Ready for another amazing smoothie bowl?! My Chocolate Ginger Beauty Acai Bowl Recipe is fully loaded with so many powerful and beautifying benefits. It will soon become one of your favorites.
Chocolate and ginger are a stellar combo, and chocolate and acai are a stellar combo. All together, it is just over the top!
If you want to increase your bliss, boost your immunity, create loads of energy (all while keeping your body in detox mode), then this bowl is for YOU.
Let’s see where all these benefits are coming from!
Beauty Chocolate: Cacao
Cacao is one powerful superfood and has been known to help protect from cellular damage, shed fat, and boost immunity. In addition, it helps to create loads of energy, improve your memory, and increase your bliss. Since true beauty is really about our overall energy and vitality, it truly is a beauty food in that way.
So all the more critical it is to promote feelings of love and joy to really help open up the energy of the heart chakra. And cacao is one way to do this since it contains the neurotransmitter anandamide known as the “bliss chemical.” In yoga, ananda means bliss.
Cacao also contains anandamide inhibitors—keeping the compound from breaking down quickly and the feeling of cacao anadamide lasting longer. We feel great longer!

Raw cacao contains nearly four times the antioxidant content of regular processed dark chocolate, 20 times more than blueberries!
Something to note is that cacao contains the stimulants of caffeine and has theobromine, even when labeled as “raw”. This means we need to be aware of over-stimulation. Why? Because it can tax our nervous system, making us feel worn out and/or stressed.
You don’t need to add much to this yummy bowl since cacao has plenty of flavor. Thank goodness, since I love chocolate so much, I have to remind myself that I can’t binge on chocolate every day!
You can purchase cacao at any health food store, or find some great online sites where you can buy it raw, organic and in bulk.
Beauty Root: Ginger
Ginger certainly has the power to add a special flavor and zest to many dishes, fresh fruits and even veggies. I love it for it’s amazing aroma, pungent taste and little bit of spice!
Ginger has all around health and beauty promoters but even more for it’s ability to detox. In fact, I use it in my Immunity Tea, slicing it thinly and steeping it in boiling water for a few minutes.
Keeping our body clean from the inside really plays a huge role on how we look and feel on the outside, and powerful ingredients like ginger do just that.
You will be happy to know that ginger also elevates your metabolism and has immune boosting action– being a warming root without the irritation. Ginger also promotes healthy sweating, which is often helpful during cold and flu season, since a good sweat really helps with the detoxification process!
In Chinese and Indian medicine, ginger has been used for years as an anti-inflammatory agent to treat numerous conditions like flatulence, jaundice, and even menstrual difficulties. More ginger, please!
And there’s usually no shortage in finding fresh ginger root since it’s available year round in your local market’s produce section. You can easily find fresh ginger at your local store, but opt for organic over the conventionally marketed variety, when possible. This is because organic varieties are grown in better soil that isn’t soaked in fertilizers and pesticides, as it is a root.
Choose ginger roots that feel firm all over with a light brown skin, and a beautiful gingery aroma when held close to the nose. We want to avoid any that have dark, soft or moist spots—which is a big red flag warming for mold—or those that look particularly dried out, with wrinkled skins.
Pick out the freshest roots, and ones at their peak, otherwise skip it until you find only the best. Remember, this is going into your body to help benefit your overall health and beauty, so you should only ingest the best.
Beauty Berry: Acai
I love acai! Why the obsession? Because these berries have powerful detoxification capacities in the human body, and are super high in antioxidants. After all, I am all about keeping out guts clean and running smoothly. ;)
Filled with fiber (a natural cleanser), minerals, and naturally sugar-free, you can feel good about what’s going into your afternoon snack, knowing it’s going to only bring out the best in your skin.
As mentioned, acai is filled with fiber, acting as a natural cleansers and keeping our colons free of harmful substances, and helping to alleviate constipation and other digestive problems.
Acai berries are actually capable of speeding up bowel transit time, in that they prevent foods from fermenting in the intestines, contributing to bloating, constipation, and gas (major beauty no-no’s!).
Acai can be found at most health stores (in the freezer section). My favorite brand that I’ve been using for years is the Sambazon Unsweetened Acai Smoothie Packets—made from delicious, organic acai, wild-harvested from the heart of the Amazon—using fair-trade practices and supporting and benefiting the local farmers!
It’s time to check out these super easy step-by-steps and start pumping our bodies full with these amazingly beautifying and cleansing ingredients!
