This super simple recipe is something I whip up for my clients (and myself!) as a healthy and easy alternative to oily tortilla chips! It’s great for whenever you have a craving for something crispy to munch on, and/or are a huge Mexican food fan and want something chip-like.
Here’s one brand I like and use sometimes- the Food for Life Brown Rice Tortillas. There is a small amount of safflower oil in this product (which isn’t the most ideal), but one big whole tortilla only has 2.5 grams of fat. I don’t eat these tortillas every day, but I sure like having them as an option when I’m in the mood for healthy “chips” and salsa.
And the best part? You’re done in just 3 easy steps!
- Lightly toast gluten-free brown rice tortillas
- Cut into triangles on cutting board once cooled
- Serve with a ‘lil guac or lots of salsa.
Here I packed up the oil-free brown rice “tortilla chips” with a jicama-cilantro salsa for a client (she happens to love Mexican food, so I make these for her as a treat sometimes. She’s already given up sour cream and other of her former Mexicana go-to’s…and is doing great!)
Chew them well, and be sure to take a digestive enzyme first!
These chips would be wonderful served with my Asian Tang Dressing, a new recipe from Beauty Detox Foods. The book also features over 87 other healthy and delicious recipes, all of which are gluten-free, soy-free, and combined for optimal digestion.
We even have a special giveaway with amazing prizes like the Vitamix blender, an organic makeup set from Vapour, and more! Click here for details on how to enter!
I am trying to click the btton to enter for the contest, but it wont do anything, is there someting I can do to enter the cotest?
Thanks,
Karen

Since I bought your book and changed my way of eating, I began to bleed. Trough my birth control pil, I began to menstruate. At first I thought that it was a part of the detoxification, but I’m still bleading for more than a month now and I don’t know if it’s healthy keep going on with the detox diet. Also I have doubts about the effect on my birth control pil. I hope you can finally give me the answer to this problem so I can still continue your beauty detox.
Lots of love…
Does toast mean bake also? If so, for how long and at what temp. also, I am loving some of the foods. I drink a green smoothie each morning and love it. I’ve had a gastric bypass. Any suggestions for people with weight-loss surgery?
I can’t wait to try this!!! Thank you KImberly :)

Hi!! I love the idea of brown rice tortillas, but actually here in Mexico we have a nice brand that makes tortillas with cactus! (these are really tasty, though a little bit fragile than the real corn-made stuff. Here is their website (in Spanish, sorry) h
Hi Kimberly,
Great idea!
I am a huge fan of Ezekiel brand sprouted whole grain wraps. Those are 100% oil free. I will have to try and see how they toast up as a chip option!
Thanks for sharing!

I also believe that mesothelioma is a exceptional form of many forms of cancer that is often found in those previously familiar with asbestos. Cancerous cells form while in the mesothelium, which is a protecting lining which covers the majority of the body’s areas. These cells ordinarily form inside lining with the lungs, mid-section, or the sac that really encircles one’s heart. Thanks for discussing your ideas.
