In today’s topic How To Cut Through The Confusion Of Healthy Eating!, I want to give you some tips on what steps to make that will make the greatest difference in your wellness.

Hey, Beauties. Today I want to talk about how to balance beauty detox and healthy eating and cutting through confusion into focusing on what really will make a difference in your life. I’ve listened to you guys and I know sometimes many of you write in and say, “I love the principles of Beauty Detox, but it seems confusing, so I don’t know what to do, so I end up doing nothing at least part of the time,” so I want to help cut through some of that confusion and give you some tools and tips on what to really focus on.
The first thing I want to say is that small steps make an enormous difference. Sometimes we get into the mentality that we have to follow something completely for it to really work and that’s really, really not true in beauty detox and my whole philosophy of how we can get healthier and have more energy and really express our full potential of wellness and beauty. Small steps, practiced regularly and long-term are how we make an enormous difference.
Along those lines, if you find yourself drifting on and off or following different diets, the first thing I would say across the board for all of us is to go back to basics and that means focusing first and foremost on our morning routine. If you start the day off well, you will tend to make better decisions the rest of your day. You’re setting up your digestion. You’re setting yourself up for success and if you only do the morning routine, you will still make enormous progress.
The morning routine, again, is hot water with lemon just to help enhance digestion, get things going in the morning, hydrate, give yourself vitamin C, give yourself these enzymes from lemon to support your liver tissue, which is your main detoxifying and fat burning organ.
Take your SBO probiotics. Really passionate about these because they’re how we got all our … all our ancestors got probiotics, from eating a little bit of soil from natural food from the garden, from the earth. The used to eat a little bit of soil and had the perfect mix of bacteria and this is amazing.
Again, all these small steps really add up. This one adds up in a really huge way because when we balance our gut, it helps to balance our digestion, our nutrient assimilation, our moods, how we think, our clarity, our focus, our skin health, our hair heath, so many things start in our gut.
Hot water with lemon, SBO probiotics, Glowing Green Smoothie. I’m such a huge proponent of this. Again, back to nature. It’s a whole food. The fiber and the juice are intact. You guys can check out all the recipes, all the information on all of this on mysolluna.com, but I do encourage mixing and matching your greens and your fruit just to get a wide variety of nutrients.
Those are the three basic, physical things to do in the morning. I also recommend just having, it could be one minute, it could be three minutes or longer, just sitting, getting grounded for the day, breathing. I have free meditations also on the website on mysolluna.com. I find it really beneficial to have that time to myself. That meditation, spiritual practice, whatever you want to call it, just to settle in for the day. This is the basic morning routine.
If you do that, if you put your effort into going out, getting the produce for the GGS, plus extra lemons, getting your SBO probiotics, you will make an enormous difference in your life, even if you don’t follow it the rest of the day or part of the time the rest of the day, you’re doing so, so much good for yourself and for your body.
I will say, as general guidelines for the rest of the day. First of all, I would encourage you, no matter what you’re eating, where you’re eating, whether it’s a restaurant or at home or your friend’s house, try to fill your plate, whenever you’re eating a meal with more veggies. Just a general, very basic tip to focus on. It seems simple and basic, but if you follow that, it means that you may find yourself ordering salad more as an appetizer at a restaurant versus chicken satay or shrimp scampi. We’re trying to eat more veggies in a meal, overall, it doesn’t mean you have to be perfect, it doesn’t mean if you want to eat some meat or some other foods that they can’t be a component, but largely vegetables.
Thirdly, we do work to cut down, overtime and again, that could mean some days are more for you than others. Some periods in your life are more for you than others, but just as a general thought in your mind, cutting back on processed foods and meat and diary. I’m not going to go into it all here, there’s so much information in my books and on the website about why.
These foods lack fiber, they lack a lot of micronutrients, they are acid forming in our body, there’s so many amazing alternatives to help elevate our energy and our health and our wellness, that we want to keep working towards in a long, long period of time just increasing the quality of the fuel that we put into our body and the choices that we make, but it’s a long-term game and again, it doesn’t mean that we need to feel confused, especially if we get into that mindset of numbers.
I don’t talk about numbers very much here in beauty detox from calories, you need this much protein every day or this many carbs is going to make you fat because again as T. Colin Campbell says, “when we focus on whole foods, our body really does the math for us, so we need not take that very reductionist approach.” Again, just focus on the morning routine, you guys. It’s an amazing starting place. You will start to feel amazing. You will get great results just from doing that. Try to eat more veggies overall. Very simple, very basic, but very, very powerful. Just try and incorporate them as a larger part of your dinners. Try and have more lunches based around salads and veggie soups, just add in more veggies when you can.
So Beauties, take small steps, remember health and wellness is a long term goal, and keep going!
