Today’s featured smoothie is my refreshing Apple Kiwi Pineapple Mint Smoothie. If you are looking for a blast of sweet, natural flavor paired with the freshness of spearmint, this smoothie has it all!
What’s So Great About Green?
Green is the color of love and our heart chakra. It helps to stabilize emotions, promotes healing and overall balance. A great and easy way to bring green into our lives is by growing some planter boxes of green plants into our kitchen and living spaces, to promote life force and living energy. And spearmint- the feature in our smoothie today- is amongst the easiest of herbs to grow!
Green veggies have more valuable nutrients than any other food group on the planet. You may even be surprised to know that they have high-quality, easily-assimilated amino acids – enough to build the protein that supports the muscle mass of the mighty, greens-eating gorilla.
By now I’m sure you’ve heard me talk about how this animal is pound-for-pound, the strongest on earth! By blending these greens, the nutrients are readily available to the body, giving us the strength and energy we need to face our jungle-like day.
Green Apples, Kiwi and Spearmint…
So what’s so great about these three green beauties?
First, green apples are a beautifying, low-sugar fruit. They are great to enjoy if you suspect you have a Candida issue, and are also great to keep around for the Candida/Low Sugar GGS recipe. They contain fiber, which moderates blood sugar levels and promotes good digestion, as well as vitamin C and potassium.
Kiwis are packed with more vitamin C than an equivalent amount of orange. They contain numerous phytonutrients as well as vitamins and minerals that promote your health. Because they contain plenty of fiber, they can reduce high cholesterol levels, which may reduce the risk of heart disease and heart attack.
Fiber is also good for binding and removing toxins from you colon, which is helpful for preventing colon cancer, staying youthful and vibrant, and is a key component of the Beauty Detox lifestyle. In addition, fiber-rich foods, like kiwifruit, are good for keeping the blood sugar levels of diabetic patients under control. Plus, this bright green speckled fruit with the tiny black seeds adds a bit of drama to any tropical fruit salad!
Last but not least, spearmint. Spearmint is a branching perennial herb of Mediterranean origin. It is widely used across Europe and in large parts of Asia and Africa in flavored drinks, salads, confectionery and as a garnish to recipes.
Spearmint is a pleasantly aromatic herb, packed with numerous health benefits, such as- vitamins, antioxidants and phytonutrients. These antioxidant vitamins include vitamin A, beta-carotene, vitamin C, folates, vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine), riboflavin and thiamin, and can be used for medicinal purposes.
Pineapples…
Pineapples are one of the most delicious fruits ever! On top of the hydrating elements of pineapple, it is also packed with bromelain. Bromelain has many health benefits, mainly helping with digestion. Pineapple is a great fruit to eat to help the body naturally detoxify itself and lose weight. The bromelain enzyme it contains is believed to have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce the onset of aging, pain and disease.
With all this talk about these amazingly fresh and vibrant goodies, don’t you think it’s time to give this smoothie a whirl!?
