As I have been touting for years, beauty is built from both the inside and the outside! Today, I am so excited because I am sharing a very special blog post with you. Instead of a traditional recipe this week, Beauties, I am switching it up a little and showing how you can make your very own Mango Skin Mask!
The first ingredient — and one of my favorite fruits of all time — is mango. I mean…who doesn’t love the taste of mangos? And besides the bomb flavor, mangos are loaded with vitamins C & A. Consuming just one cup of mango provides 35% of your daily vitamin A needs, which helps maintain healthy skin, and 100% of your daily vitamin C, which is required for collagen formation. Oh yeah!
The best part? Mangos are available all year-round! That’s right: there are six different varieties of mango sold in the U.S. that have staggered growing seasons, so you can make your Mango Skin Mask, or your favorite mango dish for that matter, at any time of year!
Prepping Your Mango
Before you get going on making your Mango Skin Mask, let me quickly brief you on one of my favorite ways to cut a mango for the recipe. First off, always use a clean knife and cutting board to cut your mango. Sanitize your hands, work area, utensils and cutting board before handling or cutting any fruits or vegetables, especially if you’ve handled any type of meat or seafood. And always wash the mango before cutting. This is an important step to keep everything truly clean!
Now go ahead and slice each side of your mango just past the seed. Then slice the flesh of your mango without breaking the skin. Here is a visual of cutting mangos for your reference. Now (happily!), your mango is all ready for you to scoop out and add into your blender or food processor to make your special mask!
Mango Skin Mask Recipe
Gather your Mango Skin Mask ingredients together, which are listed for you here:
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mango
- 1/3 coconut yogurt
- 2 Tbs. raw honey
To make your Mango Skin Mask, add all of your ingredients in your blender or food processor and blend them together until smooth.
Applying Your Mango Skin Mask
After you’ve made your mask, wash your hands and face thoroughly, making sure all of your makeup is off.
Now that you have clean hands and a beautifully clean face, gently layer your Mango Skin Mask on your face. Be sure to apply within one hour or so of making your mask, and make sure to avoid contact with your eyes and take your time applying.
Leave the mask on your face for 10 minutes. Go ahead and close your eyes and take a moment to relax! You can use these precious minutes to sneak in a light meditation or do some breathing exercises.
After your 10 minutes are up, you can go ahead and rinse off the mask with cool water. Following this, I would suggest using your favorite moisturizer.

Lots of love,
I love homemade concoctions like this, especially when i get to eat the reaming 3/4 of a mango :D
Me too Jordan! Sending you so much love! ;)
Will there be any leftovers? If so, how long will it stay good and should it be refrigerated?
Hi love! This mask recipe makes one application, so there shouldn’t be any leftovers. Hope you enjoy trying it out!
What are the best ways to pick out a “good” mango? Would a ripe mango be best?
Great question, Beauty! I recommend using a ripe mango for the mask. To learn more about how to choose a mango, follow this link: https://www.mango.org/how-to-choose-a-mango/

When you say coconut yogurt, do you mean just coconut flavored? I live in Atlantic Canada, and all I seem to find are coconut flavored yogurts, some with 7-9 % fat, others that are more fat free. Which would you recommend? Thank you so much for sharing all your beauty tips <3
Hi Beauty! I recommend trying to find coconut yogurt, made from coconut milk and dairy-free. Usually the coconut-flavored dairy yogurts are high in sugar and of course contain dairy, which I avoid, especially for maintaining healthy skin. I personally enjoy the GT’s Cocoyo brand, but there are lots of other good organic coconut yogurt brands on the market!
