This week’s topic is: How to Boost Personal Growth and Build Confidence
I don’t know who amongst us hasn’t felt some self-doubt and question our ability to belong or our ability to achieve what we want. And what we really want to talk about on the show today is distinguishing between false confidence and true confidence. We can really work on building that true confidence, which is sustainable, even if things don’t happen to go our way that day.
We can really build this through our lifestyle with our Four Cornerstones of food, body, emotional wellbeing and spiritual growth. Just like any other topic, whether it’s digestion or beauty or today we’re talking about confidence, it really is the most effective way to approach it from this holistic cornerstone perspective.
I’m really excited to start talking about this because confidence is a big area that I cover in my new upcoming book and why all these topics feel very top of mind to me. It’s called, You Are More Than You Think You Are – Practical Enlightenment For Everyday Life. Confidence is something that I’ve been writing about and really delving into. And today I want to give you a little snapshot of what the philosophy behind that is.
Have you been wondering about this very topic? If you want to know the answer to this question and 3 more sent in by Beauties just like you, listen now to find out!

My college friends seem to be so into how they look rather than the deeper things in life. Maybe I’m an old soul or maybe it’s fear to really look in the mirror to see my own reflection. I’d rather read a good book. How can I have a healthy balance so I’m not extreme one way or the other?
Hope – Texas
Hi Kimberly! I really want to grow my small business and have recently received partnership opportunities. My question is—how do you discern between which partnerships to take on and which to say no to? I ask this because I’ve had some negative experiences in the past. I want to only call in those who have good intentions and respect my brand. Thank you!
Francis – North Dakota
Last year I got certified to teach meditation and one year later I’ve still not done anything with it. It’s almost as if my spiritual practice got a bit drowned by the methodologies of the course even though they incorporated this into the curriculum. How can I ensure I continue to grow in a spiritual sense when starting a career makes you connect to the material world?

Kimberly: 00:01 Hi Beauties and welcome back to our Thursday, Q&A podcast or our topic this week is How to Boost Personal Growth and Build Confidence. So this is a big one, I think for all of us, I don’t know who amongst us, hasn’t felt some self doubt and question our ability to belong or our ability to achieve what we want. And what we really want to talk about on the show today is distinguishing between false confidence and true confidence. And we can really work on building that true confidence, which is sustainable and doesn’t get easily dinged from the outside world, or if things don’t happen to go our way that day. And we can really build this through our lifestyle when our cornerstones food, body, emotional wellbeing and spiritual growth, because just like any other topic, whether it’s digestion or beauty or today we’re talking about confidence, it really, really is the most effective way to approach it from this holistic cornerstone perspective.
Kimberly: 01:02 And I’m really excited to start talking about this because confidence is a big area that I cover in the new book. That’s upcoming. We’re going to start pre-sales in just a few weeks. So all these topics feel very top of mind to me, the new book is called you are more than you think you are practical enlightenment for everyday life. And so again, confidence is something that I’ve been writing about and really delving into. And today I want to give you a little bit, a little snapshot of what, of, what the philosophy behind that is.

Question #1 around the topic of: How to Boost Personal Growth and Build Confidence: I’m just now starting to feel like I can take on more when it comes to adjusting my eating lifestyle. The big BUT is that I’m not feeling 100 percent confident. How did you ease into eating this lifestyle of yours Kimberly? Thank you so much!
Kimberly: 03:07 All right. My loves all that being said. Let’s get into our topic today, how to boost personal growth and build confidence. Our first question comes from Madeline and she’s from New York and she writes, I’m just now starting to feel like I can take on more when it comes to adjusting my eating lifestyle, the big, but is that I’m not feeling a hundred percent confident. How do you ease into eating this lifestyle of yours? Kimberly, thank you so much. So Madeline, thank you so much for your question. And I like that. We’re starting on a very practical note. Food is physical, tangible. We pick it up. It’s part of our daily lives. So it’s a really great place to start our discussion. And I know from working with many, many clients in many different people over the years, that really moving towards a, a sustainable shift, a sustainable dietary shift takes some energy and effort and patience because we’re programmed to perhaps eating a very different way.
Kimberly: 04:18 And so it feels safe to eat that way. It feels familiar. And as we’re crossing over, we may get questions in our mind, like, is this the best thing for my body? Or am I getting enough protein? Or is this, you know, am I going to be able to sustain this? And so what I would recommend Madeline is really starting to go ease into this lifestyle. And I’ve said this before. My first practical note is to start from the morning up the morning is a great it’s, you know, it’s the great new years every morning. Like I like to say, we’ve come from this altered state of consciousness known as sleep. So when we get up in the morning, there’s an opportunity to really put our energy in a, in a beautiful new flow, no matter how we ate last week or the day before.
Kimberly: 05:14 So we ease in just like the sun starts to rise up. We put good practices in place. We start with putting real nourishment in our bodies. We have more, um, let’s say control over the mornings because of the day goes on. Sometimes a work call may go over or you get busy with your kids or whatever it is. But in the morning, we can really be intentional with what we’re putting into our bodies and we can feel very good about that. And one of the most important components of the morning is fiber fiber is stabilizing. So as we’re going through great shifts, we want more of that coffee, energy that very grounded, earthy energy in our bodies. So the glowing green smoothie is made of raw vegetables and fruits, which has that element of Vata. It has that wind airspace element, but it’s not a juice.
Kimberly: 06:09 It’s got that grounding fiber again. So when we’re going through shifts and changes, I think that we want to make sure we’re having, from a dietary perspective, we want to make sure we’re getting enough fiber. And we want to make sure that we’re getting enough healthy fats in because that’s going to be the, the stabilizing quality, which makes us feel more full. First of all, physically full in our bodies. And it allows us to feel that confidence, more of that confidence as we’re moving food shifts and changes. If we don’t, you know, there’s already a big change, let’s say from going from a, a heavier diet to a more plant-based diet or a plant-based diet. So that grounded-ness is going to feel like a friend as we’re navigating through. The second thing I’ll say is this really magical number of 40 days, different experts may talk about habits.
Kimberly: 07:06 Um, different numbers of habits, actually, BJ Fogg. Who’s a professor at Stanford disputed some of these numbers and our, uh, podcast interview. If you want to go check out that one, that’s a really great one to, to go back and reflect on, but 40 days in most, not most, but a lot of cultures around the world signals a cycle of shift. So in Kundalini yoga, for instance, 40 days is what is needed to break a habit and establish a new habit through daily practice. And have, of course we know, you know, uh, biblical stories about 40 days, and we hear this number 40, 40, 40, over and over again, as I say, you know, and I study world cultures and different ideologies, this number keeps coming up. So what I would, um, recommend Madeline is looking at the first 40 days that you are making a shift into this new way of eating as a really sacred time and a time where you are transitioning.
Kimberly: 08:14 And so that means it doesn’t have to happen in three days or one week or two weeks. It’s really this gradual 40 days where your body, your mind, your spirit are reacclimating to this new way of eating a whole different lifestyle approach. So like I said, you can work in your own way during these 40 days. Some people I’ve worked with, like, to be very strict for a few days, and then they sort of ease up some of us like to ease in more and work with the morning, and then it builds up into the lunchtime and then the, the dinner. And you can sort of ease in that way, but I encourage you to really think about these these 40 days as something that’s just unfolding naturally in your life. So it doesn’t have to be, you know, something that, that feel, you know, this pressure of getting it shifted over right away, that will allow your body time to adjust and your mind to adjust.
Kimberly: 09:16 So that’s the second tip. The third tip I have is if you have any questions, like, am I getting enough protein, like very practical questions, go over to mysolluna.com, check out our thousands of articles. And I can almost guarantee that I’ve addressed one of your nutrition questions and one of those articles, it’s good to have that knowledge to give you confidence. Your mind can be our, all of our minds, as we know, it can be a big block. So we want to let the mind calm down so that the intuition of the body can start to come forward more and more. But in the beginning, giving some of that real, you know, the factual knowledge information to your brain, your mind can help. It starts to relax and calm down so that you realize, oh, okay, this is just me getting used to this new way of eating, or, you know, this is, this is a shift, but I know that I’m safe doing this.
Kimberly: 10:11 I know I’m getting enough nutrition. I am approaching it in a whole food based way in a, in a well-thought-out way. I’m not just eating, you know, a bunch of rice cakes all day long. And so the combination of easing in from the morning up really looking at this as a, you know, a 40 day cycle to really, I mean, the easing in, uh, being, you know, more extended 40 day cycle. And number three, as I mentioned, you know, really seeking out the facts and the information for your brain to feel calmed down are gonna help you in this transition. My love. So I’m here for you. There’s a lot of resources for this over at mysolluna.com. And we’ll keep in touch with us and sending you a big virtual hug. My love, thank you so much for being part of our community.
Question #2 around the topic of:How to Boost Personal Growth and Build Confidence: My college friends seem to be so into how they look rather than the deeper things in life. Maybe I’m an old soul or maybe it’s fear to really look in the mirror to see my own reflection. I’d rather read a good book. How can I have a healthy balance so I’m not extreme one way or the other?
Kimberly: All right, let’s go to our second question, which comes from Grace and she lives in California and she writes my college friends seem to be so into how they look rather than the deeper things in life.
Kimberly: 11:13 Maybe I’m an old soul, or maybe it’s fear to really look in the mirror to see my own reflection. I’d rather read a good book. Can I have a healthy balance? So I’m not extreme one way or the other grace. I love this question. My love, and I completely relate. There have been periods in my life, several periods where I started to feel alienated from the group of friends that I was in. And one of them was my college friends. When I got back from backpacking, they were really into partying, still a lot of them and going to bars. And I was in a very different place. At that point. I was getting really into yoga and meditation, and I was starting to be drawn more towards the yoga studio, where I was spending a lot of time. And I was doing a teacher training there.
Kimberly: 12:12 And I started to be drawn more to the people that I was meeting at the yoga studio. And at first I felt conflicted because I thought, oh, you know, I’m a very loyal person. And I didn’t want to feel like I was ditching anybody or, you know, sensitive to feeling like I don’t want to feel like I’m quite like better than them or anything, but I just felt naturally I was, you know, transitioning and going beyond some of the, you know, activities, shall we say that I had done in the past? So what I would say to grace is not to second guess yourself and not to question what you’re feeling right now, this fact that you’re into the deeper things you’re looking below the surface is really, really powerful. And it’s really, really beautiful. And I do believe that you’re an old soul. I, a hundred percent believe in this.
Kimberly: 13:06 Some of us have, um, you know, maybe been around our souls, who’ve been around a bit longer. So we have more experiences. And some of the yogis talk about this. For instance, they say that, you know, for those of us, that really don’t care at all about being famous because we’ve been famous in another lifetime. And so we’ve learned the lessons and we say, you know what? I don’t need to do that again. And so what I believe is that when we start wanting to go deeper, we, we start to attract different, um, friends that are on that level as well. And that starts to feel deeply fulfilling because it just feels like the people get us and that we are moving into this different, you know, just a little bit of a different phase. Now, it doesn’t mean you need to ditch all your old friends.
Kimberly: 14:01 It doesn’t mean that you you’re mean to them, or you cut them out of your life, but there starts to be this healthy balance, which is the phrase that you used in your question. There starts to be this balance between the time that you spend with some of your friends that may be, you know, a little bit more surface-y or like you said, really concerned with looks and maybe makeup and, and hair and the stuff that you, you spend some time with. Of course, we all care what we look like, but then you’re interested in these other things in books and knowledge. And then again, you start to find friends that are on that level. And I think that’s really important. Um, I will say that grace, I want to invite you personally into the Solluna Circle. Um, I’m recording this Wednesday. This is airing Thursday.
Kimberly: 14:47 You’re listening to this Thursday two days ago. We had our zoom call with this, the amazing women in the circle, and we could all see each other. And it is such a deep connection that we’re developing over there with each other. I’m starting to really know these amazing women in the circle and we support each other. And some of the girls mentioned that they’re messaging each other and they’re starting to create really deep friendships. And we were talking about burnout. And one of the things we were sharing is what we want to let go of in our life to open up for what, and there’s something very powerful when you state that intention in front of other women and other, you know, beautiful humans. It means w which are a mirror to us. And we just start to create really deep connections that can support us on our path and on our journey.
Kimberly: 15:38 So I think it’s really amazing that you’re, um, that you’re feeling this and th this depth is the pathway. It’s the doorway of going into really deep self-connection, which is really where confidence comes from false confidence, which I mentioned at the beginning of our podcast comes from the surface. It comes from what we look like. It comes from our job title, or how much money we have in the bank, or, you know, all this outward stuff, how many followers we have on social media? And I call it false because it’s not sustainable. Our looks are going to change. And if people unfollow us, sometimes that happens, or our job may change or whatever it is, these are all parts of, you know, normal parts of life. So if we derive our confidence from the surface, it’s never going to feel good because we’re always going to be scrambling and hustling to try to make things better, to patch things up.
Kimberly: 16:43 In contrast, if we connect in with a unique soul that is grace, and that is each of you listening to this, we start to connect and realize that we are so much more than we ever thought. And that deep connection is the pathway to real sustainable confidence. So it’s also the pathway to non-judgment, it’s the pathway to deep peace. So I encourage you, Grace, listen to yourself, go into those books, go into your meditations. And again, you can still be friends with those, those other women, and then those friends, but you start to balance spending more time with that beautiful soul of yours. And, you know, I’d love to see you in the circle. I think you would really benefit from some of our discussions and some of our connections, but I love that you’re here. I love that you’re voicing it. I think it’s a sign of tremendous growth, and I’m so happy for you. My love. So keep going, keep growing. And I’m here for you. So keep in touch with us and let us know how you are doing. And I send you so much love.
Break
Kimberly: 17:49 Speaking of which my, my Beauties, we have a short break now. And when we get back, we have two more questions for you on this topic, how to boost personal growth and build confidence. So see you in just a moment.
Question #3 around the topic of: How to Boost Personal Growth and Build Confidence: Hi Kimberly! I really want to grow my small business and have recently received partnership opportunities. My question is—how do you discern between which partnerships to take on and which to say no to? I ask this because I’ve had some negative experiences in the past. I want to only call in those who have good intentions and respect my brand. Thank you!
Kimberly: All right. My loves, we are back from our break and we have two more questions for you on this topic of true confidence, how to boost personal growth and build confidence. So let’s get right into our next question, which comes from Hope and she lives in Texas. Loved the name. Hope my, I, uh, I just love the energy of it. It’s to beautiful name, sending you so much love out there in Texas. I’m so grateful for our connection. I love our Texas beauties. Every time I go there, I feel very full with love. We always have such a amazing response in Dallas and Houston and Austin, wherever we show up.
Kimberly: 18:50 And I can’t wait to get back there, hopefully, you know, and that within the years, things start to open up and hopefully we get to meet your question. My love is hi, Kimberly. I really want to grow my small business and have recently received partnership opportunities. My question is, how do you discern between which partnerships to take on and which to say no to I ask this because I’ve had some negative experiences in the past. I want to only call in those who have good intentions and respect my brand. Thank you. This, my love is a wonderful question, and I really love the word that you use here, which is discernment and what I want you to start paying attention to as you’re moving through your day is I want you to start. And as decisions come up or partnership opportunities come up. I want you to start tuning into the wisdom of your body.
Kimberly: 19:52 The mind is tricky. The mind. I think when we, when we rely solely on thought and the mind, that’s when we start to make some bad decisions and that’s when we can start to make mistakes. And of course, of course, mistakes are part of the journey. You know, experiences are all valuable, but as we go along this journey and we start to really grow as humans, and we start to really grow in our personal individual journeys, we realize that more and more, we want to start relying more on our intuition. And that’s really where real discernment comes in. So someone can say all the right stuff, but let’s say you’re hearing someone talk and in your body, you’re getting messages like, Ooh, like a tightening in your heart or in your belly, or just feeling your body. Like you’re getting a message. Something is off here.
Kimberly: 20:53 I encourage you to listen to that because the body and the heart and intuition doesn’t come from the mind, it doesn’t come from thoughts. There is a deeper wisdom that we all have access to salts are limited. Thoughts are constructs that come from the limited mind, but we had this infinite potential energy inside of us. And when we start relying on that and leaning into that more, we start to have that discernment that we’re all seeking. Um, I’ll give you an example. And I shared a little bit about this, and I go into much more detail in this new book about relationships and soulmate and true love and connection. But when I first met my husband, you know, I was in a, I was in a deeper, more contemplative place. Had I met him six months before that I don’t think we would have gotten together because on the surface, the thoughts would have been like, oh, he’s really different than you.
Kimberly: 21:59 And he’s a big, you know, into like boxing. And he’s got, he just seems a little like, you know, dangerous, like unsafe. He’s got all these tattoos. He’s he had a grill in his teeth, but I won’t be on my thought while I was talking to him at this dinner party. And I felt this opening in my body and my heart. And I was at a place in my life where I was able to tune into that more. And you know, on your question, I’ve had, listen, I’ve had some really bad relationships, um, and breakups, not, you know, fully bad of course, but it didn’t always end so well. And as I reflect back, I was using just thoughts and you ration and logic. And if we go, of course, listen, guys, if we go into the news or we go into, you know, the very Western linear world, we talk to people that are in that mindset.
Kimberly: 22:57 They’ll say, of course you have to like go by just the facts, but I don’t believe that’s true. I think we consider the facts the hard line, like what we see, but there’s the gut. There’s the instinct. There’s the heart, which I believe is infinitely more powerful. So when we combine the, both, we say, you know, in your case help, let’s say it’s a partnership idea. You look at the partnership on paper and you’re like, okay, you know this, or like, I could use more of this factual, but then you can sit back. You can do. Um, what I would do is I always meditate before I do a decision. And this is something that make a decision. This is something that Paramatta Yogananda, the great yoga guru always says, do not make a big decision unless you are in a really calm place. And you first, so you meditate.
Kimberly: 23:47 You clear your mind, try out some of our practical enlightenment meditations, which are in the app. Also, we have meditations every month in the Solluna Circle. So you meditate, you clear your mind, you get rid of the thoughts. And then after you meditate in that really potent space, you can introduce the question is this partnership with XYZ, right? For me. And then you don’t try to think it through you just sit back because you’re in a clear space and see what arises in your body, see what messages come forth from your heart, from your intuition. Sometimes it’s just a knowing for me, it’s usually just this feeling of knowing it’s not really like a, sometimes it’s auditory, but for me, it’s really just like a knowing. And sometimes you need to do that a couple times because the mind may feel cloudy or you still feel conflicted.
Kimberly: 24:36 And sometimes it’s best to do this with your morning meditations before you get into the day. And there’s more emails and ideas and people you’ve talked to that can feel it can make you, um, again, not feel as clear. So you do this first thing in the morning, and then you just, you know, meditate as the question, see what comes forward. And more and more as we go along, we start to trust that intuition more and more. We start to trust that we have this wisdom inside of us. And that also really builds true confidence because it means we are relying on ourselves and we’re not just relying on the outside world. We are going into the true self we’re going into that deep self-connection in that self-reliance. And over time, that really builds connection in the most beautiful way. It builds confidence in the most beautiful way. So try that. My love. I’m very excited for you to give this a go and please connect back with me, let me know how you do. And I’m very excited for you sending you all the best with your business and all your partnerships and sending you so much love.
Question #4 around the topic of:How to Boost Personal Growth and Build Confidence:
Last year I got certified to teach meditation and one year later I’ve still not done anything with it. It’s almost as if my spiritual practice got a bit drowned by the methodologies of the course even though they incorporated this into the curriculum. How can I ensure I continue to grow in a spiritual sense when starting a career makes you connect to the material world?
Kimberly: 25:39 All right, let’s get into our final question. Now, my love, and this one comes from Francis who lives in North Dakota and she writes, and first of all, love hello out there to North Dakota. I feel like we’ve been getting a lot of questions from north and South Dakota. There’s like this beautiful energy connection vortex out there. I have not been to the states and I definitely hope to get there. One day, Francis writes last year, I got certified to teach meditation. And one year later, I’m not doing anything with it. It’s almost as if my spiritual practice got a bit drowned by the methodologies of the course, even though they incorporated this into the curriculum, how can I ensure I continue to grow in a spiritual sense when making a career makes you connect to the material world? Hmm. So Francis the answer to your question is to make sure that you’re balancing your inner world and your outer world, right?
Kimberly: 26:37 So outer world is the practical. Okay. You know, um, let’s get going here. Let’s do something with this. I’m going to teach at this center, I’m going to get this course going online. And of course we are embodied. We are humans in a actual physical body. And so we need to interact with the outside world. And we do not. Um, we can’t close our eyes and pretend that we’re not here. So there’s a practicality to that. There’s the no so-called outside world, but we need to completely balance that with the inner state, with our inner world. So as you’re going through this process, Francis, it’s essential that you do your own meditations and that you continue to focus on the deepening of your own meditation practice. And you balance that inner connection. That is the inspiration for the outside world, right? You take that energy and that love and the motivation, which I believe, you know, is there, why you, you wanted to go into teaching meditation to help others to serve others, right?
Kimberly: 27:50 But if we just started, certainly get stuck on the outside. We start to feel that leak of our power, that leak of our inspiration, because we’re not nurturing it the real way to, to nurture joy, peace, confidence has to come from inner connection. So Francis it’s essential as you’re, you know, going forward, you really spend time ideally morning and evening in your meditation and your inside of yourself. And then like we spoke about in the last question with hope, great discernment can come forth of, okay, these are the steps that I need to take. Here’s who I need to get contact with. I’m so inspired to teach here and then that inspiration and that energy will come forth. You don’t even have to try to sell yourself. It’s just pouring out of you. And so it’s essential as you start working with students and you start working with people that you’re coming from this authentic place of self-connection as well, because that’s what meditation is all about.
Kimberly: 28:51 And so we can only really give to others what we have within ourselves, right. And more, and you’ll become more confident as a teacher, if you’re really embodying it and living it yourself. Now, of course, it doesn’t mean we need to be perfect. And, you know, I hope it comes across to you guys. I’m very honest that I am not perfect. And I, you know, stumble and you know, I’m on this path of growth just right along with you guys. But I’m also honest that my meditation practice has given me everything, right? All the, all the joy and everything that I feel I’ve created, it’s positive and beneficial has come from this inner connection surface. Let’s face it. It’s unreliable, it’s choppy. It’s could be frightening and scary and stressful. We balance that. We deal with that. We rise up to that because we have so much nourishment from the insight and so much self-connection that we meet those challenges in life.
Kimberly: 29:56 We meet decisions with this real deep, grounded place of self-connection self connection to who we really are. The true self is the limitless unique essence, the soul inside of us spirit inside of us. And so, as you’re going through, I wouldn’t beat yourself up Francis, keep working on the interstate. And then as you step out, there’ll be more flow and there’ll be more, um, an ease vileness and making decisions and deciding what to do and going this way or that way. And that’s going to start to feel really, really good to you. So, you know, th the teachers need to be held as well. So I especially encourage you to check out our practical enlightenment meditations, which I put out every week. It’s really nice sometimes to be guided and also to just sit back so you can work on yourself and then allow that nourishment, as I mentioned to come forth. So you can then support others in a deeper way. So I love this. I’m so happy for you. My love to, um, to work with others, I’m here for you always. So please keep in touch with us. And I’m sending a big virtual hug.

Thought of the Week
Kimberly: I want to leave you with a quote of the week, which is working on deepening. Your connection to your true self will elevate all areas of your life. And that my love comes from the meditation. It comes from stillness journaling, just having time to get to know yourself, have time to get out of everybody.
Kimberly: 32:13 Else’s ideas, everybody else’s opinions, right? We go on the news. We’re talking to our friends all the time. We’re on social media. It’s like we’re being pulled and we don’t really get to know the true self. And we don’t get to hear her or listen to her and what she’s speaking to us. So we need to really consciously put aside that time. And I promise you that is the best time you’ll spend, because it will elevate everything. It will make you feel more calm when you’re running after your kids. I know this from personal experience, we had the most disastrous morning with all the stuff spilling with food and the boys were very rambunctious and I felt so calm. So calm today because, and I’m not telling you how to do this, but I was up at 5:00 AM meditating when I did this yesterday. And I noticed such a difference when I can get up and have an hour to meditate, or, you know, again, I’m not saying it starts off this way, but I meditated from five to six the last two days.
Kimberly: 33:08 And I’m telling you, oh my gosh, I was a calm mama this morning. I didn’t even feel a blip. And even if it’s five minutes or seven minutes, which is what most of our practical enlightment meditations are, it is so beneficial to go into that space and give yourself that stillness, be more common, your decisions you’ll be more discerning. You’ll feel your heart more and life will flow more. So I’m very excited for you to continue your journey. I am so honored to be here to support you. My love means the world to me. So keep in touch with me. As I mentioned, especially in our app, uh, check out our Solluna Circle. It is where I can support you the most. For sure.
