My easy to blend recipe for you today is my Maca Malt Shake! It’s sooo good. It also tastes like an indulgent, beauty-busting dairy-filled milk shake… but thankfully it isn’t. Maca has an “earthy” taste that balances well with the other ingredients (you wouldn’t want to really eat it plain- at least I wouldn’t!). Maca is great for helping your body deal with stress, balance hormones, feel sexy and boost energy! Yes…kinda an amazing little herb. :)
Using maca daily counteracts negative effects from tension and anxiety and is believed to be a great way for our bodies to adapt to daily stresses.
Maca is a plant from the broccoli family. The different colors of maca have different effects on the body, and different tastes. The order of sweetness is red, yellow then black. It tends to have a very strong earthy taste, reminding me of a cross between raw cacao and carob. *Depending on your taste and what’s convenient for you to source, you can use any type of maca powder in this recipe.
You will also be taking in a great source of fiber from the medjool dates (which helps cleanse the body, regulate blood sugar/cholesterol levels, AND eliminate constipation), and receive minerals, antioxidants, Vitamin E and protein from the almond butter, without the dangers of aflatoxin MOLD found in peanut butter!
*Note: We want to avoid peanuts and peanut butter in general!!! Peanuts are also said to be one of the most toxic foods in the American diet. They have naturally occurring poisonous molds called aflatoxins present that grow on them (which may explain why so many people have intense allergic reactions to peanuts). These molds can infect our blood and our livers. Almond butter is an easy switch.
This quick blend is amazingly Beautifying, energy- and stamina-enhancing and will put more sexy into your day! ;)
Why choose other energy drinks when you can whip this baby up in just a few minutes?!
