Today’s solocast topic is: Moving Through Self-Doubt and How To Become A Peace Warrior
I think all of us feel these real and at times debilitating self-doubts that creep in in many different ways. We may see something that triggers us on social media or something happens at work, or someone makes a comment or whatever it is we go to that place of, maybe I’m not good enough. Maybe I’m not enough. Maybe I was silly to think that I was smart enough or had the skills to try this. And then we start to play really small. And when we do that, we really cut off our ability to be that warrior in life, which we define here is our ability to persevere, overcome obstacles, and create incredible things in your life.
And we all have that warrior quality inside of us, which is part of the True Self. There’s a whole chapter in the new book called, You Are A Warrior, and I want to talk about this topic today because I think that self doubt, which is an aspect of fear, is one of the most debilitating things.
I’ve gone through this book launch in the past few weeks and I had a real attack, so to speak, of self-doubt halfway through the book launch week, and I want to talk about it here today, because I think when we share our experiences, we realize we can learn and grow from hearing others stories. And also today, I want to share some of the practical ways that I get through self-doubt and how you can get through self-doubt as well.

Hi Beauties and welcome back to our Monday solocast podcast, where our topic today is Moving Through Self-Doubt and How To Become A Peace Warrior. And I think all of us feel those real, um, at times debilitating PS of self-doubt that creep in in many different ways. We may see some, something that triggers us on social media or something happens at work, or someone makes a comment or whatever it is we go to that place of, oh, you know, maybe I’m not good enough. Maybe I’m not enough. Maybe I was silly to think that I was smart enough or had the skills to try this. And then we start to play really small. And when do that, we really cut off our ability to be that warrior in life, which we define here is our ability to overcome per, uh, persevere, overcome obstacles, create incredible things in your life.
And we all have that warrior quality inside of us, which is part of the true self. There’s a whole chapter. The new book called you are a warrior, but I wanted to talk about this topic today because number one, I think that self doubt, which is an aspect of fear is one of the most debilitating things. So I wanted to really address it here with you. And number two, I’ve gone through this book launch in the past few weeks and I had a real attack. So to speak of self-doubt halfway through the book launch week, which I shared a little bit about on my Instagram, but I wanna talk about it here today, because I think when we share our experiences, we realize, oh, we can really learn and grow from hearing from these, from each other’s stories. And also to day, I wanna share some of the practical ways that I get through self-doubt and how you can get through self-doubt as well.
Fan of the Week
So we can continue to really, uh, grow and nourish ourselves and continue on our journeys, man, life is up and down, right? It’s all these moments of expansion feeling good. And then we end up feeling traction sometimes, and this is normal and this is natural. And so I’m really excited to get into our show today. But, uh, before I do, I want to, um, give a shout out to our fan of the week before we dive right in. So let’s see here. Our fan of the week is named gracie_facie and she writes, I have this habit of taking a one to two year break from practicing anything ha ha ha. It tends to lead to semi depressive behaviors, weight gain, et cetera. I do not know why I do this, but I always have. I’ve been practicing for yoga for 13 years. And this last break was really hard.
I’ve been listening to your podcast and I am officially reinspired. Thank you so much, gracie_facie. I love this. I love your, uh, review. Thank you so much for being here, being part of the community. We all fall on, we fall back off. We, we come back on, we fall off, you know, this, these cycles of life. And what we find is is we continue to come back to our practices. We continue to put out the effort. We do keep falling off, but it’s more like four steps forward, two steps back, right? So we keep progressing. I’m so grateful for you. I’m so glad to hear you are reinspired. Thank you. My love. Thank you for your review, sending you so much love and my loves my beautiful souls. Listening to this. Please be sure to also leave us a review on iTunes, which is such a great way to support the, and you may also be called out as the fan of the week.

Solocast: Moving Through Self-Doubt and How To Become A Peace Warrior
And so I’m really excited to share the information in there with you to help you blossom and grow and expand in your life in all areas, vitality, abundance, and more. Okay. All that being said, let’s get into our topic today, really move. How do we move through self-doubt and how do we become a peace warrior? And so self-doubt is that debilitating mind? Chatter? Of course it’s the voice of the ego. So when we over-identify with the ego, we start to feel that chatter get kicked up more and more in our daily life.
#1. Keeping your body clear and clean
So in practical terms, the first thing I wanna talk about is keeping your body clear and clean. The reason this is important is because when our bodies are clear and clean, we have less stagnation stagnant energy in our GI tract. There’s more circulation, there’s more chronic life flow. We say in YOIC terms, there’s more energy moving through and around us.
So this is one of the reasons that the yogis have always preached about a clean, healthy diet. It really does support energy that’s moving. And especially when we’re working to make shifts for, you know, reading the new book, we’re starting to meditate. We’re making the glowing green smooth. We really do wanna remove stagnant energy from our body. So this is a general one, but over time it does lead to more progress in this regard. So we really wanna make sure that we are cleaning out our body. We do this with food, with supplements, with twists. So I’ll start to break this down. Um, couple things hot water with ginger is really wonderful right now just to really enhance digestion and to make sure that things are moving through your system. So if you drink hot water with lemon in the morning, you can add some ginger to it, or you can just sip on ginger water throughout the day.
Like I do sometimes here at my desk, just sipping on that hot water is really wonderful. Number two, increase your fiber intake. So drink your Glowing Green Smoothie®, more salads, one pot meals, bouts of vegetables, only plant foods have fiber. So you wanna keep that really, um, that intake really high in your life. Number three, cut out sugar. So we are in the cozy months, I’ll say I was in New York and I know, uh, I got that, you know, that extra shock of cold. So I know that it’s a time where we may reach for comfort foods more, but we, we really wanna make sure that we are keeping our sugar intake. Um, we we’re watching it. We’re not overindulging in sugar, which has that effect of creating dysbiosis in our gut. It leads to all sorts of, um, just, uh, limits the body in many different ways for right.
And we won’t go on and on. We could do a whole podcast just on sugar, but watch the sugar watch. If you know, the treats are starting to creep up, watch for hidden sources like drinks, hot drinks, things that you get, make sure that any nut milks or anything you’re buying at the store are unsweetened. So we really wanna keep up that flow and sugar become is a real hindrance. So the body clear and clean is going to help over time with the self-doubt. It’s really important that we take care of the body, which does impact our mental state.
The second, um, tip that I wanna give you is to work for something greater than yourself. So the past week I just started to get into my head a little bit with the book launch. It does feel very vulnerable to put something out in the world in such a big way.
I was doing television segments. I was on Good Morning America. And I was on all these podcasts and doing press and everything was going really great. And then Thursday, so that’s like halfway partway through lunch week. I just had this ego attack of deep self-doubt. And I started thinking to myself, the overanalyzing, you know, maybe people don’t care what I’m writing about. Maybe people won’t really understand me, you know, like look at the world. And I see everybody, you know, looking at the TikTok dancing and all this stuff out there. And you know, what I’m writing about is really different. So, you know, I’m writing about these ancient teachings and, and, and I just, I, you know, no matter where we are, no matter what we’re doing, it could be something related to our children. It could be related to work or something with your significant other or something in your family.
#2. Change your environment
I don’t care what it is when we get into the ego, we really get tripped up. So I started to get really down on myself and I, I started to think what if I was wrong about everything? You know, what if I was so clear about writing this book, but what if I was off? What if people don’t care? What if people don’t really wanna read it? So I started really getting in my head and I needed to, um, first, well, actually, let’s, let’s talk out these in a little bit of a different order. The first one was, keep your body clear and clean. The second one is in the middle of an attack, a ego attack, change your environment, go for a walk and incorporate a mantra. So let’s do that part next. And then we’ll go to work for something greater than yourself.
So when this attack hit me, I was really, I felt like really limited, you know, was that old feeling that I’m familiar with that I think all of us feel in those moments of self-doubt I felt really frustrated. I cried. Um, I had to call in my husband and he was watching the kids for a little bit and I just needed some space. So I went down here into my office and I let myself cry and really feel the feelings. And then I picked myself up. I put on my, you know, my yoga pants. And then I went for a walk because in times where the mind is really strong, it’s strong for all of us. And I’ve been doing these practices now for 12, 13 years, but I still feel it too. So in those times changing environment is sometimes the most beneficial thing we can do just to really just help break that pattern.
So I went for my walk that I do every day. I told my husband, okay, I need to do it right now. And so during the walk, I did my simple mantra, which peace, love, peace, love, and mantra means tool of the mind. There’s a chapter in the new book about how to specifically work with mantras. But here I can say that we just link our mind. We focus our thoughts on, you know, it could be one word. It could be a Sanskrit phrase, but very simple in the beginning. Peace, love, peace love. So I was walking and I was moving my body, which started to feel good for moving energy, getting circulation going. I was in nature. The sun was out and I was saying this a mantra just to get my mind under control, peace, love, peace, love. We need a, a period sometimes to really get the mind under control.
So I did this and after some time, you know, 20, 25 minutes, I started to really feel my whole system. Reregulate it took a little bit of time. This was a really deep ego attack, but I could just feel the relaxation inside of me. My shoulders were relaxing. My breath started coming back. You know, the, the, the calm parts of my brain that the, the parts, you know, not related to fight or flight and the extreme emotionalism started to turn back on. And I started to just feel a nice deep calmness side in. So that was the next thing I needed to do was just break my environment, do a practice, to get myself back into some sort of centered place.
#3. Work for something greater than yourself
And then number three, work for something greater than yourself. We all have this ability to be a warrior and a warrior. As I explain in the chapter, um, one of my favorite chapters, chapter three, you are a warrior.
Rarely does a great warrior work for themselves, right? We, we look back on, you know, the, the great warriors, William Wallace, Jonah VA, right? We think of all these, um, characters in Peter, um, Robinhood, right? They’re working for the greater good they’re working for the collective. They’re expanding beyond the ego. So I’m sitting on my walk and I start thinking to myself, it isn’t about me. It isn’t, if people understand me, it’s not, if people are gonna, like what I wrote, it’s not, if people are gonna see me, but it’s about, I wrote this book to help other pull, you know, I, I put my effort into this because I think these teachings really need to be accessible. This is for everyone. This is for the collective. This is not for you. So I keep coming back to that when the self doubt comes in, because it gives us strength.
It’s easier to work for our kids, for our loved ones for the community sometimes than it is to work for ourselves. We can get really down on ourselves. We can be really hard on ourselves. We can start to feel more and more of that frustration that, Ugh, I don’t wanna do this. I don’t wanna get outta bed. But when we say to ourselves, this isn’t about you. You’re here to support others. You’re here to lift others up. You’re here to spread the light that will energize is your efforts to come back in. Okay? Yep. I’m gonna try again. I’m gonna refocus. I’m gonna look at things in a different way. I’m gonna come at it. Um, you know, with this, from this different angle, I’m gonna work on this different part of the project, because this, I need to give myself a break here, but I’m gonna go for this.
And that is what I experienced last Thursday. I went from that Ugh feeling, okay. I gotta go for a walk, calm myself down, use this mantra, and then remind myself that I’m working for something much bigger than myself. And then that really does, um, help, but we need more practices, right?
#4. Metabolize energies by processing feelings
So number four, we use the body again as a tool. So along the walk, there’s a place that overlooks the mountains, where I live. It’s really beautiful. It’s, you know, I climb up this hill and then there’s these little rocks that I can sit on. And I have this beautiful Vista view. And what I did was I sat and I went into my body again, and I finished off feeling and metabolizing the feelings and the emotions of the self-doubt. And so this is another practice that I share in the book about, but there is science to this as well.
We need to metabolize energies. We metabolize the energy of food, and then we let go of the waste. We discrete the waste as, um, bowel movements. And the same is actually true of emotions, which are energy and emotion when we don’t really process the self-doubt, but we kind of just, you know, distract, we eat a bag of chips or a bag of cookies, or we, you know, go on YouTube or we do whatever we’re doing. We don’t really finish off that feeling. So it kind of remains, they are stuck and it keeps coming back and back again. So once you’re in a more centered place, what I do is I sit for about 10 minutes and I feel into my body and I lean in, I allow myself to finish processing any feelings. The way that we do this is we don’t go to the thoughts, but we actually feel in our body, any tightness, any tension, any stagnation, we literally just sit in that area and we breathe through releasing that energy.
It’s a really important part of getting past self-doubt is to feel into it and let it go. Life is neutral. Things come up and things go when we have these reactions, when we have the ego attacks, it, it is related to old wounds. So part of healing, the wound is going back and really feeling and metabolizing everything that happened. Um, we, again, we don’t replay it in the mind, but the energy in the body, we just keep, we just keep letting it process and process and process. And that’s how we really heal. So allow yourself to just spend some time, time sitting, feeling tightness, intention, and breathing through it, without thinking through what the self doubt was, you feel into it. And this is a powerful thing that you can do in less than, you know, 10 minutes.
So then the next, um, the next part is, uh, or I think this is where are we now? Okay. Number one, talked about keeping your body clear and clean with food. And, um, I forgot to mention another extension of that. A very powerful thing you can do, which I take. Now, I’m in a period where I’m taking it every day, right now, as I’m working through some deeper emotional stuff is Detoxy, which is our oxygen nascent oxygen in magnesium and a S C two P stable vitamin C product, which is really powerful for just keeping things, moving, moving heavy, metals, toxins, old waste. It keeps your GI tract clean. It keeps your body clean. So for me, it’s also, I do it for spiritual reasons as well. When I’m constipated, I don’t like that bloated feel, I feel stagnant. I feel heavy. And in turn, I actually hold on to weight more and I hold onto the energies more around self doubt.
So anything we can do to keep the body clear and clean, keep things moving is gonna support us and moving more and more into our true self out of the doubt and into the inspiration and into the peace. Number two, like I said, when those attacks hit those ego attacks, change your environment, go for a walk, try incorporating a mantra, just like peace, love number three, and work for something bigger than yourself. Remind yourself of what your purpose is. Remind yourself that you are here to help others and make sure that you stay anchored to that. You remind yourself next is feel into your body and see anything else that you need to breathe through so that we don’t continue to hold onto any tight tightness or tension, which can then over time, turn into aches pains, self doubt that keeps coming up, indigestion, constipation, whatever it is we wanna make sure we’re feeling and metabolizing.
Um, the energies of self-doubt in our body. Next thing is organize your life. It’s easy for self-doubt to come in when things are more chaotic. When there’s more clutter, we start to feel that familiar overwhelm come up. And then we start to go to that familiar wounded place of, oh, well, maybe it’s me. Maybe I’m not good enough. Maybe I, I just, you know, I don’t have what it takes. Get organized. Follow your morning ritual every day. You know how with lemon, I say it over and over again. SBO probiotics, GGS meditation, but we, we need our practices to just keep us organized. It keeps the mind organized, keep throwing out the clutter, you know, keep your bathroom tidy, make your bed every morning. Even if it just takes, you know, two or three minutes, the, the mental health aspect act of having a clear tidy space allows us.
It supports us, um, from dropping deeper, deep. It supports us in, in dropping, from dropping deeper and deeper into this place of self doubt and overwhelm. So anything you can do to organize, look, get your schedule, put things in your calendar, like your meditations. So you don’t get sucked into, you know, this whole cycle of binge watching on Netflix. And then you wonder where your energy is. You wonder where, why you’re not feeling inspired to create anything, right? So we wanna schedule things even time for journaling, time for meditating. Then you cut out things that don’t really serve you anymore. Right? We start to see, oh, well, if I keep up with, you know, cleaning the kitchen, then I don’t have to do this three hour clean up every Friday, which sucks up my whole Friday night. You know, we organize things. So look in your life.
Where am I disorganized is my desktop on my computer, a mess. It’s really hard to find files is my desk a mess. There’s a million, you know, old TEAC cups and things around keep organizing because a clear clean body makes us more conducive to expansion and a clear clean space as well is so important. So we harness our abilities and we harness our efforts and we keep going and we keep growing. And again, we less, we waste less time in overwhelm and then trying to clean up a mess, you know, literally speaking and figuratively speaking as well, but just all around a, we have a much, a cleaner environment.
#5. Overcoming Self-Doubt from The Four Cornerstone Perspective
So we’ve talked about many different aspects here. Um, I want to sum everything up now from a four cornerstone perspective so we can see how everything fits in, keep taking it back to this idea that when we live a holistic lifestyle, we are support in everything from our goals, our dreams, our body goals, our work goals, whatever it is. So food wise, we support ourself and self-doubt getting through self-doubt with keeping our body clear and clean. We focus on fiber, we cut out sugar. We add ginger to our diets. We add Oxy in, oh, sorry. That’s in the body. Cornerstone. We’ll go there next. So food wise, we’re just keeping our bodies clear and clean as much as possible, knowing that the better our digestion, the more we’re taking in nutrients and then releasing them, we’re gonna feel better in our bodies. And that will prevent overwhelm self-doubt from setting in number body wise.
We wanna utilize our bodies in many different ways in this regard. Number one, the right supplements, including detox, just to really flush out wastes again, stagnation leads S stagnant energy, which is where fear lives, mind, chatter. Self-doubt so take your, Detoxy also use, go for walks change environment. When ego attacks come in, use your legs, go outside, get in the sunshine, walk, get that circulation going, get the deep breaths going. And if you need to pair a walk with a mantra, when your mind is really going, just walk and say to yourself, peace, love, peace, love a mantra. Again, to rule of the mind is harnessing this very unruly horse, our minds, our monkey minds, which can go nuts all the time, harnessing it to something to focus on so we can go forward. And it’s very powerful. The other ways that we use our body is that we actually go in, excuse me, we drop past the thoughts and we go, and we feel tightness, tension, anything that we need to metabolize in our bodies for five to 10 minutes.
And this just really, um, closes out that process of self-doubt from feeling it, leaning into it, letting it through, and then allowing ourselves to refocus. Number three, emotional wellbeing, mental health. We give ourselves this time to process again, doing the walks, but we also remind ourselves of our purpose. We remind ourselves mentally and emotionally that we’re part of something much bigger. We are not isolated little beings. We’re part of this collective. We all are unique. We are all part of the whole. We are all here for a reason. So journaling giving yourself the space, falling back on supportive community. Like our Solluna Circle is going to really help give yourself this emotional support that we need. And it’s so important, uh, emotionally as well that we stay organized. We stay with our, uh, practices. We communicate well. We keep healthy boundaries, including with our work home environment, as busy as I am. I, I really do prioritize my meditations and my family and my team understands that. And so when, and we prioritize our own self care and taking care of ourselves, those around us will do the same. And so I, um, I encourage you to get organized with your processes and really follow through with keeping them there and then finally spiritual growth. And we didn’t talk about this before, but I talk about this a lot. And so I’ll, I’ll sum it up here.
All of these ego attacks are because we are tying so much of our attention and our energy and our worth still to this part of us, this surface part of us, of the doing, of what we see of what we look like of what other people are doing in the world. And that’s where I went to with my extreme self-doubt that hit last Thursday. It was just, you know, on the surface of, oh, like, what are, you know, what are people saying? Um, what are the numbers? Numbers are not healthy for me still. You know, I don’t, I don’t like to give them control, but I can see my mind going to numbers. As a reason, I don’t own a scale. My husband owns a scale. It’s all the way in the gym, over in the guest house, which is a place that I don’t go to, um, very much.
And I definitely don’t weigh myself very much because if I let myself creep been to numbers, it starts to really bring up the self-doubt. So for me, all of this, I know the truth, which is when the self-doubt comes, when the fear comes, it’s not real. It’s just the ego chatter. So the really safe place is to sing into the place underneath is the meditations. And for me, when I’m feeling that heavy, self-doubt I can’t go right there. I have to take that walk first. I have to really change my environment, move my body, take some breaths, get in the sun, go outside, and then I can meditate. So just know that that is true for me as well. You know, it’s hard to really sit before we release some of that energy. We get a perspective, but when I come back into meditation, after I’ve done those other steps, ah, like the relief will come. We wait, we breathe. We keep going. We keep going. And the more we surrender, the more we keep doing the practices. There’s this point where it’s this like the dam being released. That’s what it feels. All this resistance, all of this strong ego, it starts to, it’s like the dam opens up and this flood of relief just starts to come through.
And I feel it. I feel that again, this is the experiential. This is why I hammer home. That the practices are, what’s going to, what’s gonna give you the freedom that you’re seeking from the self-doubt because you can hear me say this. And it’s, you know, you, I hope you apply. Some are all of these tips, but when you experience, uh, you know, it was the chatter we let go of identifying with it so strongly. And I know it’s hard because I have identified with it so strongly for so many years, but do these practices. And then we do feel that floodgate open of this presence of love, right? This is the true self coming back in. This is God spirit source you universe coming in to say, Hey, none of that stuff you are telling yourself is true. You just got caught up in the surface stuff.
The world of delusion, what we see out there, the measurables, the quantifiable things, the numbers, none of it defines us, but we live in this world that does put an over-emphasis. So it’s up us to connect inside, to go to this place in meditation, where we find we access the safety and the security that’s underneath everything. And we can only experience it through our regular practice. So I encourage you as always let the meditations be the anchor of your life. They are the anchor of my life and the most important thing, my self-doubt has gotten a lot better. It is not gone. And I saw that with this book launch, wow, it comes back. And when it comes back, we meet it with the practices. We meet it with these tools that we have, and you know what? I get past the self-doubt faster. Now.
It doesn’t mean it go is away completely, but it comes less and it goes away faster. So I can say that from someone that maybe is a little bit further along in these practices, you will get relief. You can get through it. You can open up to being this incredible peace warrior in your life, but please continue to support yourself in the cornerstones, in all of these ways and, and notice how much easier it does get over time. I love you so much, and I am always here to support you. Um, I wanna read you a quote actually from the new book. This is from the last chapter called you are the true self. I just feel inspired to end the show today with this mantra or this affirmation that came to me while I was writing the book, the more I identify with the light inside of me, the brighter I become. So this is the truth. This is the light. This is who you really are. Do not over-identify with your ego, everything, all the self doubt. It is BS. The truth is that you are the light. You are the love. You are unique, and it is up to you to bring your gifts forward. That and else can. So thank you so much for being part of our community. I send you so much love. I’ll be back here, Monday and Thursday for our next Q and a podcast to then take great care. And again, not must stay so much love.
Keep doing your awesome work
