Okay, so to be real this recipe isn’t the exact same thing as eating a big ole piece of carrot cake, BUT it’s pretty darn good and gives you plenty of beauty nutrients to boot. Introducing…my new Carrot Cake Smoothie Recipe.

Beauty Food #25: Carrots
We’ve all heard at some point in our lives, that carrots are good for the eyes. While this is true, did you know carrots should be one of your top beauty foods to help create gorgeous hair too?! Carrots are #25 on my top Beauty Foods list from my book The Beauty Detox Foods, as an awesome hair-building food.
This bright colored orange root contains the highest amounts of beta-carotene, the precursor for Vitamin A. Vitamin A is necessary for a well-moisturized and shiny head of hair, but most important is in promoting a healthy scalp—which is needed for the growth of healthy hair. So carrots got your back- or in this case, your hair :).
Another amazing benefit is that natural healers have long believed that carrots possess strong cleansing properties that are extremely effective in cleansing our livers—removing toxins from the blood and thus, aiding in transporting nutrients and nourishing hair, and all around our bodies.

If that wasn’t enough to get you started on this smoothie, carrots also contain calcium, potassium, iron, fiber, vitamins B1, B2, B6, C, K, and biotin—amazing, anti-aging and beautifying properties. Let’s carrot- up and make this awesome smoothie!!
You can find more creative ways to include more carrots in your daily routines, in The Beauty Detox Solution book, under Beauty Detox recipes in Part III. As you can see, I am a big carrot lover :).

This looks delicious! Since you have referred to this as a “treat” how often, in a week, for instance, could this be consumed?
Hi Vaughan…if you are in the Blossoming Beauty stage, I would wait to have this smoothie. If you don’t have any real candida issues and are past the first stage, then one time a week should be okay, but always listen to your body and how you feel after you have drinks with natural sugars (like the dates). Sending you lots of love and support! ;)
Absolutely delicious! A very sweet smoothie!
