Today, I want to share a fun, yummy recipe that’s perfect for the winter–my Glowing Green Soup, or #GGSO as we like to call it!
It’s not a substitute for the Glowing Green Smoothie®, but it can be a powerful addition to your diet and bring more warmth to your body, which is very important at this time of the year.
Check it out and let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
Lots of love,
Kimberly
The soup looks delicious! I cannot eat tomatoes any suggestions for what to substitute for them.
Can you heat the GGOs on the stove? Have you heard of oil pulling, and if so what are your thoughts?
What do you think of Garden of Life Perfect Food Raw, Organic Green Super Food Powder to add to the ggs? (my ggs is definitely not 70 % greens…)
How many cups of almond milk? It doesn’t say in the video :/
That looks really yummy! Can we find a written version of the recipe anywhere?
Made this for lunch yesterday. It was so delish, I told my husband to pick up more spinach and tomatoes so I can make more soon. My 11 yr old son slurped it down and we all loved it. I did let it whirl for awhile in the Vitamix until it warmed up a bit. Hope this is ok. Thanks for the great recipe, Kimberly. I have also been addicted to your red cabbage slaw recipe for lunch. I eat it every other day, I love it so much!
So, I wasn’t sure where to write this or if it would even be noticed. I do have a question concerning health/lifestyle change. I just read The Beauty Detox, and I loved it. I am concerned, however, because I do not want to lose any weight. I am already very lean and tall (5’8″ and 120 lbs). My husband (and doctors) say I am underweight. How do I maintain my current weight or even gain some “healthy” weight? I constantly feel hungry after eating salads, and I don’t feel satisfied. Thoughts?
Sounds delicious, can’t wait to try it. I also would like to know how much almond milk goes in and if its ok to heat a little. Thanks, Kimberly.
From the video it looked like about 1 cup. That’s what I used and it turned out well. Could probably use less to have a thicker soup.
I just made this with only arugula and it’s a little bitter. If you do use arugula (Eve if you love the flavor) mix it with baby spinach to balance the spicy and bitter flavor of the arugula. Also, if it’s hard for you to eat cold, raw soup, try it with some toasted seaweed for that crunch
hello, is this soup supposed to be eaten cold or warm ? if warm, how do you heat it ?
And what quantity of the milk do we have to use ?
thanx for the answer !
Marie from Belgium.
You can heat the almond milk first (not boiling, but moderately hot) and then you blend it with the raw veggies.
can it be made warm by just leaving it in the vitamix blending longer
what can you use instead of almond milk?
Hemp milk, coconut milk, or even organic vegetable broth.
Please tell us how much milk to use.
Thank you!
I made it today with lunch. Loved it!!! Next time I’ll squirt a little lemon juice on the top.
Great video.
I have a vitamix dvd and i it I’ve seen the blender make hot/warm soup by letting it blend longer. The longer it blends, the more friction heats the ingreadients. Kim, would you recommend making it hot that way ?
