Hi Beauties,
Today I want to talk about seven ways to get into the holiday spirit without breaking the bank. Now, we know this time of year can be very chaotic, very busy, a lot of things going on. Shopping, lines, traffic, but these ways we’re going to talk about right now are very, very simple.
Ways that you can incorporate into your life right now that will help you feel really peaceful, very spirited, very happy, very joyful, and again, don’t involve a ton of money.
#1. Colorful Season Foods
The first is to bring in colorful seasonal foods. This is the season where you go to the market and you will start to see cranberries, and pomegranates that are red, bright, happy, and bring in those holiday vibrations just through the color.
You can add the pomegranate in your fruit bowl. You can put it in different salads. You can just enjoy it. Sometimes asparagus, pears, clementines, and apples. Having a lot of colorful fruit to have around, to use in your GGS, and just to decorate your kitchen.
It’s really nice to add cranberries as well to veggie dishes such as bate. Brussels sprouts is something I like to do a lot. It’s just nice to mix up some colors in your food, and that makes you feel happy, and it also just makes everything feel a little bit more festive.
#2. Holiday Tunes
The second idea is to bring in some holiday tunes. Some holiday tunes can feel a little bit stagnant or annoying, so find ones that feel really good to you. They can have words. They can not have words. They can be modern versions. They can be classics.
I started playing songs just being in the evening around Bubby, and the family. The tree lights are on and it just starts to feel really nice and really spirited. Again, I’m just playing it through my iPhone, and Spotify, and this little speaker we have, so it’s super easy. But the vibration of music can be very, very powerful.
#3. Get Rid of Clutter
My third tip is to get rid of clutter, and to donate items to a donation center, whether that’s Goodwill or Salvation Army. It’s just a nice way to clean up the clutter, to help to refresh the energy now going into the new year.
I always say December is a great time to really start that base of good energy. We don’t want to just go into January not having done the preparatory work. So now going through your closet, old clothes, toys, kids items, anything that someone else could benefit from. It’s a great way to start making space. That also makes you feel lighter, which is really great for the holiday season.
#4. Candles & Journaling
Fourth tip is to light some candles and to read, or journal more. This is a really cozy time of year. It can feel really inward when we start to slow down, and just really sit with ourselves, and take some extra time to meditate.
We start to feel really peaceful. We start to find our center in the middle of all the activities, parties, and shopping. So it’s really nice to light that candle, and to bring in that fire energy into your home. That also feels very holiday, and very, very special.
#5. Volunteering
Fifth tip is to volunteer. Make some cards at a local senior center. This comes to mind for me because I’m around a lot of kids with Bubby, going to the park, and my mom’s groups. I just see when we’re at the park, there’s some elderly people. They get so happy sometimes when they see the kids going by.
It just reminds me that there’s a lot of lonely elders in our culture, in our society, that are not around a lot of people some of the time. So if there’s a center, it’s just really nice to spend some time, maybe play chess, or drop off some cards, or some healthy treats, depending on what the situation is.
It’s a really nice time to give some love to our elders, which are a really, really important part of our society, and give a lot of wisdom.
#6. Gifting Healthy Treats
Along those lines, you can give treats or truffles. Try a truffle recipe and give that out to neighbors. That’s a really great, easy way to spread the love.
#7. Diffusing Holiday Scents
Last, is to breathe in some nice holiday scents. There are some different ones from cinnamon to cloves. We have some amazing podcasts with Charlynn Avery, our aroma therapy expert. She recommends, for instance, putting some essential oils right into a big cooking pot, and turning it up on high, and then turning it down to a simmer.
That’s like a natural diffuser to get the holiday scent going through your home with different cedar scents. She has some really great suggestions that you can check out in the podcasts.
That’s a really powerful way to just increase the holiday smell in your home as well. To just bring in that amazing healing aroma, which we know affects our limbic brain and helps to calm us down, feel happy, and joyful.
I hope these seven tips are interesting to you. Maybe you pick one, or a few, and just bring them into your life so you have an amazing holiday season.
Sending you so much love. I will see you back here very soon. Until then, take care. Again, right from my heart, lots of love!
