Hi Beauties,
Our topic for today is CBD Oil: Miracle or Hype? Maybe you’ve tried CBD, maybe you’re curious about it, or your friend’s using it. It’s everywhere right now. So let’s get right into it. Let’s get into some of the research, the history of it, and some of the ailments it’s purported to help and some more information. I want to make sure that we talk about it from our Beauty Detox Solluna perspective.
CBD’s History
First of all, I just want to state that even though it’s popular now it has been used for a long time historically. In fact, there is evidence to show that the Chinese emperor in 27, 37 BC used a cannabis infused tea to help with different ailments such as memory loss and rheumatism. And it’s also said that Queen Victoria is believed to have used CBD to help with her menstrual cramps.
Sometimes the things that are considered new age or new are actually quite ancient and had been around for a long time but they’re just starting to get hot now. Sort of like turmeric, being around in our Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years.
Studies on CBD
National Institutes of Health Study
Some of the common reasons that people turn to CBD, has to do with anxiety and depression. There’s a study from the National Institutes of Health suggesting that CBD oil can help with anti-anxiety stress reducing effects.
It said that the CBD which has an effect on our endocannabinoid system helps to relax your nervous system. More research is probably always warranted and needed for those that are really looking to the research as their primary deciding factor. This research is preliminary, however, it does suggestion that it can be very effective with anxiety, with depression.
Neurotherapeutics Journal Study
There is another study from 2015 in a Neurotherapeutics Journal that states that “clinical evidence, strongly supports CBD as a treatment for generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and post traumatic stress syndrome.”
Benefits and Uses of CBD Oil
CBD oil for heart disease and seizures
Now this is an interesting one. There is research coming out that suggests that CBD can help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress that can contribute to heart disease.
Also, there is evidence that suggests that CBD can also be very helpful for seizures. I mean it goes on, and on, and on. There’s more and more research coming out about it covering all these different potential uses.
Side Effects When Using CBD Oil
Now there may be some side effects. A review study by the National Institutes of Health found that some people may experience changes in appetite, loose bowel movements, even some weight gain or weight loss.
I just want to point out that the long term effects of CBD from a clinical research standpoint still need to be determined, however, CBD experimentally seems to be helping a lot of people. It seems to reduce or even possibly avoid pharmaceutical medications that people may be going to for some of these anxiety and depression disorders. Because it is plant derived and natural, I think this is really exciting. I think this can really help a lot of people.
Consulting Your Doctor When Using CBD Oil
If you are considering trying CBD for any of the aforementioned ailments or other ones you could talk to your doctor to see if it’s right for you. Look into it more. From my standpoint, I personally know a lot of people that use CBD and swear by it, they love it. I’ve tried it.
For me the effects are more subtle but I also don’t have a specific anxiety or depression order that I am looking for relief from. I’m probably not the best person to ask about my personal experience with it. However, anecdotally speaking, I love hearing about all the people that are benefiting from it and loving it. And just the tinctures, the patches, there are so many different ways that it can be administered.
In Closing
I think it’s exciting and can be potentially wonderful. You will want to make sure that if you’re going to use CBD you use a very high quality brand. There’s a lot of products out there claiming to be CBD that are not. It’s going to be pretty expensive if it’s true CBD because the extraction process is very expensive.
Look for high quality and check with your doctor. I think it’s amazing and I think that the preliminary research is very supportive.
Thank you so much Beauty for tuning in. As always, I send you tons of gratitude and love. I will see you back here soon. Have a great day and take great care of yourself!
Can you recommend a high quality brand of cbd
Hi Beauty! There is not a specific brand I recommend, but I encourage looking for a high-quality, pure, organic CBD supplement.
Which are high quality brands?
Hi Jennifer! There is not a specific brand I recommend, but I encourage keeping an eye out for high-quality, pure, organic CBD brands when you are looking.
I take a full spectrum CBD oil for my anxiety and it is a life saver! I recommend it to friends all the time, but I also make sure to tell them to do their research and to purchase only high quality CBD oil at respectable outlets. Also, it can be pricey so you do need to budget for it but the effects are absolutely worth it.
I absolutely agree, Beauty! Making sure to find high quality CBD oil is worth it!
