The answer would be a lot of greens! Which I think are beautiful! :)
One recipe I was thinking of that you need to try is my cauliflower soup recipe, simply delicious with so many variations you can make!
Sorry I’ve been slow answering all the blog questions and emails as I’ve been swamped, but my schedule will lighten up in about 2 weeks. By the way, do you like it when I post blog videos?
LOVE! Kimberly
Yes, would also love to see a fan page on Facebook. :) Kim
I know!! Thank Kim. Do you think I am the last person to get a Facebook page??? I devote all my spare time here, and do Twitter when I can, so I reason, how would I do Facebook also? I’m what they call a “laggard” or whatever the term is with people who are slow to adopt new technology. :)
But I think I have to figure out how to manage! xx
I second that- would also love to see ya on facebook! I don’t have twitter (I’m a laggard too then!), but I think there may be some app that lets you update your facebook & tweet at the same time?
Love the videos Kim! Keep’em coming!
Kimberly, such a great idea to share your fridge. Guess what? This may sound crazy but I have decided to go VEGAN as of today – for at least a month – so I will be so very much coming back to your site. Stay super cool!!!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
And yes, I enjoy the blog videos very much.
And kohlrabi tastes sort of like a cross between cabbage heart and broccoli stem. They’re fun to grate and make a slaw out of with an avocado mayonnaise.
Thanks for the kohlabi tips!! You learn something ne every day! They are amazing, mighty looking veggies, aren’t they?!
my obsession is cherries too!! ;D
hey Kimberly,
I love love love this video you posted. I have one question thought-what is the best way to store the veg you load up on from the farmers market as I find the leaves can go limp very fast when I have them in the fridge. xxx
Hi Meadbh!
Be sure they are totally dry, and only wash them right before you are about to use them. I find in my fridge that if I store them in plastic bags and keep they pretty closed, they keep okay.
I don’t usually store THIS much produce but I knew I wouldn’t be able to go shopping at all this week.
Love! Kimberly
Cute! You’re very down-to-earth, open and soo informative which I super appreciate!! :)
Do your greens keep long in those bags? I get my produce loose, and anything not in the drawers wilts quickly, even before the next day. I keep my fridge close to 42 or whatever the highest safe part of the range is.
I love kohlrabi! The greens can be used like collards, like if you wanted to make a wrap. I’ve never gotten one with so many greens before! Usually only 2-4 scrawny leaves. The bulb is peeled, and you can eat it any way. It’s great sliced raw, or you can steam or boiled. My three year old digs it any way we offer it, even without any sauce or topping. I enjoy it raw, but it is a member of the broccoli family I think and I tend to digest those better slightly cooked. I hope you love it as much as I do. Just make sure you get all that thick peel off, I always accidentally leave a fibrous chunk or two.
Hi Kat! See my other comment about storing. The bags, closed, do pretty well for a few days. I use the spinach up first before the swiss chard or kale, as spinach wilts pretty fast. I never put it in the drawers because I don’t have room! :) They are always stuffed with fruit.
Thanks for the kohlrabi tips!!! I am going to make wraps like you suggested!
I have stir fried kohlrabi and it’s really yummy (the bottom)
Thank you so much for sharing with us this little peak into your fridge! As always, you are so inspirational and you elevated my day :)
Oh great, thank you!
Hey Kimberly,
I love the video posts as well! How long does that produce typically last you, one week? I am loving organic strawberries right now :)
Yes! I usually get far less produce, and go shopping at the market to buy it fresh every 2 or 3 days. But this week I knew I was going to be crazed, so I had to stock up for the week.
I would say organic blueberries are my second favorite, and organic strawberries are my third obsession. :)
I enjoy your videos! :) I had a kohlrabi last year in my CSA box, I make a raw shredded type of salad with it. I actually found it online. I think I added shredded beets and carrots too! Can’t wait to see what you make!
Hi Kimberly,
I’m Polish, and kohlrabi root is very popular as a snack. Just slice it up & put little celtic salt on it. It’s delicious.
Hi Kimberly,
Your videos are always great to watch! Keep it up! I sent you an email about two months ago with some green smoothie recipes that I wanted to share with you and the whole community. Could you let me know if you’ve received it? I’ve sent it from the above email address. I understand that due to professional commitments you may not have time to. Just wondering if I sent it to the right email address :)
Thanks again for your posts and nice videos!
Kat
Hi Kim, Yes I love the videos, more personal and very interesting…bring on more…if you can.
Anne :)
Wow that is a lot of food, lol. How long do sprouts last in the fridge?
OMG I just got Kohlrabi in my co-op box. We put the leaves in the Vita-Mix AND cut the bulb in quarters and threw them in the freezer and the following week added it into our Green Smoothie lots of fun!!!! Yum!!Thanx for the video! ~T
i love the videos! we’ve been eating lots of fresh courgettes (zucchini) and strawberries from our garden…yum!
You briefly mentioned Raw Irish Moss. How do you incorporate this interesting ingredient into your day? I’m intrigued by your bubbly excitement!
The videos are great!!! This one came just in time as I am away visiting family and have no blender available for my morning green smoothies. It gave me the inspiration to pick up a bunch of fresh veggies for myself (and hopefully family will want some too) from the supermarket and stick with my eating habits away from home – as much as possible. So hard to do when you’re the only one eating so much raw food!
You’re an inspiration and I’ve enjoyed reading your blog very much.
I love when you post blog videos! Also…I love to see what people have in there fridge! So you made my day! :) Thank you for all of your beautiful inspiration! Lot’s of love to YOU! xo
I find that if you use green bags, to store your greens ( i use Debbie meyer.. from some stores, and hsn.)you can keep your greens fresh for at least 3x’s the amount of time before they go bad. (also good for all produce)
