Today’s Beauty Detox Transformation comes from Cindy, who shares her story all the way from France. Cindy suffered with acne all through her teenage years and even resorted to a strong prescription treatment, only to have the pesky buggers come back.

How long have you been following the Beauty Detox philosophy? Was it easy to incorporate it into your lifestyle?
I have been following the Beauty Detox philosophy for 10 months. It was a bit difficult at the beginning to change habits but in Kimberly’s book we can find a lot of nice recipes and ideas that are really easy to follow and really simple to make. The book is easy to understand and gives you solutions to transition. The most important in the beginning of the diet is to replace the food we are used to eating that are much better for health and digestion, especially for anyone with inflammation in the body. The book gives you a list of nice food to try and add in our usual meals. Also, the Beauty Detox philosophy is not about restriction but eating in a right way, that why is easy to follow.
What is your daily regimen? Give us an example of a typical meal plan and exercise routines.
After waking up, I always drink a glass of hot water with lemon juice, this gives me vitamins and makes the toxins get out of my body. After drinking this glass of hot water and lemon juice, I usually take a glass of the Glowing Green Smoothie that I have frozen before in order to gain time. If I am still hungry after that, I bring some fruits at work to eat during morning. At lunch I always eat a salad before my meal, this gives my body a lot of nutrients and enzymes that help digest my meal. I mix cabbage or lettuce with raw vegetables like cucumbers, carrots, beetroots, tomatoes, …After this salad I have some millet or quinoa mix with cooked vegetables. At dinner, I also take a salad for the starter and then some lentils, chickpeas, or beans with cooked vegetables and a little bit of fish or meat. I always take some enzymes before starting my meal in order to have a good digestion. If I feel like after my work, I go for a jog. It helps me to have a better breathing.
How do you feel after adopting the Beauty Detox lifestyle? What changes have you experienced?
I had suffered from strong acne since my teenage years, I had tried every product on my skin and also antibiotics and even Roaccutane; this last one worked very well for exactly 2 years and then my acne came back even stronger. I didn’t want to take Roaccutane again as I knew it was a very strong treatment with a lot of risks we do not know exactly yet. I looked for information on the internet that could help me find how to eat well to have smoother skin, and that is how I have found Kimberly’s blog. I immediately bought the Beauty Detox Solution and thanks to this book, I learned what was the cause of my acne. After adopting the Beauty Detox lifestyle, I have seen my acne disappear and my skin becoming smoother and my hair shinier. My digestion has improved a lot, I used to be constipated a lot for many years and often bloated. Now, I am not constipated anymore and I have a bowel movement nearly every day. My colon is not overloaded of waste anymore. Thanks to my better digestion, I have more energy and I can do more things during the day. I feel happier and much more confident of myself. I smile a lot more and enjoy life more than ever.
How has this impacted your outlook on life?
The Beauty Detox philosophy made me understand that we must be careful of all information that we learn from media or others Information sources. Big Industrial Food companies have a strong power on media and can give a lot of wrong information. Now I always try to find truth by myself when I hear something, and try to make my own opinion. I also learned that to be more happy and healthy in life we always must doing thinks in respect of Nature.
What words of encouragement do you have for others in the Beauty Detox Community?
Do not hesitate to begin the Beauty Detox Solution. I had suffered from strong acne for many years. I have tried every product on my skin. I had even tried antibiotics and Roaccutane but nothing worked long term. I was feeling so upset, sad, and unconfident in myself. is there any way to not have your subscribe window pop up every time? I come to your website because i am already a subscriber to your emails, and when i visit it on my iphone it is often annoying to have to click out of the subscriber window. and it pops up EVERY single time.
This is really encouraging!!! I’ve been a vegan for nearly 4 years, and not a junk food vegan… although I do love some vegan junk food every now and again. My overall health has been amazing, but over the past 2 years I’ve had a serious issue with candida, it’s been awful. I’ve seen doctors, but their solution is to medicate and then issues come right back. So I am finally taking the plunge to do The Beauty Detox in all it’s glory! I’ve also decided to get off birth control and to stop the use of prescription skin care… needless to say, my skin is FREAKING out!!! So this was a well timed post for me!!! I just need to stick it out and not get discouraged! I don’t want to go back to all of those toxic shenanigans!

Lauren how old are you? I am 47 and interested in coming off the pill too but scared to because the last time i did(at 37) my face erupted. Do you think if I start the diet for a month then wean off the pill that would be better?
Roseacea is what I am dealing with which, is NOT acne and is horrid! I don’t like the oral and topical meds the dermatologists prescribe! This is such an embarrassing and painful condition. Please see if you can help me through nutrition, vitamins, or organic topical preparations. I have tried everything to no avail. Have you ever dealt with this problem with male or female stars you consult with?

I have been doing this diet for 3 weeks and I have noticed a huge difference. I am not breaking out like crazy anymore and I am a lot more positive than before.

Has anyone had success in the treatment of rosacea?
this is encouraging! I Ive cut out gluten and dairy….drinking lemon water seems to make my acne much worse but maybe its just a prolongued detox and ill try again. I do acv everyday with water and take probiotics. The digestive enzymes didnt seem to do much and the acv seemed to work better. Maybe im not using them right (its powdered kind). I love the book btw!
Coming up on 10 years with acne and Im 24. Kimberly I know you said to eat fruit by itself but Ive read a lot of studies about insulin levels and acne… When blood sugar spikes>increased oil production>food for bacteria. Oil+bacteria = acne. So Im wondering your opinion on blood sugar and acne….. I wholeheartedly agree with your other tips though and I should really try to follow them more closely. Im just debating whether or not to have some almonds with my apple or watermelon or keep a more low GI diet… PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN. A fan, J : )
Jo, you don’t need to worry about your blood sugar spiking from whole fruit because the natural sugar absorption will be slowed down by the presence of the fiber! I have never experienced a crash from eating whole fruit, but I have from refined carbs & sugars. Since fruit digests so quickly, eating something else with it may slow down or backup your digestion.

Nice article…I also read the book after I started to notice how my acne was getting better when I stopped meat and diary…It helped me a lot to understand how our body works and I followed the beauty detox diet since then. I know how it feels to have acne and I am really happy for you! I know how it feels to look yourself in the mirror and have a clear skin! Yay!
I really would like to have a healthier diet, although my skin is not really bad its not great either and when i have done detoxes in the past I always look and feel so much healthier

wow i have been finding that veganism has done the opposite for me :( but i will stay strong :)
me too! in the first two months my skin cleared up it was amazing but then it became a mess and it still has not gone away. but i had been going on and off the vegan diet (i love cheese), so its my own fault as they say not to go back and forth (the toxins stay in like that). SO now gonna go back full vegan, because my skin has really never been worse :((

Oftentimes a zinc deficiency can result in acne. Animal products tend to have high levels of zinc relative to plant-based foods. Try supplementing with zinc to see if your skin improves (worked for me).
