Some of us really love working at home, including myself, and some of us do not like working at home at all, which is something that I’ve heard from friends, colleagues, and people around. Whichever boat you’re in, we know that over the past year and half, to two years with COVID and everything going on, we have certain realities that we have to step into.
For a lot of us, that includes working at home more, or maybe for the first time. And again, there’s definitely challenges. There’s positives, like not having to commute, having your own space, and being a little bit more flexible with your hours.
However, there are challenges as well, including boundaries between work and home life and having access to your fridge all the time and productivity challenges and all sorts of things.
We’re going to talk about that today, because this is something that’s an important part of life and we want to feel really good about our work life and our balance with our home life and make it the most easeful and wonderful experience possible.

Question #1 around the topic of: Wellness Tips To Improve Your Stay-At-Home Job: I love working from home but my butt and hips don’t. ;( I definitely need to figure out how to balance what and how much I eat rather than just grabbing what’s fast and convenient. I don’t want to blame my job for the weight I’m gaining. Any suggestions I can start right away?
Our first question comes from Brie and she lives in Oregon. Sending you love out there. My beauty and Oregon, I love love Oregon. I’ve been there in June and I think August. So I’ve been lucky to be there in the summer where the mountains are beautiful and everything’s so green and lush. And I just think it’s such good vibes. So sending you a big virtual hug out there, Bree, she writes, I love working from home, but my butt and hips don’t, I definitely need to figure out how to balance what and how much I eat rather than just grabbing what’s fast and convenient.
I don’t want to blame my job for the weight. I’m gaining any suggestions I can start right away. So breathe. Thank you so much for your question. I think this is something that we’ve all struggled with in your various degrees and various iterations over this past period, because when we’re at an office, it’s easier in a way to just have set times to break for lunch or to grab one snack and bring it to your desk or eat outside or whatever it is. And it’s different when we’re sort of in that flow of just, you know, maybe I need another break, procrastinating getting up, heading, you know, to, to another snack or reaching for something else. And it can start to feel a little bit messy. So I do have some suggestions here and some things that have helped me. And the first thing is really starting to define for yourself, those periods of eating and snacking and trying to make it a concrete schedule, the way that you would, if you were at an office.
So the reason this is important is you were treating it as specific times. It’s important for your digestion. Number one, it’s important for your energy. Number two, because if we’re always eating, it means we’re always digesting. It means your energy starts to drop. And then you feel like you need another snack or you need some more caffeine or you need some sugar, or you need something to keep going. So you want to still stick to a regular routine. This is part of the aryuveda Dina Charia teaching, which is that a regular schedule of eating and sleep and other daily activities keeps your body healthy and happy. Your body loves routine. It regulates all the different systems of the body, as I mentioned, digestion, but also your sleep patterns, your nervous system starts to regulate. You can start to feel more calm because your body knows what to expect more.
And it’s not this erratic pattern. So depending on when you start working Brie, when you wake up, I would really start to dial in your routine. And of course, sometimes you may have a long zoom call or you have a meeting or something and it’s not perfect and you don’t have to feel like you’re perfect, but you really want to define that. And you could even write it down. You can print it, or you could write it by hand and put it somewhere near your desk where you see it. And so it’s like, okay, eight to eight 30, I drink my glowing green smoothie. You know, I’m just making this up, but you know, whatever it is for you at 10 to 10 30, I have my breakfast or my morning wrap or whatever. It’s exactly what I did today, by the way. And I know it’s eight to 7 45 to eight 20 ish is when I have my GGS because I’m up really early.
And that’s the time 7 45 around then is when I leave to drive Bubby older son to school. And then lunchtime, you know, one o’clock or whatever it is, you know, this is when I eat. And then I usually get hungry around 4, 3 34, I have a snack. And then I eat dinner at six and I really try to stick with some iteration of that. And it’s easier to plan. And like you said, it’s not just grabbing what’s fast and convenient because you sort of know what’s coming and then mentally you can start to say, okay, well, I know that I like to have this smoothie then. So maybe I batch make it for a couple of days, or I know that I’m always hungry at three 30. So I need, next time I go food shopping. I need to get some, um, almonds, some cashews, some, you know, ingredients for a power protein smoothie, whatever it is so that I am prepared for that snack.
So really by virtue of creating a schedule, it will set you up for more organization, more batch cooking, better planning ahead. And it starts to eliminate those fast, easy, but not always the healthiest options so that you start to feel stronger and stronger in your body and you start to feel better. And, um, that’s really, really important. The other thing that I would suggest Brie is, you know, you talk about your butt and your hips and being there. Um, it’s really important to get up and move periodically. So for me, I do my walk in the middle of the day. I do it around 1230. I time it with baby’s nap. I time it so that I can walk and get home before I pick up E from school Bobby from school. Um, but it’s essential to me. And it also breaks up the work day and getting up and moving just, it feels like I’m revitalizing my energy.
So I’m less dependent on relying on food. And I don’t feel like stuck and stagnant because a lot of times when we’re experiencing food cravings or reaching for different foods, it’s because we want to shift our energy and we’re starting. We want to like find a way to project the energy and fix it or shifted or move it. And so food just becomes this easy, super convenient way to do that. But if we’re walking, if we’re getting up, if we’re, you know, doing something else, a lot of times we shift that energy and it takes this sole focus away from, from food. So, um, you know, the, the third thing is really dialing in the clutter. And I know this sounds funny, but clutter is, you know, fundamental funkshway principle is that when there’s clutter, there’s clutter in our mind. And so we don’t feel clear the energy isn’t moving, we start to feel more stuck.
And then I always find that leads to messier and messier food habits. So you want to just keep your space where you work, clean, tidy, get rid of old papers, get rid of old glasses and things that pile up. I sometimes look and I’m like, oh my gosh, I have three team hugs on my desk. So you want to keep it clutter-free. So you have space in your mind and your body to breathe. It just feels so much better. And then I would suggest that in the, in your kitchen, you also keep it clean and tidy so that you just have more inspiration to make a healthy salad or a super smoothie instead of reaching for something junky, because you don’t want to deal with your kitchen. So I would definitely suggest that and see how that works for you. Again, number one, creating a solid, a defined food schedule.
You may not stick to it all the time, but will help create a framework of regularity in your body and in your schedule and in your digestion. Number two, I recommend getting up walking, moving your body and number three, removing clutter, and these are three ways to positively impact your food habits. Then again, some of the things that don’t seem related are related because it all works together, which is one of the things that we emphasize so strongly with our four cornerstones food body, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth. If we want to have amazing results in food, for instance, we don’t just look at food. We look at, you know, what’s going on emotionally in our body and spiritually to really, um, expand and elevate our food cornerstone as well. So give it a try re let me know how you do. All right, our next question comes from Hope and she lives in Texas. She writes, I really want to grow my business. And I’ve recently reached, received some partnership opportunities. My question is how do you discern between which partnerships to take on and which to say no to I’ve had some negative experiences in the past. And I only want to call on those who have good intentions and my brand. So hope I love this question. And this is something that I have personally definitely dealt with over the years when it comes to partnerships and it comes to people, you know, wanting to work with you and coming in your space. And in the past, I had a harder time creating healthy boundaries, and it’s something I’ve really worked on. And I have to say that I work on those healthy boundaries, even with my friends, because I really need to go to sleep earlier. These chase I’m up so early with Moses, the baby.
And I just don’t feel as good unless I sleep. So I’ve had to create healthy boundaries around, you know, just being upfront and been like, oh, you know, I love you guys. I gotta head to bed, you know, with the baby and all. And I use my voice and that way I stay connected to my heart and what feels good to me. So I would encourage you hope to take that in. When it comes to partnerships, you stay in your heart, you stay connected to your intuition and the feelings in your body. Because if we just listen to the mind, the mind might say, oh, look, more money. I can bring in. This is a great, easy way to jump up my revenue or my income or whatever it is. But then you don’t feel as good about the partnership. And then you feel like you’re selling out, or you’ve done something out of alignment.
And it never, ever really works in the end when we take that route. So what I encourage you to do hope is, and this is what I do is I meditate. And then I feel really clear. And then I call in a question like, is it, should I work with such and such? And you sit there in that really potent space, which is clear, you’ve been breathing into your body, your mind, hasn’t been focused on a million different external things. So then you have that ability to get a clear answer back, and then you can, you can really feel the intuition rise up. And I would listen to that. That’s where real discernment comes from. It doesn’t mean you have to bad mouth, that person or talk badly about them or whatever. You can always be in love and respect and communicate that way. But you can start to discern more and more out of the thinking mind again, this post meditative space, which is where we have worked to let the thoughts settled down.
It’s an excellent time to ask these questions and to listen to what arises in you, what arises in hope, because that’s where the clear answer comes in. That’s that’s the channel to the divine and the true self. And that’s where the wisdom comes in. We tend to make more and more mistakes when we’re just listening to the head, right? We’re just going off surface things like, um, again, money or, you know, trying to rationalize something. And I’m not saying that there isn’t a place for logic and reason we take in the logic and reason we evaluate the factual aspects of any partnership or any potential opportunity, but it’s, and this, you know, includes work well, you know, opportunities, also personal relationships, right? The facts, oh, this person is X, Y, Z. They live in my city and, you know, they, the, whatever it is, here’s the facts.
But then the heart will give you the real answers beyond that. So it’s great when the facts and the heart match up, but sometimes they do not. And those are the times that I encourage you to go with the heart. So I had a partnership opportunity come up a couple of years ago or many, you know, probably, um, now almost 10 years ago now it was somewhat sometime after the beta detox solution hit. And I was starting to get your media attention. And, you know, I was starting to, to, to grow financially because I was in a very rock bottom place. Prior to that, I was broke after backpacking. And I had this big opportunity come in. It was a six-figure opportunity from, um, who shall remain nameless, but it was from big pharma. And they wanted me to partner with them and be kind of a spokesperson.
And it was like dangling this carrot in front, right? Because I was like, wow, that amount of money for me right now would change my life situation. But my heart was like, no way you can’t sell out. You do not believe in this product that they are selling. And I would never want to take it. And I would not encourage you beauties that I love so much and our community to take it so no way. And I feel that being true and really discerning, which is one thing I can say I’ve been proud of. I’ve never sold out. And it means, you know, could have grown things maybe a little bit faster or bigger by this point with the, you know, my own bank account or whatever. But I’m okay with that. Because to me being honest and holding integrity is way more important than money.
It’s way more important than any one opportunity. I mean, that’s what we have. We have our, we have our integrity, we have our word. We, we can lie with ourselves at night and know that we have lived up to our own truth. And that’s so important. So hope only, you know, your own truth, my love. So again, I would just sit with each opportunity and see what your heart says and how that lines up for you and your heart will always lead you, right? So I’m beauty is you can try this as well with, again, relationships, with decisions for your child, like picking a school or, you know, whatever it is or organizing activity like is this the right path for me, whatever it is really tune into your own true self, your own true selves voice, which happens again more clearly after you meditate.

All right. My loves, we are back from our break and we have two more questions for you on this topic, really improving your experience of you’re a stay at home job. Our first question comes from Trina and she lives in green bay and she writes, first of all, love big warm hug sister out there. I have not been to green bay, but I’ve heard great things. I feel like it’s a really powerful community based on how, uh, you know, um, avid the sports fans are. And, um, you know, it just feels like a really lovely place to be from. So sending you a big hug, she writes, how do I prioritize my to-do list at home and work? I’ve heard it’s best to just accomplish two to three key things on my list each day, but I feel like everything is a priority and he advice on how to decide what to do first, other than deadlines.
Oh my gosh. So this is a really, really big one for me. And I have a lot to say about this one. So the more I go along, the more I realized that there was more to productivity than just this very linear, like punch, punch, punch, go through it, push, push, push. And this is something that I talked about my podcast without AdaPia d’Errico. If you want to check that out, we will link to it in the show. Notes was a dear friend of mine, and she is in real estate finance. And she, you know, she talks about spirituality and work and she talks about real productivity. And so when it comes to, you know, creating your best stuff, it’s not as linear. Like I said, it’s pushing through a list it’s really about tuning into your energy and seeing where it leads you that day.
So I’ll give you an example and this really has to do with flow. I look at my to-do list is as varied as you know, writing emails, you know, answering some emails back to editing part of the book, recording podcasts, doing some social media videos, writing the content for the Solluna Circle, right? So I’m recording the practical alignment meditations. So I’ll look at that list and you’ll see that some of it is very inward, like the editing, the writing, the coming up with the content. Some of it is very outward. You know, you have to have a certain energy, or I feel like I do to be on camera to record a video for instance, or I had to be at a certain energy to feel like I can hold space for you by recording a meditation. So I have to go with my energy.
So if I’m feeling more yin that day, I go with the, in tasks on the list. And if I’m feeling that outward energy, like, yes, yes, let’s do it. Let’s go. I’m ready to record. I go with that and it always produces the best results. So this comes down to self attunement and self-awareness because our energy shifts day to day, moment to moment. And, you know, for us women, it also shifts according to our moon cycles and where we are in our periods cycle. So I know when I’m getting my period, it’s really tough sometimes to be outward. And so yang and, you know, focused on all this outward stuff because internally it’s this period of feeling like stepping back and resting. And so we can’t fake energy and we can’t push ourselves to be where we are not. And so I would encourage you to really start the process of tuning in and seeing where you sit in your energy that day.
So as you look at your to-do list, Trina taking the time to ask yourself, you know, what jumps out at me today, what aligns with me. And just as I was saying, um, a bit earlier to, um, to hope actually about our partnership question, like, how do I know what to go with? What decision do I make? It’s a really powerful thing to ask this after you meditate. So I would say the same thing. I really try not to do much until after I meditate. I really don’t. I mean, you know, I’m on the west coast, so I, I will scan emails, right? Because there’s stuff, maybe pressing stuff that comes up from the east coast things I need to deal with. But in general, I try not to do much until I really center myself and I meditate. And then I’m really tuned in to my energy, to the flow instead of, oh, oh, like this frantic energy of, oh my gosh, I have to get so much done.
Where do I go? What do I do? And I already feels like I’m not, you know, not aligned and I’m not going to put out my best stuff as hard as I push and try. So rather I sit back, I meditate and then I survey my list and I like to write my to-do lists by hand. And then I just kind of circle a few things. I reprioritize based on my energy, because I know that if I go with my own internal energy and I flow with that, that is always when I create the best stuff. And when I don’t, that’s when I have to rerecord that’s when things feel like a struggle, it’s when I’ve done this video, six times, it’s not coming out the way I want it to come out. And so that is, you know, a critical piece here that we need to start really, um, you know, working on that inner connection and trusting that wisdom that comes from inside of us.
And the more we trust that the more we can start to go with that and flow with that. And then life just starts to feel like it’s, you know, it’s, it’s flowing in such a, in such a more easeful way. And yes, we are starting to create more and more of our best stuff. So I hope that that helps Trina. I remember that Trina inside of you, you have the wisdom and you have the answers. It’s really just about turning inward and asking that question, that those questions inward into yourself and going with that.

All right my loves, we are heading into our next and final question, which comes from Meg and she lives in St. Louis. So my love sending you a vague virtual hug out there. I’ve actually spent a lot of time in St. Louis over the years. My former partner is originally from St. Louis, although we met here in Los Angeles, but I’ve spent many Thanksgivings there, many trips there, and wow, I was surprised at how green and beautiful it really is there. So sending you lots of love her question is I recently went through a big change with my job just when I thought I had life and career figured out, it was ripped out from under my feet. I started to journal truly for the first time to sort through my feelings. It very quickly became an internal Fest with myself. My pages were filled with negativity and hate. I want to be honest with myself, but journaling has started to become unhealthy. Do you have any advice on how to make this practice more healing than depressing?
Amazing love. I love this question. I love your raw honesty here, and I think it’s really beautiful. So there’s a lot of things I want to say. Number one, sometimes when these things happen and the shifts come at great change is often a blessing in disguise is always part of a divine plan. A bigger plan. I know you may have heard this before, but I can say as someone who has gone through some changes and S you know, sudden ones and shifts and things, didn’t work out. Now that I look back, I can really see the gifts and I can see the growth, and I could see how that actually led to, you know, this unfolding and that unfolding. So I just want you to try to find a place in your heart, Meg, of, instead of resistance, working on acceptance. And so I did a solo cast earlier this week, and I think you’re going to love it very much.
It’s five daily rituals for accepting yourself more. And I talk about acceptance as a way of finding harmony in the present moment, because when we do that, we remove the blocks of resistance and they really are blocks. And so what you’re talking about here, journaling about negativity and hate. Those are all part of the blocks, my love, and we’re not able to really move forward and to make positive shifts and changes until we find acceptance. It doesn’t mean we have to love it. It doesn’t mean that, you know, it’s a great or whatever it feels great right now, but it means that we find peace with it. And that really shifts the energy. It makes things open up, it creates more magnetism. It means more will be drawn into you, and you will repel, you know, potentially great opportunities, great people, you know, whatever it is.
So it’s really, really important to, first of all, find that place of acceptance and to find that place of peace within yourself. And so I would start working with specific journal prompts that aren’t just, you know, there, there is a time I think for like freeform journaling, where we’re just sort of getting things out. And it sounds like that period has passed for you and you’ve gone through it. And then I think there’s the journaling that is prompting you to look and to see things that may be harder for you to see on your own. So, one thing I would encourage you to journal about is how can I accept this situation? Number one, number two, what are the gifts of this situation? What can I be grateful for? And at first, this may feel really tough, but the more we can start to turn a situation and look at it from a different perspective, it means that we don’t identify with it as strongly, and it opens up space for that perspective to come in.
And when we open up space, it means that we open up more energy. So how can I find acceptance? What are the gifts of this situation? What am I grateful for about this situation? And number three, you can write about what would I like to create now, what does this make space for now? You know, maybe you thought you had it figured out, but actually when you step back, you realize that there was, you know, some things that were a little bit off or now you can actually pursue something else that you really are into, or maybe this gives you the opportunity to, you know, I’m just making this up, but, you know, look at things in a more entrepreneurial way or more collaborative way or go in this different direction. So prompts can be really, really insightful. And, um, I will say that there’s great prompts that we have every month and the Soluna circle, if you’d like to join our sisterhood.
My love, um, our, our theme in October is awakening your spiritual self and very powerful month where we talk about going past the limits of the ego, the voice that tries to take you down that tells you that you’re small, that tells you that things have to be a certain way. Otherwise you won’t be happy and how we can step into more alignment with our truth and our unlimited potential, and to go into that flow and to see more abundance, more creativity, more love in our lives. And, uh, you know, I think that the, the, the prompts that I, that I, that I offered to you, you know, hopefully I’m, I’m hoping that will help you again, shift the situation, but sometimes, you know, journaling is such a beautiful process of, of paper, um, pen to paper, or getting things out of you, but we don’t want it to, to, to be reinforcing limited negative thoughts. So I’m so glad you caught yourself here with your own wisdom. And you said to yourself, wow, this isn’t feeling like the most beneficial thing, because journaling is also a tool for opening tool for more awareness tool for, um, just going deeper and deeper into yourself. And so it’s like shadow work. So it shouldn’t always, you know, always feel like that section session, you know, that can be a part of it too, if you feel like you need to vent and you want to get that out of you, but it’s also looking within yourself, looking within Meg, looking at how, what is she making this mean?
Thought of the Week
How is this, you know, perhaps over effecting her or effecting herself worth, or keeping her in a trauma loop of anger, resentment. And so the journaling, again, with these prompts can really help to bring some more light to the situation so that you don’t get stuck in that loop. So I hope that helps my love. And let me know how you do with those prompts and let me know how you do in general. I send you so much love. And again, reminder that sometimes these things work out to be huge, big, enormous blessings. So before we sign off my loves, I want to leave you with the thought of the week, which is stand in your light for it is the most powerful place that you can be. So whether you’re working at home or you’re working at the office or you’re here, or you’re there, or it’s morning time, or it’s nighttime, there is the light inside of you that you can connect to.
The light is the wisdom. The light is spirit, universe source, whatever word you want to use, the light is the true self. And you want to connect with that. And when you do that, that is the most powerful place to be because we can con we can move from that connection. We can, we can take action from that connection. We can align to it. We can rely on that from helping us with decisions, helping us. That is the voice of intuition as well. So I feel all of the intuition coming through these questions like knowing, okay, the journaling, isn’t exactly helpful for what I need, you know, whatever it is that’s coming forth. And we can then turn it into something beneficial and beautiful and find more love and peace and acceptance and harmony and flow. The more we stand in the light, we always have a choice and you know, we’re not perfect.
We’re on this journey, but we know that feeling when we’re starting to go into the dark, we’re starting to and moan too much, or we’re complaining, or we fall into victim HUD, or we gossip or whatever it is. We bring ourselves back to the light. We stand in the light and we aligned to that. And then life will always, always flow more. And you will always feel in your true power.
