I spent a lot of time researching and writing about the root of cravings in my most recent book The Beauty Detox Power. Food cravings are something most all of us (including me!) have struggled with at some point or another…or perhaps on a chronic, ongoing basis.
As always, today I am sending you a smoothie recipe, some tips and new ideas to inspire you in the kitchen. We all know that familiar urge of just wanting that immediate satisfaction and overwhelmingly strong “need” for a particular food. (Sorry if the delicious photo below isn’t helping :)!)
I wanted to share my Chocolate and Sprout Love Shake with you today that will not only satisfy your sweet cravings, but will also supply you with a potent dose of beautifying and healthy nourishment. :)
Beyond attempting to beat a craving with willpower alone, it is important to understand why we get cravings in the first place. That topic is part of a larger conversation that I write in detail about in The Beauty Detox Power, but I wanted to share that when chocolate cravings consistently arise, you may be seeking love at a deeper emotional level. This also and foremost includes self-love.
With this recipe, you can indulge in some chocolate in way of antioxidant-filled raw cacao while simultaneously fostering more appreciation and love for yourself by including some super-nourishing sprouts. Speaking of nourishing your body, remember that green is the color of the heart chakra, and green sprouts are an incredibly nourishing food to consume as an act of self-love.
These nutritious sprouts are a good source of healthy fats, fiber, protein and iron. They are a concentrated source of calories and provide you with enzymes, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
Let’s move past feeling that we are controlled by food and start by filling our bodies with this amazingly delicious smoothie that is loaded with emotionally and beautifying nutrients.
Enjoy with gratitude for yourself, because you are awesome! ;)

I would guess liquid stevia would be much less in amount?
