3 Minute De-bloating Turmeric Lemonade

With summer in full swing we all want to feel light and amazing!! It’s certainly not the time to feel bloated…even when we are out and about at BBQ’s and other social gatherings. My 3 Minute De-bloating Turmeric Lemonade Elixir Recipe will combat those bloating-blues and keep you hydrated and feeling fresh :).

Do the best you can Beauties, and make whatever adjustments you need to ensure you are nourishing your body with only the best ingredients that will contribute to less congestion and less bloating!

What Causes Bloating?

Simply put: bloating is really a long-term issue for many of us, and unfortunately there are no quick fixes. However, there are things you can do to help reduce the issue from chronically occurring over time. I speak from personal experience.

I used to be and feel bloated all the time. When I took an honest look at my eating and overall lifestyle habits, it was very pro-bloating. It included drinking beer, eating dairy and involved the poor habit of bad food combinations. This was happening on a daily basis, which only made matters worse.

If you’re currently experiencing bloating, you’ll need to make changes, and pronto! Indigestion, water retention and hormones are some of the leading causes of this uncomfortable experience. So what changes must we make?

Through our food choices (among other tips that you can find in my books and blogs)! You can be guaranteed that the recipes I create for you are tried, tested and reviewed. I ensure they are properly food combined and packed with only the best beauty foods. In turn, these will aid your body through it’s natural processes.

This recipe is no different. Let’s check out a couple of the ingredients to see how this drink packs a punch when it comes to ridding our bodies of the bloat!

The De-Bloating Power of Turmeric

Recent research suggests that curcumin may provide a well-tolerated and effective treatment for inflammatory bowels and assisting in improved liver function. Both of which aid is capturing and removing toxins and eliminating them from our bodies. These steps are crucial in keeping the bloat at bay!

Its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-microbial properties protect the stomach lining and reduce the occurrence of gastric diseases. In addition, due to its hot potency, turmeric serves as anti-flatulent, digestive and stimulant. When we keep our insides clean, our beauty and radiance can shine on the outside!

The list of healing powers attributed to turmeric can go on for days! One of its main roles is in its ability to preserve youthfulness and beauty. Curcumin and other components in turmeric slow cellular aging by capturing free radicals that cause DNA damage and is also a powerful ant-inflammatory agent.

Adding turmeric to our diets will contribute to making our skin glowing and beautiful!

How Lemons Have Cleansing Power

You know I’m an avid promoter of getting in our hot water with lemon and adding fresh lemon juice to our Glowing Green Smoothie®. This is because it truly does maximize the cleansing process. Refreshing our bodies throughout, recharging your energy and helping to de-stress our gut.

Lemon juice’s atomic structure is similar to the digestive juices found in the stomach. It helps to keep food moving through your body and ultimately assisting with the digestion and detoxing process. Hence, the optimal cleanse!

When your body digests food, we want it to process all the good stuff as slowly as possible. This is to encourage our body to keep insulin levels steady so that more nutrients can then come out of the foods you consume. Pretty cool, right?!

The acids found in lemon juice contribute to this drawn-out process for better nutrient absorption and less bloating, making things a bit easier for our bodies.

Using fresh lemon benefits the enzyme functions in your body, which then stimulates the liver and flushes out toxins.

Lemon juice is considered a mild diuretic, helping to get rid of any unwanted elements and really giving your body the boost it needs to detox the body, hair and skin.

You can see why I can’t live without my lemons and add it to just about everything! This goes for today’s amazingly delicious lemonade.

Prepare ingredients.

3 Minute De-bloating Turmeric Lemonade

First, add the filtered water into the blender.

3 Minute De-bloating Turmeric Lemonade

Second, the fresh lemon juice.

3 Minute De-bloating Turmeric Lemonade

Third, the coconut nectar.

Blend (or you may add all of the ingredients into a large mason jar) and blend (or stir), until well combined. That’s it. Enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 organic lemons juiced
  • ¾ tsp. powdered turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger grated
  • 2 Tbsp. coconut nectar or pure maple syrup
  • 6 cups filtered water

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a blender (or large mason jar) and blend (or stir), until well combined.
  • Enjoy!

    Love this recipe, thank you! Why do you recommend powdered turmeric, in stead of fresh? I always try to use fresh, is that (in this case) less good for your health?
