However she is gluten free and soy free, do you have any suggestions for tamari replacements?
Hi Jennifer and thanks for being such a great support to your friend. Here’s a link where you can actually buy Gluten Free Tamari: https://amzn.to/2mdoY28. Most stores carry this item so you shouldn’t have trouble locating it. Otherwise, you can use the link to buy. You can also use Bragg Liquid Aminos. Link here: https://amzn.to/2lbZMcy Lots of love and support to you, and happy cooking! ;)
Hi Jennifer, I also can’t do soy and use coconut aminos which is nearly as good as soy sauce.
I love this recipe, as someone with ms and poly arthritis I have been able to enjoy this meal on many occasions and not feel guilty about how it will affect me later. I’m plant based and this has been a wonderful addition to my menu
I’m so glad you’re enjoying these wraps! Happy cooking, Beauty!
This is my favorite recipe of KS’s! I love it!
Awe, thanks so much Sarah. It’s one of my favs too! Lots of love to you! Xo
