So this past weekend I did a yoga meditation retreat. There’s nothing so unusual about that- except for this one was totally silent. At first it was a little strange, to be around other people and not say anything(!). But then a beautiful thing happened: I started going deep inside, and started feeling very peaceful and contemplative. I have a lot going on, and I feel like I really need it. Sometimes we don’t realize how much energy and concentration we expend in useless conversations! Sometimes silence is necessary, so you can really feel and hear your own intuition trying to guide you. And get a break from the chaos of the world and your daily life- which constantly pulls the mind and the senses this way and that. When you can be still, you can recharge yourself. You can also find answers and clarity to some difficult problems or situations in your life that have been bothering you. Yoga teaches us that all the answers to our questions are already inside us. It’s just that sometimes it is difficult to hear yourself with everything going on.
Matahma Gandhi practiced this- by observing one day a week of silence.
Two days may seem very difficult! But if you can find time, even a few hours or ONE hour, to go for a walk, not bring your phone (gasp!), or garden or make food, etc. and be silent each week, I think you will find it a very beautiful way to feel grounded and bring more peace into your life. :)
Then I came home and made a very special batch of Acai and Goji berry granola to give as presents this week. I was still very meditative…
How to get energy from the world around us is not so difficult when the answers were always within.
But also joyful! And I love making food for people! ☺
Lots of love,
Kimberly

Make a facebook fan page for The Solution. You can post the articles there and all of us can become fans. then our ppl will see us becoming fans, will be curious, and the rest is history.
I’d also start a review on makeupalley.com.
Thanks Jess!
Yes, and as Shep pointed out, we do have an Envision Beauty Fan page. Please join and tell your friends!! :) We just started it recently, and I don’t know too much about Facebook myself but I hope that it becomes a great marketing tool for us in spreading the word.
So thank you!!
And thanks for the makeupalley.com review!
You are the best.
xx
Kimberly
You should post the granola recipe! Sounds yummy.
yea you should totally post that recipe!
HI guys,
I didn’t post the recipe b/c you MUST have a dehydrator to make it and I feel like very few of my readers have one. So I try to stick to the recipes that everyone can make. What do you think??
xx
There already is an Envision Beauty Fan page on Facebook with 86 Fans. Its full of glossy ads and news, and very market-y.
As a regular reader of your blog Kim, I find you to be a very sincere person. I do not think you are too market-y at all. I enjoy the information you share and I find it very helpful in my everyday life. And its fun to read! The respect I have for you and the information you share will not be effected by a plug or two for your ‘Solution’, so don’t worry. Please keep on sharing!
Hi Shep,
Thanks so much for the kind words and support!! Its great to just check in with you guys and get feedback sometimes.
Thanks for pointing out the Envision Beauty Fan site. Maybe I should announce it on the blog sometime, so people know it is there. I write tips for it that are different than the blog sometimes, so I’m sure readers on the blog would want to know about it so too. Well hopefully! :)
Thanks again!
xx
Kimberly
Well thanks for plugging The solution into a post or two so that I could know about it! haha….I don’t think you’re being market-y either…because The Solution embodies what this blog is all about anyway….THANK GOD FOR YOU or else we wouldn’t have it :)It’s really only natural to talk about things that we believe in…so…as the Spirit guides…speak.
Oh…that Granola sounds so yummy!! I want to make and taste some hehe.
Aww thanks Charlene.
What a sweet message. Sometimes I guess I just need some reassurance and feedback from you guys so I can see if I am on the right track or not. :)
And you are right- in my heart I feel that The Solution does embody my philosophy and what the blog is all about!
If you ever come to NY I’ll make you some granola! :)
thank you!!!
Hi Kimberly! You have nothing to worry about. Believe me, your sincerity shines through your writing. It is abundantly clear where your passions lay and there is nothing wrong with showcasing your gifts! It is what you were meant to do! As far as promoting your product, I say keep doing what your doing…but also, let us (your loyal blog followers)pub for you! Word of mouth is one of the best ways to get recognized and I know that most of your readers would be more than happy to share their stories! You could post before and after pics of customers (after having used The Solution for say a month or so), and I still intend on doing that youtube product review! When you believe in something it is natural to want to share it with others! So, keep doing what your doing!
Thanks Melanie!
That is so sweet for you to comment.
Yes, word of mouth is key, and as we are a small company that doesn’t advertise, we absolutely depend on it. I put out a blog a few weeks ago asking users for their testimonials and pictures to put on our website, which I’ve been collecting, and I hope that fans of The Solution will tell their friends.
the youtube.com review sounds awesome! And all these new media forms – like Facebook, etc. I need to start Twittering more also I think!
Thank you so much for all the support and great ideas Melanie.
All my very best,
Kimberly
Hey Kimberly! Don’t worry for a minute about being market-y! If you love something, why wouldn’t you talk about it? There are so many skin care products out there it’s nice to have one explained thoroughly and have such caring R&D put into it. I can’t wait for my tax return to come so I can order some! I am a makeup artist and total skin care junkie. I can get many skin products very cheap but I really respect what you put into The Solution. Most “natural” products don’t do anything beyond moisturizing. You blended the best science and nature have to offer!
PS: Have you heard of the documentary “Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days?” I just watched it and I think you’d enjoy it too!
I was kinda bad and watched it for free online but I don’t know where else you’d find it. Here’s the link:
https://www.watch-movies-links.net/movies/simply_raw_reversing_diabetes_in_30_days/
Oh forgot to mention something!
I’ve been having my green smoothies every morning and I can’t tell you how much better I’ve been feeling. Some mornings I even forget to make my coffee since I am so awake! My rep as “The World’s Unhealthiest Vegetarian” is coming to an end! LOL
Also I have been giving the remainder of my smoothies that won’t fit in my glass to my dog, Brittany! She slurps them right up! She was abused and starved as a puppy so she has a lot of stomach and digestive problems, but since she’s been drinking her raw smoothies they have been so much better!
I took a pic so I’ll email it to you. Thanks again.
Hi Megan!
Thanks again so much for sending the pics of Brittany. That is awesome! I’m sure the minerals in the greens will help her body heal. :)
And that is awesome that YOU are having the green smoothies!! Yes, you get so much energy from them, that I have heard of many people saying that they cut back on their coffee and caffeine intake.
Thank you for recognizing that there is so much in The Solution. Yes, more “natural” products are not benefit-driven, so will not make your skin look better. We care about benefits, don’t we!
I’m going to check out that documentary, I haven’t seen it!
Thanks so much for sharing it, I want to watch it soon as I have some yoga students with diabetes.
Well thanks so much for sharing Megan, in many ways, with me.
Please keep in touch and let me know how you and Brittany are doing. :)
All my very best,
Kimberly
Hi Kim!!!
I recently discovered your blog from Dominican Enigma’s Beauty Logic Blog, & already I am a big fan of yours!!! I love eating healthy & am extremely interested in becoming a raw foodist, or at least mostly one! I have already tried your green smoothie, & although my family was not fond of it, I absolutely LOVED it, & missed not having it today! I can definitely feel the difference when I don’t have it, & it’s not a good feeling!
Anyway, I was wondering if you could tell me what is wrong w/ dairy products/why you don’t like them? I looked around your blog but couldn’t find a whole post on this, but i may have missed it.
I am curious b/c I once read somewhere that the adult body is not made to handle dairy products, & my younger sister has recently developed an extreme allergy to milk where she breaks out all over with huge cystic bumps that scar & take months to heal.
While I have not had as extreme a reaction, I defintely think that my skin breaks out more when I have dairy products & i don’t feel good, so I’m trying to avoid them.
I was just wondering if you could give me some scientific evidence/ help me understand why dairy isn’t good for us.
Sorry this was so long & thanks so much for your help!!!
PS I ordered The Solution on Mon. & can’t wait to get it!
Blessings,
Michelle
Hi Michelle!
That is awesome that we were able to connect through the Beauty Logic blog. :) Yay!
And great that you have already tried the green smoothie! You feel so good and realize that your body wants all those minerals every day, right? In large quantities that are easily digestible. The green smoothie simply and fully fuels your body.
Check out my blog, “Calcium Myths Debunked.” I talk a bit about dairy there, but maybe I could go into it more on another post. Studies have proven that in parts of the world where there is more pasteurized dairy being consumed, there is more osteoporosis. In our country, pretty much ALL commercially sold dairy products are pasteurized, so are heated at very high temperatures and have their enzymes destroyed. Put simply, it s very difficult for out bodies to break down the pasteurized dairy and have a hope for absorbing it. We absorb way less calcium from dairy than we do from dark, leafy green vegetables. These pasteurized dairy products also lack magnesium (which they try to artificially fortify back in, but it doesn’t absorb well when added in artifically), which our bodies need to absorb calcium. So we end up having to leach minerals out of our own bones to try to digest the dairy.
In all this difficult digestion, there is a lot of acidic byproducts that are formed, and is clogging and aging to the skin. No thanks!
Here is an interesting study for you:
Dr. Francis Pottenger studied 900 cats over 10 years. He gave half the cats raw milk and food and the other half pasteurized milk and cooked food. In the first generation, the cats on the cooked food developed a pattern of degenerative disease, and in the second and third generation the cats began to develop congenital bone deformities, hyperactivity, and sterility. The cats fed raw food were healthy from generation to generation.
If you are interested in reading more about The China Study (the longest nutritional study ever conducted, that shows how detrimental dairy and other animal products are), and some other studies, check out Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s Eat to Live.
I’m excited for you to get The Solution also! So you skin can brighter and brighter. :)
Well please keep in touch Michelle and let me know how you do with everything!
All my very best,
Kimberly
Thank you SOOOO much for replying Kim!!!

Michelle
Hi Michelle,
That’s wonderful! I’m happy to hear that!!
I went to visit our warehouse last month and they have really efficient systems over there.
How are you doing with the smoothies, and with The Solution?
All my very best,
Kimberly
Hi Kimberly-
I don’t think there is anything wrong with promoting your product here on your blog. You are so generous with your recipes, thoughts and ideas, that I certainly don’t mind if you mention it. It is very clear that you are not all about the profit.
In response to the post about dairy…I was wondering what your thoughts are on raw dairy products? Or raw eggs?
Hi Susan!
Thanks for your encouragement. :) How can I not talk about my baby, The Solution, right??
I think raw dairy products can be enjoyed in moderation. They are not pasteurized, so easier to digest…but still much harder to digest than raw greens, veggies, sprouted seeds, nuts, etc… It is really more for taste than nutrition, as there are far more beautifying and energizing food sources where one can much more easily absorb more calcium. That is how I feel about raw, organic eggs. The enzymes are intact and there are benefits, but I would rather get my lecithin, protein, etc. from a living plant source.
Hope all is well with you!
xx
Kimberly
All of the info is very helpful and has helped me conclude that as a dietary supplement acai berry would be pretty good but no weight loss miracle. What stands out though is the difficulty people have with their banks – you are the customer and it is your money so why are the banks being difficult when you want something canceled – banks need to be more customer focused – what a pity we cant do without them.
