Hi Beauties,

Today we’re going talk about nontoxic alternatives to Retinol. A personal passion of mine is skincare. I love skincare! I think it’s really important how we take care of the largest organ that we have, which is our skin.

We all want bright, beautiful, glowing, smooth skin. We also don’t want to resort to ingredients and products which are actually going to damage our skin. Or our bodies long-term, as ingredients are  absorbed, and  processed by our liver.

Is Retinol Right for You?

Retinol is one of those ingredients that perhaps your dermatologist has prescribed to you. I definitely have been given Retinol in the past, especially when I had really bad acne. It has been used for conditions such as acne. It’s also a very popular anti-aging remedy because it does increase cell overturn.

We know that it increases sun sensitivity. So if you’re using Retinol, it’s necessary to be out of the sun. Don’t go into direct sunlight. It will increase that sensitivity. But what concerns me even more is that pregnant women are urged not to use Retinol products. And this again is beyond just the sun sensitivity.

But there’s something about Retinol, which can actually accumulate, and build up in the body. It can have a detrimental effect on the developing fetus. I always say, “Wow. If we’re not supposed to use something while we’re pregnant, it probably means that it’s not great to use any time!”

Or consume it at any time. This is the case of certain types of fish, which are loaded with heavy metals. Unfortunately, because of the pollution of our waterways. We know that these fish are basically sponges for heavy metals. We don’t want to consume them when we’re pregnant.” But again, I don’t want to eat such foods when I’m not pregnant either.

Skincare Alternatives to Retinol for Beauty & Health

It’s the same thing with skincare. I would caution all of us to be wary of the products that we use long-term. Make sure that it’s part of our overall regime of self-care and fostering vitality. Not just in our skin but throughout our organs overall.

In that regard, I want to talk about some amazing alternatives to retinol that I have found and uncovered in my own research. And in researching my brand new skincare line, which has been in the works for well over a year.

I’m so excited to be sharing it with you. By the time you watch this, we are  just now launching our new line! We have some amazing products for you that I’ve been using myself in the testing process for about a year now. I’m super, super excited about it.

Feel Good Moisturizer

Vigna Aconitifolia

One of the ingredients I want to highlight is Vigna Aconitifolia. This is a plant that has been shown to be an amazing alternative to Retinol because it does a lot of the same things. Namely, it helps to increase cell overturn and cell communication.

That’s why Retinol has been used extensively for anti-aging purposes. When our cells are communicating and overturning there’s more smoothness. There’s more elasticity. The skin tends to look younger, smoother, more resilient.

But we’re finding that right in nature there are these amazing botanicals such as Vigna Aconitifolia, which do that as well but don’t have that toxic buildup in our system, in our bodies, which could produce detrimental effects. So that is one of the key ingredients in my moisturizer, the Feel Good Moisturizer, which again, I’ve been using it, and I’m so excited to share with you because it’s nontoxic, and it’s highly benefit-driven, and efficacious.

Pumpkin seed stem cells

Also in our quest for really healthy, beautiful, supple skin, plant stem cells are an amazing ingredient that I have been looking, and researching for a while now. They have the ability to really protect against oxidative damage, and they have this effect. Even by the name you can hear, the stem cells, they’re really helping the rejuvenation. Pumpkin seed stem cells in particular are already loaded with antioxidants and nutrients, and have that ability to really foster rejuvenation in the skin.

This is also a key ingredient in my moisturizer. I think it’s really, really important that we are using the best of the best. It’s okay to use science. It’s okay to use these scientifically created ingredients as long as they’re nontoxic, and as long as they are honoring the botanical plant, and comes from nature. That’s my perspective of skincare is we can use very benefit-driven ingredients.


Another one that I really want to mention here is Asc2-P. Again, vitamin C is fantastic. We eat it. We have it every day in our Glowing Green Smoothie®, and our hot water with lemon. But Asc2-P is a form of vitamin C that penetrates deep into the dermis. And, it’s 10 times more potent than regular vitamin C.

It’s much, much more powerful in brightening the skin, firming the skin, protecting against sun damage, and giving us our best skin ever. So this is the key ingredient in my serum. Again, vitamin C has shown time and time again in clinical research to be one of the best ingredients for fresh, youthful, beautiful skin.

But what happens to the potency of vitamin C in a product is it declines quite quickly. This is because the nature of this vitamin needs to be in a certain form to be potent by the time it reaches your face. Asc2-P is much more stable than regular vitamin C. It’s much more potent, and it actually penetrates. So in this way we can get the vitamin C for the brightening effect, for this amazing nontoxic ingredient that’s giving us so much skin beauty, and really benefit from it to the to its fullest extent.

I hope this video inspires you with a little clip of really honoring and respecting the plant ingredients. Botanicals can really do so much for us. We don’t have to resort to toxic products that can build up in our bodies, and cause damage from a reproductive or other standpoint.

In my humble opinion, it’s the best skincare, because not only is it natural and nontoxic, but it’s actually designed to work, to brighten, to firm, to prevent wrinkles, to make your skin look amazing, and glowing, and healthy.
