Even if it’s still hot outside, it’s nice to have warming recipes all year round. It makes you feel snug as it warms up your metabolism and contributes to good digestion, not to mention glowing skin!
When I feel like I need a boost, I start to think of new recipes that will continue to bring out our beauty, from the inside out, of course! And my Warming Glow Smoothie Recipe is sure to do just that—with it’s warming ginger and beautifying strawberries—just to name a few of it’s ingredients.
Radical Beauty: Attainable Warming Glow
If you’ve read through my book Radical Beauty, then you’ll know I break down six pillars, one being all about Internal Nourishment & Diet.
Each Pillar (including the Internal Nourishment & Diet pillar), is packed with beauty-enhancing tips and takeaways, smart and effective tools, innovative daily routines, DIY skincare masks and delicious food ideas!
Of course these six pillars all go hand-in-hand with creating the beauty and health we all long for, and wish to maintain.
My goal in co-authoring this book with Deepak Chopra was to redefine beauty to be an empowering, attainable concept for all women and people. Radical Beauty encompasses all parts of your inner and outer being—including bringing out that natural glow we all are capable of attaining.
Let us always remember to focus on all the pillars (Peak Beauty Sleep, Primal Beauty, Internal Nourishment, External Nourishment, Movement and Spiritual Beauty), that work together to create your highest potential beauty, including dietary shifts that will optimize your digestion and create nutritional balance—leading to brighter skin, healthier hair, a more fit body, and a more grounded, peaceful mind.
Radical Beauty is YOURS and does not come from a skin product with artificial ingredients, but healthy food choices and consistency.
Let’s look into what this warming smoothie has in it, and how we can benefit!
Strawberries & Ginger
All-Around Skin-Beautifier & Gut Enhancer: Strawberries
Yes, if you’re looking to brighten your skin and tighten your pores, then salicylic acid is just the thing to remove dead cells from your skin to encourage new cell growth. And you guessed it—strawberries have the presence of Vitamin C, salicylic acid, and antioxidants to help with that cell growth.
Strawberries all contain ellagic acid which helps in preventing skin damage and making your skin look younger and fresher. And who doesn’t have the occasional acne issue? No worries there! When it comes to preventing acne, strawberries are amazingly effective in clearing acne and reducing oil buildup. So great, right?! You would have thought your favorite childhood fruit could do all that.
Strawberries also have the power to fight free radicals by providing vitamin C—which is involved in the production of collagen—for smoother skin.
When it comes to feeling beautiful from the inside out, it really starts in our guts, so we want to make sure we are adding beauty foods that will make our assimilation and digestion run smoothly (this needs to be daily!).
Strawberries are rich in variety of antioxidants and phytochemicals which helps in fighting inflammatory disorders. We will naturally keep our waistline down as long as we keep the inflammation down.
Another thing I love about these red gems is they contain nitrates—promoting blood flow and oxygen throughout the body—resulting in that warming glow we want all year round.
Get yourself over to your local farmers market and eat these Lil guys while they’re at their best Beauties!
Warming Root: Ginger
As if the warming effects of strawberries weren’t enough, here comes the ginger! This amazing root is great at promoting detoxification, elevating your metabolism and immunity, and is warming (without being irritating).
It provides such a unique and earthy fresh flavor to any smoothie, and is really one of the best all around health and beauty foods out there. Not just great for cold weather (but warmer weather too!), ginger is a warming herb, so you will feel it every bit as much as you taste it.
Think of it as a warm, comforting hug for your insides and take comfort that you’re boosting your beauty and your immunity—contributing to the Radical Beauty that you know you have the power to attain!
