Watermelon Power!

Ok! Magazine that came out this past Wednesday gave me a little shout out this week. 🙂 It  inspired me to remind you again how great  the amazing summer fruit  of watermelon is. It is extremely cooling and refreshing, and being comprised of 92% water, is very low in calories. But at the same time, watermelon is high in B vitamins, which are necessary for energy production. Since it digests so quickly, and because  melons in general don’t combine well with other foods, I recommend eating it in the morning, or on its own- on an empty stomach.

Watermelon is also a natural cleanser and diuretic. So it will help eliminate excess fluids from the body, and keep bloating and swelling down, as in the heat many of us tend to retain water. Speaking of cleansers, I occasionally like to do a water cleanse whenever my body is feeling sluggish or bogged down,

Watermelon also has great anti-aging effects, as it is high in collagen-building vitamin C, Vitamin A, and the antioxidant lycopene, which is a powerful free-radical scavenger. Remember that free radicals can cause health problems…and contribute to the visible forms of skin aging.

If you can get your hands on it, I recommend getting organic watermelon with seeds intact, the way nature made them. Seedless fruits are hybridized by man to make them sterile and often are also sprayed with chemicals. Sterile fruit has a lower vibration than naturally grown fruit. By eating more fertile foods, you will absorb that energy to be more fertile and magnetic yourself!

Have a beautiful weekend and see you back here soon!

Love,

xx Kimberly

    Hi Kimberly,
I was wondering what kinds of mineral make-up and concealer you use and would recommend? I LOVE all of the recipes/advice/suggestions you share with everyone. The green smoothie is really life changing!!!!! I truly believe in the amazing benefits of fruits, vegetables, enzymes, and their effect on your skin by nurturing from within. I would like to treat my face well on the outside as well so I am hoping you can share some make-up suggestions.
Also, please add me to your email list/blog update if you have one to keep me on the up and up about any new info. and your appearances. Would love to meet you in person if you are ever doing anything in Southern California. Congrats on all your success…you are an inspiration and I can’t thank you enough!

Hey Kimberly, I’ve been following you for about a year now. I was wondering what you thought about vitamins? I also wanted your insight on probiotics. Thank you so much for your advice and time!

    Hi Kimberly!

I’m new to your blog, but I’ve been reading your posts for the last few days and they have inspired me to return to my old, healthier eating habits. I had a bad crash course in poor eating during college. Now that I’m eating healthier again, and starting my day full of green smoothie goodness, I feel so energized and full of motivation! Since it’s the summer time, and all the watermelon is on sale, I have been looking for ways to use them before they go bad, and I’ve began making watermelon ice cubes. Do you have any suggestions for what I could do with the seeds? Are they commonly sprouted?

Thanks so much, I am so happy to have found your website! Stay well,

    Breanna

    Hi Kimberly,

thank you so much for your passion. I love all of your posts.

My boyfriend and I were at Trader Joes the other day and decided against grabbing a watermelon since we weren’t sure how to tell a good one. What is the best way to choose a watermelon?
    Thanks,

    XO
    Tina
