Hi Beauty!
I hope you are doing amazing. :) Today I’m going to talk about ashitaba, which is a plant you may or may not have heard of up until this point. It’s something that I am so, so impressed with. I want to share how you can source it, where you can find it, how you can use it.
Ashitaba is an Asian plant. It is a super green the way that moringa is. I love ashitaba so much because it’s not bitter the way that moringa is. I absolutely love it. It regenerates very quickly and is very powerful.
The Energy of Botanicals
When we look at a plant, we look at certain energeti properties. The way that this plant is showing up in the world, the way that it grows, lives, cycles and exhibits.
The qualities of the actual plant can impart some of those qualities to us. So this regeneration aspect of ashitaba makes it a super, vitality-enhancing and super rejuvenative plant. And like I said, it is not bitter, which is amazing.
It is full of B vitamins, antioxidants, minerals (like calcium and potassium). It’s incredibly nourishing.
I’ve been talking to one of my teachers about ashitaba, which hails from Asia and specifically in certain parts of Japan. He said, “This makes turmeric look like kid’s play.” (Botanists humor I suppose! :) :) ). Because ashitaba has such rejuvenative properties, it’s also an anti-inflammatory. It’s just this amazing, amazing green and so very powerful.
How to Purchase Ashitaba
You can be on the lookout for ashitaba either in a tea form, which is where we tend to get a lot of greens. Also, certain medicinal plants and botanicals is always an easy way to get it in.
We can get powdered supplements of ashitaba similar to how you could source out moringa powder. Most of us don’t have access to moringa fresh or in it’s whole form, so the powders are also a fantastic way.
In Closing
Check out ashitaba. Like I said, I love it. I am starting to incorporate some powders on a regular basis, not just when I’m traveling. When I’m traveling for sure, I’ll take greens powders with me. But sometimes on any given day at home, I also like to mix them with water.
I have so much respect for certain botanicals that we’re not getting in the whole form and they’re just so concentrated in nourishment and rejuvenative properties. I want them in my life and I would love for you to have them in your life as well, which is why I like to share the ones I’m really, really passionate about.
Again, check out ashitaba. So high in minerals, antioxidants, and nutrients. It has those qualities to help us rejuvenate and overturn our cells. Ashitaba also keeps us really healthy, energized and really boosts our vitality.
I hope this was helpful. Check out some of the links in the transcript if you’re interested in sourcing. You can simply just make a tea with ashitaba or just mix some ashitaba powder with water or to even throw a little bit in your GGS.
It’s also a great thing to take while you travel!
So hope this was helpful Beauties. I will see you back here soon.
Sending you lots of love.
Kimberly
Ashitaba is fairly easy to grow in the garden. I juice the leaves or eat them raw. Moringa is also very easy to grow. I have 9 trees in my yard. Baker Creek seeds now carry dwarf moringa seeds you can grow in pots!
Thanks for sharing Diana – sounds like you are having great success with your garden. Keep up the great work and sending you lots of love! ;)
I am taking care of a man who had an endoscopy due to a bleeding ulcer. He also has high blood pressure and is on medication for this. Can he benefit from Ashitaba? Are there other things that I should be incorporating into his diet?
Please advise.
Thank-you,
Jean
Hi Jean – Thanks so much for your question. As with any health issues, I strongly encourage you to chat with his health care practitioner to ensure he’s getting the right nutrients for his health concerns (especially when your patient is taking other medications). The Beauty Detox lifestyle is an excellent way to source amazing nutrients and implement a healthier lifestyle, for sure. However, I would mention Beauty Detox to his doctor so he can provide an educated opinion. Let us know the results and keep up the great work in taking care of yourself, and others! ;)
