Detoxifying Pineapple
I think pineapples are one of the best fruits ever, as far as I’m concerned. A ripe pineapple is like candy, a gift from the tropics Gods. This fruit not only hydrates but is packed with bromelain—a special compound that helps to promote optimal digestion—which is key for truly supporting you in expressing your natural beauty[1]!
Pineapple helps the body naturally detoxify itself and lose weight. The bromelain enzyme it contains is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce the onset of aging, pain and even disease.
Pineapple is an excellent source the trace mineral manganese (an essential cofactor in a number of enzymes important in energy production and antioxidant defenses). Pineapple is also a good source of thiamin—a B vitamin that acts as a co-factor in enzymatic reactions— and central to energy production.
So super yummy and all this? It’s a food jackpot!
Super-Hydrating Coconut Water
If you want to feel like you are putting nature right into your body then coconut water is just the thing. I love to use a variety of bases for my smoothies and coconut water is one of my faves. It’s thin, light, and has a sweet earthy taste that you’ll grow to love (if you haven’t already).
Some key nutrients found in coconut are potassium, magnesium and calcium. What’s pretty cool is the potassium is an electrolyte which helps facilitate cellular cleansing and is about twice as concentrated in coconut water, as in a banana (one of my other beloveds).
These electrolytes help regulate the fluid levels inside cells and balance the high amount of puffiness, that may come from too much sodium intake.
There are trace minerals that come from up from the roots of the coconut trees, and therefore, from the native islands and other places where they are grown—making coconut water super-rich in minerals.
If you want to stay beautiful, hydrated, and energized, then coconut water is the way to go—keeping you full of beauty goodness.
Natural Internal Cleanser: Acai
How is it that acai can enhance your beauty? As you know, Beauty Detox Solution is all about having beauty from the inside out. This means we need to make sure we continually eat foods that help promote beauty from our guts to our skin, and really, to our overall wellness.
If we need to start with our guts, it’s always a good thing to hear when a fruit like acai berries, has such powerful detoxification capacities in the human body. These berries are also super high in antioxidants, fiber-filled (aka: natural internal cleanser), full of minerals, and naturally sugar-free.
When we keep our colons free of harmful substances, we are helping to alleviate constipation and other digestive problems. Acai berries will naturally help in this department due to their capabilities in speeding up bowel transit time.
The end result (no pun intended), is that it will help in preventing foods from fermenting in the intestines. Adding these berries is just another way we can avoid bloating, constipation, and gas.
If you haven’t already tried my other acai smoothie recipes, you may be wondering where you can purchase these amazing fruit. Good news is, acai can be purchased frozen in health stores!
I’ve been using this type of Unsweetened Acai Smoothie Packets from Sambazon or years- which is a great brand using organic and fair trade practices to benefit the local farmers.
