Our intention is to pay it forward in sharing only the best tips, tools and beauty ingredients to help us all achieve our glowing best. Let’s be sure we pass it on and continue focusing on achieving and maintaining overall health and wellness!
Healthy Glow From The Inside Out
Glowing skin is about using the right kind of products and how we create healthy energy and cells from the inside out! Diet and lifestyle all work together to help you reach your ultimate potential for amazing radiance.
Dull, dehydrated, under-nourished skin needs nourishment on many levels. Including the right nutrients, which will help your skin will look alive and gorgeous. Sure, makeup is fun to use and play with, but it doesn’t hide what you’ve been eating!! That inevitable comes through on your skin.
A great bonus is, you won’t be spending so much on those highlighting products once you master this part. This is because you won’t need them anymore! How amazing is that?!
Remember, too much makeup is clogging. It’s of course okay to wear some makeup (and at events I certainly wear foundation and the whole gamut!), but day to day it’s so incredibly empowering to feel okay going out into the world virtually bare-faced. And also helps us avoid tons of unhealthy products!
Three things to focus on when you’re working toward getting glowing, gorgeous skin that looks as if it’s lit from within are:
- Putting the right nutrients in with the foods we choose
- Pulling toxins out
- Hydration
That’s an easy enough formula, wouldn’t you say? I know you can master it too, so let’s do it together!
And if you want that extra boost to remove toxins and get a jump-start on glowing skin, CLICK HERE!
While your overall diet will affect your skin, I’m going to review one specific food that can give your skin that extra love and attention. And in case you’d like to learn more, I cover many other foods in the skin section of The Beauty Detox Foods book.
How Kale Has Positive Effects On Your Skin
With The Beauty Detox Foods, kale is an incredible beauty superfood that is one of my personal favorites. Packed with phytochemicals, fiber and chlorophyll — a major blood builder — which helps promote glowing skin and many other beauty benefits.
And in case you hadn’t heard, healthy blood is a primary building block for beauty!
Though it’s been ingrained in us to associate protein with animal protein, it’s easy to forget how much protein we gain from plants. And kale is especially high in plant protein. What does this have to do with our skin?
Well, what’s so great about plant protein is that it’s easy to digest and assimilate which helps to build healthy and strong muscles, hair and of course, SKIN. It is much more easy on our system than animal protein, which unfortunately contains tons of toxins.
When we remove these hard to digest foods from our diets, this will make digestion easier on our guts and ultimately, help to break down the nutrients. The end result? Our skin and whole body will benefit!
Adding lacinato kale into the mix, is a very wise choice we can make when rotating our greens. In addition, you will gain added benefits with all the other ingredients in this dish. From the hydrating tomatoes and cukes, to the cleansing lemon and healthy fats from the avocado and hemp seeds— your skin will be soft, supple and irresistible to touch!
Let’s check out this simple and beautifying recipe, shall we! ????

Hi Beauty! I feed Lil Bub a plant-based diet – he loves protein smoothies, avocado wraps and snacking on raw veggies! I have a lot of resources on my blog about raising kids on a plant-based diet. Here’s a podcast that might be helpful! https://mysolluna.com/blog/2016/05/05/tips-for-raising-plant-based-children-bio-podcast-ep-56/
Hi, just wanted to know your take on nightshades vegetables. I see you advocate using tomatoes and peppers which are two on the list.
Thanks.
