We’re heading deeper into the colder months which makes this the perfect time for comfort foods coated with none-other-than a creamy delicious sauce. In addition to the sweet potatoes in my Garlic Tomato Basil Sweet Potato Noodles Recipe, it is also combined with other nutritious veggies, garlic and herbs. This dish is easy, fun, filling and light—who can ask for anything more?!
Sweet Potatoes…
You Beauties have heard me talk about sweet potatoes many times here on the blog and in other Beauty Detox recipes (they’re my jam!)—as they are an absolute staple in the Beauty Detox lifestyle.
As you can see from their beautifully brilliant orange color, they are packed with vitamins A, B6 and C and are naturally low in sodium, and very low in saturated fat and cholesterol. Another amazing benefit is that they’re a good source of dietary fiber (making them wonderfully filling), and able to digest well.

Sweet potatoes are also chock-full of minerals and vitamins, making them a healthy beauty must!
Garlic Sauce…
Garlicy sauces are tasty, but typically many recipes often call for butter or other dairy, which is a Beauty nightmare! Instead, I wanted to create a healthier and beautifying version, that’s still delicious and guilt-free. You may have noticed I have not been eating as much garlic or onion personally since I’ve learned that I have a lot of Pitta dosha in my constitution, as outlined by Ayurveda, and it can be overly stimulating for me personally. Still, I enjoy it from time to time.
Why garlic? Because it does have some great health properties. These bulbs can be extremely helpful in cleaning out toxins from our bodies, and that’s numero uno for us Beauty Detoxers. Garlic promotes an important flushing mechanism to support our ongoing cleansing efforts and boost our immunity (which is from the peristalsis and diuretic actions).
Its potency helps to eliminate intestinal unbalances—removing unwanted parasites and unfriendly bacteria. Though strong in flavor, some garlic can certainly help keep those nutrient-suckers at bay!
Another favorite fact is that garlic is so potent, it can dissolve mucus in the sinus cavities! As a result, it flushes waste out of our systems—for good! What an amazing benefit for all of us Beauties, but especially for those still transitioning away from dairy!
Garlic also helps poisons exit the body through the pores of the skin, but a little smell might be worth it for some cleansing action. Just be careful not to get too close to your fellow co-workers and friends (unless they share the love of this garlicky dish with you!). ;)
