The body can direct us in certain ways, like when we’re listening to our gut, it can guide our decisions and take us through life. And then we can actually create healing energy. We can support the energy of the body in these different practices, which is so powerful when our bodies are clear.
When our bodies are flexible and open, it allows our minds to be more flexible and open for us to be more receptive to intuition. We are open to healthier foods. Everything just feels more easeful and powerful when our bodies are really supported. And one way in which we support our bodies is with healthy food. Bodies are constantly in a dynamic state. And beyond that, working on this level of energy on the body can take on many different forms from acupuncture to some of the other modalities we’re talking about today, introducing a whole other way of support and energy flow and healing.

Namaste loves and welcome back to our Thursday Q&A podcast where our topic this week is Types Of Healing Energy for The Body: Which One is Right For You?And I really love, love, love this topic. This is a big one for all of us. Um, the way that these cornerstones work is everything works together. Food, body, emotional, wellbeing, spiritual growth. And so we rotate around the cornerstones. And what I’ve come to realize, especially in the last few years, is that there’s so much wisdom on the level of the body. The body gives us messages. The body can direct us in certain ways, like when we’re listening to our gut, it can guide our decisions. It takes us through life. And so we can actually create healing energy. We can support the energy of the body in these different practices, which we’re gonna talk about today, which is so powerful when our bodies are clear.
When our bodies are flexible and open. It allows our minds to be more flexible, to be more open, for us to be more receptive to intuition. And so we get we self guide, um, in a much more powerful way. We are open to healthier foods. Everything just feels more easeful and powerful <laugh> when our bodies are, um, really supported. And so one way is one way in which we support our bodies, of course, with healthy food, which we all know. And that was our, um, a lot of us, our pathway into healing and wellness. I know it was for me, food because it’s physical and you can pick it up and you could smell it and you could taste it and you could touch it. So of course, healthy food down on the cellular level is helping to rebuild and reconstruct our bodies every day.
Bodies are in constantly a dynamic state. But beyond that, working on this level of energy on the body, which, you know, can take on many different forms from acupuncture to some of the other modalities we’re talking about today, introduces a whole, um, other way of support and energy flow and healing. And it’s very important.This is one of the reasons that, uh, the riah practices of avedo, which are known as the rejuvenative practices, start with self massage. It starts with Aiona. Naru Veda firmly teaches that working on this level with the nervous system, physical touch of the body’s energy, does reset many different systems in your body. It supports many different systems, including your endocrine system, very delicate glandular system or hormones. Our immune system comes from touch, it comes from it’s supported by energy, right?

So I wanna read you a quote from, um, the new book before we get into this topic today. This is from page 149 in the chapter. You Are A Powerhouse. “Everything is energy, and less energy means less life force less overall; it means less rejuvenation; it means less renewal. You’re like a car tire with a tiny hole in it. You can keep filling it up with air, but the tire won’t stop deflating until you plug that hole”. So when it comes to energy in the body, we wanna see ourselves in this way where we wanna keep rejuvenating ourselves, noticing these little leaks that can take place and our body’s energy. Now again, it could take place across different cornerstones. Maybe we’re in a toxic relationship, maybe we’re eating really toxic food all the time. But with our bodies, if we’re constantly aching and sore, if we’re constantly walking around with our shoulders hunched, that’s an energy leak. We’re giving a percentage of our energy all the time to tight muscles.

Which one is right for you? So our, our question today comes from Charlotte, who lives in Texas, and she writes, I have a very busy life and I find that I am stressed out all the time and my body keeps breaking down. A friend of mine was talking about how energy healing helped her. What are your thoughts on it? So thank you so much, Charlotte, for your notes, for your question. I appreciate it so much. And it is important that we continue to lean on each other for support, because we wanna share what helps, what works. That’s why we’re here. And so many of us, Charlotte, do feel stressed out a lot of the time. And of course, our body is giving us that message. If we ignore it mentally, we’re not doing anything about it in our lives, our bodies are gonna take that hit.
And so when we’re feeling this just enormous pain in the lower back, or we’re noticing that we’re constantly tight in our abdomen, we’re bloated, or we notice, um, you know, whatever’s going on in our body, our hair’s falling out. These are signs that we need to pay attention to, that we need extra support. We need to shift our lifestyle in some way. So thank you, my love for bringing this to light and sending you big love in Texas, wherever you happen to be. Energy healing is this idea, it’s this process of restoring energy and balance into your field of energy. This is based on the interconnectedness of all of life. This is based on the idea that energy is running through all things. So at a certain point there was a belief that things were separate. And this is, you know, classical Newtonian physics, measuring a distance, measuring, you know, between this object and this object and seeing that there’s space, empty space in between.
But what happened along the way was a different f different fields have come up and emerged many different fields. We have some amazing podcasts, um, linking or about this interconnected energy, which, uh, we will link to in the show notes. Quantum physics came to show actually there’s electron transfer between, you know, when you shake someone’s hand or when objects are touching, things aren’t hard and fast. There’s a field of energy that’s divine intelligence, creative intelligence, higher intelligence, whatever you wanna say, that runs through everything and everyone. And so what energy healing is about is just helping to restore our fields, the energies around in and around our bodies. So there are chakras, which are energy, energy centers don’t just stop internally. They are on your spine, they start there, but they emanate out into the space around you, known as your oric field. Um, just energy is all around.
And this isn’t woo woo, There’s so much incredible, um, research physics. You can check out the book Quantum Enigma, which is one of the quantum physics books that I like to read about quantum mechanics, if you’re interested in going deeper into the science around this. But what ultimately matters is, does it work? Does it help you feel better? And so I invite you as we go through some of these different modalities now in a moment, to, to experience this more for yourself. And this is something that Paramahansa Yogananda always encouraged. It was the great yoga guru who brought yoga here to the west. He never asked us to follow things blindly and to follow Korea yoga and the type of yoga and meditation he was teaching blindly. He said, Experiment in your own body. Try these techniques. And if you notice a benefit, if it’s working for you, that is the proof.
That is direct experience is the real proof because the problem in the western world and with, you know, everything wanting to be backed by science, we have to also understand that there’s different levels of science, there’s different kinds of science. The human mind is by default already inherently limited. We don’t have information about everything. So we want to also use filter modalities through direct experience. There was a time where acupuncture was frowned upon or laughed at, Oh, these little needles, what is this doing? But now acupuncture is widely recognized and studied with western science as being very, um, effective in pain management and many other uses of acupuncture. Whereas in the past it was not accepted. So we’re gonna go through a list now of different ways of working with your bodies, energy and specific modalities. And I encourage you if any of these modalities, um, sort of rises up and you connect with it, or you’re like, Oh, that’s really interesting, I encourage you to explore it because there may be a reason that you are drawn to something and so you can explore it and see if it can help you and what’s going on in your particular body.
So remember, our bodies are sensitive, our bodies are dynamic, They’re always moving. Our bodies are affected by unseen forces like our emotions, our thoughts, stress that we hold in the mind based on circumstances. Also electromagnetic forces, toxins. There’s so much that our bodies have to contend with. So we wanna support our bodies, energy fields in different ways. So why don’t we start with acupuncture because I’ve mentioned it several time. So acupuncture is using energy pathways called meridians to restore balance and harmony. The idea is that these specific needles can unblock, stagnation and restore the flow of health and wellness. I have personally used acupuncture to help speed up labor. Um, when Buffy was, you know, going into 42 weeks still pregnant. I’ve used it for hip pain and back pain. I’ve used it just in a general way in the spring to sort of enliven energy.
And I love acupuncture. I don’t get it super often, but if I was in chronic pain, it would be one of the modalities I certainly would turn to. I believe in it. I think you wanna find a great practitioner that’s recommended because just like anything like massage therapy now or yoga teachers, not everyone’s considered, um, the same, right? We connect with different people in different energies. <laugh>. So the person administering the treatment is, you know, I would say just as important as the treatment itself because they’re bringing their energy into it. So I highly recommend you look into acupuncture for overall balance, opening up the energy fields. Um, in a similar way, Reiki is a technique for using universal energy. So this is where, um, energy’s flowing through the hands and there’s symbols, there’s different levels of reiki. But the idea is that we’re tuning into universal source energy and it’s coming through that practitioner and through their hands.
I am actually a reiki practitioner myself. I did my reiki training in India and I can say that I am very sensitive to energy and I can feel it when I’m giving reiki to someone and people can actually feel it. It feels like a pulsing energy. There’s heat. It feels very good, it feels very soothing. So I don’t know how much western research they’ve done on reiki yet. I know that I believe 15% or more of hospitals offer reiki. Now this is research that I had found back when I was doing the Radical Beauty book with Deepak Chopra, but it’s actually used in places like the Cleveland Clinic and the Boston Children’s Hospital, I believe. So reiki is becoming more mainstream, more western, but it’s, you have to get special training to open up these pathways of the energy, so to speak. So you go to someone who’s a reiki practitioner, and again, just, um, it’s used for pain management, it’s used for general healing.
If there’s a part of your body that feels, um, on different levels, it could be on the bone level, blood level, wherever that it needs extra support. You can also try reiki energy healing if that calls to you. Now there’s also reflexology, which is based on interconnectedness in the body, that there’s different pressure points. So your feet and also your hands and a reflexologist can press on these different organs or press on these different points to correspond to different organs in your body to open up blood flow, circulation, many different things. So that’s, that may be something that you’re drawn to. Now, something that’s also increasingly popular is sound healing. So, you know, in your town or around, you may have heard of sound baths where you go into a room and um, the healer is playing chimes, gongs, different frequencies. And so the belief is that frequency is energy, sound is healing. And so these instruments, these sound makers, so to speak, the gongs were deeper. The chimes for higher chakras generally believed they can just help restore, um, different frequencies. I actually have this little bell that is from the Hindu monastery in Hawaii that I wanna ring for you.
So bells have been used in temples for thousands of years. And the idea again, like at this monastery, you’re meant to ring the bell when you enter. And it’s just said to help reset your body, right? And I know when I, I listen to this bell, I ding it when I come down here in the morning and I just listen to it go through again the human mind. We don’t understand everything. And I think this is important. Part of energy healing is this humility, this surrender to, there are higher forces at play, but if we can feel, oh, there is something to sound healing, there is something I feel really relaxed after a sound bath or I feel reset after ringing a bell. We don’t wanna ignore this, these inner messages, the intuition because the headiness and the mind and the brain does not, again, always understand everything.
So another form of energy healing is working with crystals. And crystals have been something that I love. First of all, I think they’re beautiful. I keep them all around my house. But crystals are said to be especially clear courts, which is a very powerful crystal. And we have some incredible offerings coming out for you soon where I teach you how to work with clear courts because it is the one crystal that you can program with your specific intentions. So please keep an eye out for that coming very soon. It’s gonna be a whole kit where I teach you how to work with a crystal and how to how it can hold your intention. And this is something that I’ve done in my own life because crystals have a stable unchanging pattern. So unlike our bodies and our fascia, for instance, which clear quarts has said to emulate, which gets disrupted from sugar stress again, electromagnetic frequencies, toxins in the water, whatever it is, the crystal shape is pure.
And so, um, it’s believed that keeping crystals in your space, just keep the frequency, the energy in your space, really clean, really clear. You can also wear crystals on your body to help restore some of that really clear energy. So that may be something that you’re drawn to as well. And also in combination of other things, like I said, I keep crystals around. I like to hold them, I like to wear them, certainly I use them with intention, but at the same time, I still need to get acupuncture sometimes. And I’m doing reiki on myself and others as well. So now there’s another type of healing called chronic healing. And this is where you can use this type of therapy to cleanse, um, cleanse energy in your body. There is someone called master, um, Cho coke Suey, I’m saying that right. And we did a podcast with him a long time ago here, which we will link to.
And so this is just again, using hands, using our breath, using specific rhythms to work with energy in the body. Prana is life force energy. This is a term in Sanskrit, this is what the yogis talked about, the ancient, you know, in ancient terms, the life force that is in us and around us. So if you’re interested in chronic healing and where we can restore this flow, you can look up, uh, various practitioners in your area or learn more about it and specifically. And then lastly, I wanna bring up ecstatic dance or freeform movement. Our bodies hold a lot of energy and so if we allow ourselves to dance and you can go to a class or you could just do this at home, honestly, sometimes I just roll out my yoga mat and I just allow my body to move organically. We don’t worry about what it looks like <laugh>, we don’t worry about the shape.
We’re not doing this to, you know, get outer validation from other people. It could start with just like shaking your hands, just letting your hips move in different ways. Sometimes I get down in the fetal position, I need to get down to the earth. Sometimes I just need to get a lot of energy or frustration out. I’m shaking my arms, your body will know what to do. So anytime you can just allow space for movement, call it dance, call it something else, just movement is what I like to say. Cuz it doesn’t always look like dancing. Your body can work energy out on a physical level. So this has been for me, one of the most profound healing mechanisms. You don’t need someone outside of yourself, you don’t need a practitioner. This is really going deep into your own body’s wisdom. Create some space for movement outside or in a room where there isn’t a lot of obstruction with furniture.
Again, I like to roll out a yoga mat cuz sometimes I like to get down on the ground. Sometimes you could use music that feels inspiring to you at that moment. It could be fast, it could be wordless, it could be instrumental, it could be mantras or no music. Sometimes you need to make sounds, but just allowing energy to move through your body, which a lot of us in the western world have not been taught. We’ve not been allowed to have this space and this is healing, this is getting things out. I just had a little session in Hawaii, why, where I needed like, it was something that felt like some old stuff was coming out. So I just got outside, I got down on the grass, you know, <laugh>, it’s like they saw me, they would’ve thought I was like a crazy person, but I was just moving around at one point I was on the ground and then I just kind of got up and I was shaking my arms a bit.
And I’ll tell you three minutes of doing that, I felt so clear. I felt so calm, <laugh>, and I felt so peaceful. There was just something in the body. And we know this from doing colon cleansing. I’ve done a lot of colon colons in the past, just moving energy out. Sometimes emotional energy, mental energy comes up because we’ve done a detox. So something in there just got retriggered or got brought to the surface. Again, we do not know everything about energy. So this is not everything your mind will understand on a mind intellectual, academic level. But if you tune in more and more into your body, you will, if you’re willing to do that. There is so much wisdom in there and this is what I really learned over the years. There is healing available to you. Profound healing on this level where it’s wordless.
It’s not just talk therapy, it’s not just doing a standard yoga class. Sometimes we really need to allow for freeform movement. We need shaking it out. We go to our crystals, we go to um, you know, even Tai Chi or Chiang can, you know, if you’re interested in taking a freeform class and you do some of those movements just to inspire you, you get acupuncture. I really do encourage you to think about some of these modalities sound healing, anything that may come up for you inspiring you from this podcast because this could be a whole other level of healing for you, which could be amazing for your body, amazing for your energy as it has been on my personal healing journey, which is why I’m so passionate about sharing about this.
