Citrus Immunity Boosting Smoothie

I try to keep my immunity super strong with my lifestyle choices. And you can do the same with my Citrus Immunity Boosting Smoothie Recipe that is filled with nutrients that will prepare us all for the inevitable shifts that are coming our way, as summer dwindles down and life starts to get a little busier again.

One of the most important keys to skin beauty and health is optimal digestion, and continuously removing waste from your system. It’s also important to keep your immunity up, to keep yourself fortified and from getting depleted from illness.

Beauty Citrus: Oranges & Limes


Fruit is straight up, one of the best beauty foods. It scares me that some people are scared of eating fruit because of its natural sugars! It does for sure contain some, but it is in a complete nutritional package and has so many countless other nutrients that it would truly be a shame to miss out on them! It has the highest water content of any of the food groups and supplies us with vital amino acids, minerals, vitamins and fatty acids. Fruit also breaks down the fastest in our system—leaving no toxic residue—and supplying us with readily available energy that can be used for immediate fuel.

I love to chose this bright colored jewel to add into my #smoothiesunday recipes because of  how juicy and sweet they are. They are known for their concentration of vitamin C, and make the perfect snack—adding a special tang to many recipes.

What’s great is oranges are generally available throughout the year (depending on the variety), which makes it the perfect ingredient to have handy for those afternoon smoothies.

Citrus and Cellulite

And guess what?! Citrus fruit is a natural way to rid our bodies of cellulite, due to the boost of vitamin C that rebuilds and repairs skin collagen (which is what prevents cellulite from being visible)!

Remember that while this fruit is truly healthy, it must be eaten once our bodies are cleansed enough and our guts are in balance enough to handle the fruit sugar. Learn more about this in my Beauty Detox Solution!

As I mentioned earlier, of all foods, fruit is the strongest cleanser for our bodies and because it dissolves toxic substances and cleanses our tissues and system, this bright orange fella is a great addition to our beautifying routine. It supplies us with fiber, minerals such as calcium, antioxidants and enzymes.


Just like those yellow-fellows (lemons!), that really are a true beauty detox food staple—limes have loads of vitamin C, enzymes, and cleansing properties.

They are not as cleansing or as powerful as lemons, but they still have good cleansing properties.

Remember too that, exogenous toxins (or those coming from the outer environment like: air pollution, contaminants in the food and water supply, etc.), are constantly surrounding us.

And even if somehow you lived in a little bubble and had no exogenous toxins coming your way, there are all those endogenous toxins, which are the ones created internally from the natural bi-products of metabolism and cell renewal.

Bottom line: The more we can help support your body’s own natural cleansing properties, the better.

Lime juice also rejuvenates the skin and protects it from infections. It can help reduce overall body odor. Wow, right!? We are and what we smell like – from our food! Limes help with the stinkies a high amount of vitamin C and flavonoids, and are high in antioxidants.

Limes also have antibiotic and disinfectant properties, so when you apply it externally on the skin, its acids scrub out dead cells, and cure dandruff, rashes and bruises. Talk about being healthy from the inside out! ;)

Immunity Boost

Not to be a broken record, but germs are everywhere, as are carcinogens and other toxins that could be detrimental to your health. And since we can’t control those things, we can at least care for what is in our control—and that’s your own immunity.

Keeping Our Guts Healthy

Since your intestines play such a key role in maintaining your body’s overall immunity, maintaining gut health is essential. Remember those toxins that can build up on intestinal walls, overflowing into the rest of your body and keeping you from enjoying vibrant health.

Well, we want to do whatever we can to to prevent that overflow. Fortunately, your lifestyle habits can help you maintain a healthy gut you an be proud of. I outline my full plan for gut health in my Beauty Detox Solution book.

Here is a sneak peak into some of the steps you’ll want to take to protect your immunity, via gut health:

  • Eat mostly organic plant foods including plenty of fresh fruits (like the oranges in this recipe), and vegetables.
  • Have plenty of beneficial gut flora by taking an excellent probiotic supplement twice a day.
  • Eat my Probiotic & Enzyme Salad several times a week to help foods digest better.
  • Take antibiotics only when absolutely necessary! They are life-saving sometimes, but they should not be taken casually. This is because antibiotics kill off all types of bacteria, good and bad. Now this doesn’t mean that there won’t be some instances where it is authentically warranted, but you can fortify it and its natural power by the food choices you make.

Prepare ingredients.

Add the peeled and quartered orange to your high-powered blender.

Next, add the peeled and diced mango.

Then, the fresh squeezed lime juice.

Add the coconut water. Starting on low until smooth.

  • 1 orange, peeled
  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 lime, juice only
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • Optional toppings: coconut flakes, fresh mango
  1. Blend orange, mango, lime juice, and coconut water in blender, starting on low until smooth.
  2. Top with optional toppings if desired and serve immediately.
  3. Enjoy!
