Today’s solocast topic is: How To Attract the Personal Power of Expansion to Transform Life
When we’re talking about expansion, we’re talking about this energy moving through all of our cornerstones, food, body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth. It means we take this more contextual, broader, expanded perspective. And some of the benefits include enhanced and sustained energy, more inner peace, less stress, inflammation, better results, more intuition, deeper feelings of fulfillment, and more flow across all areas of your life.
This idea of expansion has been something that’s been a really important concept that I’ve been focusing on in my own life over the past year, and especially since summer. I’ve had some really big downloads and ideas come through in the forests of Hawaii, and then they start to trickle out through me, through the channel, this podcast, writings and so on.
I’ve experienced so many benefits, just incredible upgrades in many ways. And I’m very excited to leave you with these very tangible tips, different perspectives and ways that you can look to expand in your life. Which in turn, expands energy, expands abundance, and expands the deepening of your relationships.

And our book Baby, our newest book Baby, which is called Your More Than You Think You Are, is out now. You can check it out wherever books are sold. It’s wonderful, particularly for our wonderful podcast community because it’s so practical and bite sized. These, you know, short, digestible chapters for going into very practical, very useful teachings, ancient teachings, practices, exercises to really make these micro shifts and macro shifts in your energy, which we will see reflected out to out at you in your life. We create always from the inside out. Energy starts in the inside, and then it manifests into form on the outside. So it’s really important that we have our practices and these tools available to us. So please check out the new book. You Are more than you think you are. Okay, all of that being said, let’s get right into our topic today, which is about how to really attract and live in this more expansive way and what that does to your life.
Solocast: How To Attract the Personal Power of Expansion to Transform Life
So let’s start by talking about expansion. So when you think about energy, um, or you think about the power of, say energy or something informed water, and you see how water forms around a boat, right? So it’s like, it’s, it’s expanding around the boat and then it, it creates a new form, or the river keeps expanding, widening changing course because the energy naturally wants to flow and expand. And you can see the power of water. It’s carving mountains, it’s moving the earth in different ways. So dynamic dynamically, we are meant to expand. The opposite of expansion is stagnation, and that’s when we get into patterns that feel comforting, but they’re also small and may not serve us anymore. So if we don’t expand, what happens is we start to decay a bit. And we can see this in our patterns in the way we approach our diet.
If we get into this pattern of just staying real safe or just eating, you know, similar ways from our childhood or where it felt safe, or we stay very linear, um, on paper, this has to match this diet. The numbers have to match up. We stay in the minutia. It may not match intuitively what our body’s needs are that day. So we can actually squash and repress some energy. So expansion is the natural design of us by the universe, by source, by God, spirit, whatever word you wanna use. So when we come into our life with this intention and with this perspective, that we wanna actually expand everything intentionally, we’re, we’re stepping into the, to the way of things. We’re stepping into consciousness, rising health, rising justing growing and not in a forced way, not with trying, but just by allowing. So we allow by, again, number one, the intention to expand.
Number two, stepping beyond the bounds of our comfort zone. Number three, being open and aware and awake to different ideas and ways of looking at things and ways of going about them. So that is the intro here into this topic. Let us now go into the cornerstones and then we can talk about specific action steps and ways to really benefit from this, which again, think expanded energy, expanded happiness, joy, bliss, peace, expanded results, everything expands because we are meant to, we are not meant to stay small and contain and control. So from a food perspective, expansion means expanded. First of all, many different ways.
Expansion from a Food Perspective
Number one, we’re expanding the actual vegetables that we eat. One of the things that Dr. Buettner, who’s come on several times, he’s a plant-based gastroenterologist. We will link to some of his podcasts in the show notes. One of the ways in which we can best take care of our bodies, according to Dr. B, is to eat a wider variety. Expanded, expanded out of the same five veggies we may be used to picking up at the store, expanded colors. We know that the carotinoids and the carrots and the different flavanoids and antioxidants lend themselves to these bright colors, the spectrum, the rainbow, so attractive to our eyes visually because we’re expanding the amount of micronutrients and resources that we actually ingest from these foods. So next time we’re at the farmer’s market or the market with curiosity, we can say, What is this? Oh, I’ve never heard of Cole
Robb. Let me get this and see how I can work with it. Maybe it’s, you know, I can use this instead of broccoli, my stir fry. Or I could try baking it like I would a cauliflower steak or you know, whatever it is, just playing. And then this expands creativity expands our connection to food, it expands our ability to be intuitive eaters and to see what we are drawn to. So this deeper form of self care strengthens as we step into this expanded context. Speaking of context, when we look at food in an expanded way, we see that different foods affect our moods. Different foods affect our energy, different foods affect our belly in different ways. So we’re moving past the linear, numeric, quantitative decision making, which will give us some information but expanded out. We can see when you see this with the Ayurvedic herbs, and there’s this crossover between herbs, medicine, food, that there is a palpable benefit, a warming quality to ginger, right?
So we’re putting the ginger in the stir fry and dinner, it’s helping us metabolize our dinner. We’re putting the ginger in our elixir. It’s creating more warmth and more support to our digestive fire. That’s not quantitative. There isn’t, Oh, you’re gonna burn an extra six calories per two minutes. You know, there’s formulaic, some of those formulas are helpful and you may wear, you know, your apple watch and get all this data and information’s great to process through. But then there’s this expanded. Yes, the ginger just feels so good to me right now. I’m coming down with something, there’s in my throat, I’m gonna add some raw honey. This is soothing, this is so good. The more we come into this openness and intuitiveness when it comes to food in our diet, we will start to see different levels of energy. We will start to get out of this box.
It’s like we had to color in the box. I have seen some friends and colleagues and clients the way that they eat. And it is, you know, they’re like inputting data into an app on their phone and they’re seeing if they eat too many calories and carbs. And it’s very complex. And that may work, it may work for a time, it may work for a reset period even. But I believe in our long term lifestyle, this more fluid expanded way of looking at food, seeing what we’re drawn to, seeing what colors come in will benefit you tremendously. So try doing it. Try um, adding in some different veggies this month, this week. Try, you know, pausing, seeing what your body’s drawn to eating a whole rainbow of foods. Try, you know, focusing on this plant forward whole food, um, perspective. And just see what happens to your mind, to your body. This, you know, hopefully this dissipation of stress around eating. We’ll start to really dissolve the more we step into this intuitive, expanded way of eating.
Expansion from a Body Perspective
So from the, from a body perspective, what we wanna do is we also want to understand that our bodies expanded in the space, the environment around us. We’re not just this collection of bones and skin, but we can expand our identity to be, you know, the allness what’s around us, the Pancho Maha B theory of Aveta talking about how the five elements in nature, airspace, earth, fire, water, are the same elements in our body. So when there’s more fire outside, there’s more heat, there’s more sun, not the best time to do hot yoga. And now in the fall, as the wind and the value element is being kicked up, there may be days it’s not the best to subject our body to that wind, to that cold.
We’re a bit vulnerable now between the seasons and our lymphatic system may be overloaded, making us more susceptible to immuno, you know, a little bit immunocompromised, a little bit, um, vulnerable the throat. So it means maybe we do a little bit more indoor yoga or cycling. We will start wearing a, a scarf to protect our throat. We don’t just, you know, drill in, say, this is my routine. I’ve always done this hit workout at this time, or I always do hot yoga. I always run no expanded means shifting. Dynamic energy takes on different forms. It looks at different way. Sometimes we may shift our routines body, our bodies are, you know, on this planet that’s moving through space and rotations and different seasons and different circadian rhythms. So expansion to me with the body means we’re so tuned in. We keep making adjustments. We also want to expand to see health as a really overall environmental internal environmental condition as well.
Meaning we re or we put or we reemphasize our gut health. So beyond what we see, you know, with the physical eyes, these billions of, um, these tiny little organisms that are keeping this show going, expanding to see that I may feel this cold or this achiness or this low energy or this bad mood, but really in an expanded perspective, I wanna make sure in the most basic sense, I’m really taking care of my gut health and microbiome. So this means again, you know, not overloading the body, not eating too late at night, being on track with your two SBO Solluna Probiotics every day, which I swear by, they are hearty. They are, there’s this responsiveness because they’re based in natural principles, based in the soil that our ancestors used to eat. So there’s this way that these probiotics really are effective. They move through the gut, they can survive stomach acid, they proliferate, They really are so effective and I’m so excited to share them with you.
So gut health basics, not eating too much sugar, the wide variety of foods will also really help with your gut health and just modifying your, your body. And then another thing I want, another tip I wanna leave you with in this expanded perspective is cleansing and resetting the body and the energy around the body with salt. And I’m talking about Epsom salt baths, other salt baths. This is something that we talked about in the Solluna Circle last month when we were talking about moving through unhealthy patterns. Salt has been, you know, there’s an ionic charge. Everything has a charge, but salt in particular can be really, really great for cleansing and resetting your body, your aura, your energy. And this is, you know, in different, um, research and science, we talk about, you know, the electron transfer. Nothing’s really solid when you shake someone’s hands.
Things are always moving and shifting. And so even with salt on the outside of your body, this cleansing way, just seeing things in this expanded context where the body just isn’t, you know, what we think of as physical, but moving and energetic and how do we take care of that with intention? You know, I like to do these salt baths and there’s a real intention around just taking a deep breath, helping me reset to center. So those are some tips and ideas you can think about play with.
Expansion from a Emotional Wellbeing Perspective
And then the next is emotional wellbeing. And this is a huge one, moving away from the scene to the unseen. But still we know the emotional toll that worry, stress, anxiety, anger, resentment, all of this plays out on our nervous system. It definitely plays out on our immune system. It plays out on our delicate endocrine system.
So down to our hormones, the ways in which our organs are working and taking care of us, <laugh>, our relationships are interactions through the day have an enormous effect. So in and of itself, we could say this four cornerstone perspective is an expanded approach because we’re starting to really see that we can’t just compartmentalize our relationships or our food over here. And then this is over there. Everything does touch everything else. Everything affects everything else. So from an emotional wellbeing perspective, we want to keep expanding out of individual smaller situations that can feel like the world is coming down and it feels like, Oh my God, this is such a big deal. We played on our head, I shouldn’t have said this. Or like a fight with a friend or a deadline or something at work that just happened. So expansion means we put this in context, right?
So for me, practically speaking, sometimes I just need to close the computer, take a moment, breathe, regulate my body and remind myself everything’s gonna be okay. This is a blip, a spec in the ocean of life, right? So we contextualize things, we expand out cuz otherwise this minutia, these day to day situations, which may feel like such a big deal at the time, we let it go for a little while and then we catch ourselves and reset and then eventually we catch ourselves before we go in. It’s just this little blip that provides so much protection of our organ integrity and protects us against decay and breakdown. It is this expansion which keeps us out of the drama. It is this expansion emotionally that keeps us from going in to the judgment, going into the commenting, which will never serve us. It will never allow us to feel good.
We will then compromise our energy, our vitality, creativity, everything tanks when we start to go into these lower darker energies. So when we feel ourselves starting to get in, we’re starting to get annoyed. We’re starting to get into a conversation which we know is a slippery slope into gossip or judgment. We wanna zoom out, change the subject, take a break, excuse yourself, get a glass of water, go outside, go to the bathroom, and then just remind yourself what is the expanded approach here. And so the high frequency emotions, which some scientists like Dr. David Hawkins have attempted to measure in certain ways. The expanded energies are love, connection, empathy, compassion. The more we expand these, we choose this, it’s moment to moment. It’s not like, oh, now I’m this compassionate person forever. It’s that moment to moment choice. So expansion in your life happens moment to moment.
We could be coming out of this really incredible meditation and feel so connected and expanded and then we move into the next room and boom, something happens. So there’s a choice, we can come at it, we can continue to come in this expanded way. And sometimes we do that. We wanna, you know, hopefully go that route more and more. And sometimes we choose this limited way, which at the time it’s like a trigger reaction or something we know where we get really annoyed and then it doesn’t feel so expanded. It feels really limited. So we just wanna be aware as we move through, we’re all human, we’re all gonna go into those limited places until we really step into this, you know, river, one day, one
Lifetime, one year one at one point into full expansion with spirit. You know, we, you know how that plays out. We don’t really know as humans. But what we do know is that life is a set of really moment to moment experiences. Life is now. So how can we choose expansion now is the tip I wanna leave you with. Now in this conversation, in this email, in this interaction with my neighbor or my coworker or whatever it is, expansion is love. Expansion is forgiveness, Expansion is getting past the details and then limitation. And where the inflammation tends to be cuz we’re stressing ourselves out, is staying really small and narrow and holding on. It’s not really gonna benefit us. So in all the ways and all the many interactions that happen through the day, how can we continue to expand, look bigger, give this person a break, give ourselves a break.
Expansion from a Spiritual Growth Perspective
And so now we move towards our fourth corners to hon, which is spiritual growth. And this is the very heart of the expanded perspective. And this is where Paramahansa yoga, the great yoga guru who brought yoga to the west, who I credit with so much of my life’s success and progress and growth because these teachings, these yoic teachings have forever changed my life. And one of the things he teaches us, and many of the great teachers is that the way to bliss, the way to real success is to expand your identity, your sense of self. So the ego thinks of us, it makes us think that we are this again, limited thing that’s gonna break down and wear out. And what we see with our physical senses, what we sense in the mirror, what we see with our eyes, what we see about ourselves spatially, our body weight and so on and so forth.
But this expanded perspective is that the true self energy inside of you, this formless energy is, is a connection, it’s a drop. It’s of the source that’s breathing into the creation of every single thing that you see in every person and every plant and every animal, and every inanimate object as well. There is spirit, there’s universe, there’s source. So when we expand out to feel the oneness or the connection, the unity with all things, as we work towards this perspective, great peace comes great love. A great relaxation is how I’ve experienced it. Because there’s less protection and like me, mine fighting our way versus, oh wow, we’re all in this, I’m connected to everything. There’s so much love, there’s so much that comes from that. So we’re not gonna get there overnight.
But the practice here, the real tip is to start or to restart. Getting so committed to your morning daily meditation. My goal, a goal I would like to suggest to you is to try to do 40 days in a row. Now, even if your meditation in the morning is only two minutes, five minutes, our practical enlightenment guided meditations on our app are about seven, eight minutes. So you can get up 10 minutes earlier or so and just commit to this. What happens when you sit is you close your eyes and we move into the PR inside we connect with the spine, the central nervous system. So this then is putting us in this continuum of unity between us and the whole, this expanded perspective will give us this responsive, more connected, in tune way of communicating with our, in our relationships and our communications and our whole perspective win-win.
What do I create for the, for the whole? How can I do this in the most loving way? It changes the moment to moment experience. So what we wanna do, we’re working towards that, is we wanna meditate as close as possible to waking up before we get into the mind and into the head and to the emails and into the talk and so and so forth. We wanna just really be in this, in this space of connectivity. And what happens naturally is our breath starts to slow and Yoon teaches us that breath is the cord that connects, that ties our soul to the physical body. So without forcing this, what happens is we continue to do our meditations and our prone Yama practices. There starts to be more of this natural breathless state that comes in between the breaths. And we start to feel, oh, I’m expanding, expanding beyond the physical body.
So this is where we’re going with the yoga practice. This is what meditation is all about. It’s not just about relaxation, although this is a very potent, wonderful offshoot. It’s about union, Union with all of life, union with God, union with spirit. And then this union comes forth, this oneness, this expansion, which transforms your entire life. So the personal power of expansion means that you are centered. You will be more in tune, you will be more intuitive to all ideas, all beneficial things that may come forward. Not just a limited set of ideas and opinions and your stress levels, your inflammation will go down because things don’t have to be a certain way. You don’t have to force things, you don’t have to, you know, get someone to see your perspective or follow this linear thing like your diet to a tea. This expanded perspective will give you great power because there’s just so much more dynamic, um, choice making that comes into play.
So what it’s done for my life is much more peace, much more productivity, effective productivity. I feel like, you know, I’m just open. And so I feel really good at my body <laugh> and I’m eating. I, I eat very, very similarly to what I have shared with you guys over the years. There’s little tweaks some days I’m more drawn to this or that, but those little shifts make a really big difference. And then, um, just like with my body care, everything just feels more aligned. And when we feel aligned in our life, we do feel a lot stronger as we move through and then we’re able to touch and reach our potential more and more. So lots here to take with you and to um, hopefully really apply and integrate into your life. There are tons more resources I have for you, so please be sure to check out the show notes over at mysolluna.com for recipes, meditations, and um, articles, other podcasts.
