You may have gotten your fair share of the sun this summer, and perhaps you ate not-so-ideally at some late summer barbecues! No worries, as I have the perfect recipe to help heal your beauty on both fronts.
The red pepper (the base of this dressing) has a great flavor, and is bursting with skin-brightening vitamin C (which also helps correct photo aging sun damage), as well as vitamins A and K. The important antioxidant vitamins A and C help prevent cell damage and premature aging, and also helps reduce inflammation. Vitamin K also has great cell-beautifying properties, by helping to protect our cells from oxidative damage.
Cilantro has cleansing and detoxifying properties, and can help chelate (bind and escort out) heavy metals which are aging and can diminish your beauty. Heavy metals can get into your body from the environment, or even factory farmed meats (you eat what the animals you eat consume!), the water supply, etc.
Salad dressing really can make all the difference in truly enjoying your meal. They also totally can set you back when you are using processed dressings. When you start to make your own salad dressings you will notice how amazing it feels to know what your covering your leafy greens in something equally delicious and beautifying. Oil-Free Red Pepper & Cilantro Dressing Recipe
Ingredients
- ½ red pepper seeded and cored
- ¾ cup fresh cilantro
- 1 small tomato
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 ½ Tbs. of lemon juice
- ½ tsp. Celtic sea salt
- 1 Tbs. filtered water
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp. organic unpasteurized miso paste or sea salt
- 1 tsp. raw apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Enjoy fresh, or store up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
