It seriously makes me feel all giddy inside. The combination of naturally sweet strawberries, vibrant limes, and creamy coconut might just be my new favorite! Try this simple to make smoothie for yourself and you’ll be singing this little jingle in no time. 🙂
Smoothies, Not Sugar
Time and time again we all can get hit with a little sweet tooth. One of my favorite ways to curb this is with a fruit-filled smoothie. It is by far much better than reaching for the sugary foods. Refined sugar is one of the most toxic foods you can eat. Studies have even shown that sugar is more addictive than cocaine. Crazy, right!?
Sugary foods wreak havoc on our bodies and our beauty. Once you start eating refined sugars your taste buds quickly get accustomed to them. This is one reason why sugar cravings get stronger over time. Refined sugary foods actually bind with proteins and fats in your body. This then causes cellular free-radical damage.
If you eat refined sugary foods then be prepared to say hello to those unwanted wrinkles and stiff skin. Rather than putting your beauty in the background, whip up this naturally sweet Strawberry Lime Coconut Smoothie. Once you see all the benefits these ingredients offer your beauty, the decision on how to curb your sweet tooth will be a no brainer. 🙂
For a topical beauty treat, you definitely want to try out my Feel Good Cleanser. This is a pH-balanced, plant-based skincare formula. It provides deep, powerful cleansing without stripping the skin of its natural oils. Your skin will be feeling fresh, clean, and comfortable in no time. Do you know what daily exposure to harmful pollutants and free radicals does? It causes stress and ages the skin beyond our years! This powerful, anti-aging formula is your secret weapon against toxins and sun damage.
Let me get straight to it. I believe strawberries are a godsend to this earth. While I look at them growing in my garden, they shine like a beautiful jewel that I can’t help but gravitate towards. Even Lil’ Bub feels their magnificent pull.
Every spring I am sure to plant these treasured gifts in my garden for us to enjoy. Being so tasty, we often consume the majority of them right after we pick them. I had to use some self control to save this last batch for my Strawberry Lime Coconut Smoothie recipe. If you are not able to grow your own strawberries, be sure to only purchase organic varieties. They have consistently been a top Dirty Dozen produce item on the Environmental Working Group list! Plus organic strawberries taste so much better 😉
One of my all-time favorite beauty foods are strawberries and for so many good reasons! For starters, strawberries contain vitamin C, salicylic acid and antioxidants. And if you haven’t heard, these are all the things we want to consume in order to help brighten our skin and to tighten up our pores. You can think of this powerful trio as helping to make our skin look all-around more youthful.
Not only that, but this Strawberry Lime Coconut Smoothie also works like magic on our internal systems. Rich in nitrates, antioxidants and phytochemicals, strawberries can have their way with inflammation. Like little superheroes, they help promote blood flow and oxygen throughout the body, reducing inflammation. Thank you, strawberries!
One more secretly surprising reason I love strawberries is that they help keep our teeth healthy. Foods rich in vitamin C promote the growth of collagen throughout the whole body. This even goes for the connective tissue between your gums! Who would have thought that this Strawberry Lime Coconut Smoothie can actually brighten up your smile too!
Next up to highlight in this recipe is the humble lime. Not to be confused with a green lemon, limes most certainly hold a special place in my heart. Though I love lemons, limes really bring a unique and yummy twist to any recipe.
Often all you need is a little bit of lime to get that zesty flavor. This Strawberry Lime Coconut Smoothie recipe calls for the lime to be peeled. If you are a lime lover, you can also try throwing a little bit of the peel into the mix to truly make it pop. Just make sure you are using an organic variety if that is what you choose!
If you are looking for an immunity boost, grab yourself a lime. Like lemons, limes are a wonderful source of vitamin C. Also known as ascorbic acid, vitamin C helps our bodies absorb iron. And for those of us who are plant-based, we always want to make sure that we are absorbing all the iron that we can get! Lack of iron can wreak havoc on our body’s natural defense system. So it’s worth noting that before consuming an iron-rich dish, you may want to even consider a little lime in your water to help boost your absorption rate.
Another thing to consider about absorbing nutrients is how foods might be affecting your gut. As we get older, our ability to digest and assimilate macronutrients and eliminate waste becomes more difficult. My Feel Good SBO Probiotics are made with a unique and powerful formula. It contains prebiotics, postbiotics, and multiple probiotic strains of soil-based organisms (SBOs) that boost immunity, health, and wellness. Soil-based probiotics most closely reflect what would be found in nature, eating wild or unwashed organic food. Try them out today!
Last up that I must highlight before I let you get to your smoothie is the classy coconut fruit. During summer it is so important that we stay hydrated. Coconut is such a game-changer to the world of hydrations. If we are not adequately hydrated, our bodies struggle to balance fluid levels. Thankfully coconut offers loads of potassium, which is a powerful electrolyte that can keep our fluid levels in check. Coconut itself is also hydrating. So it basically offers a two for one kind of deal!
If you have been following my recipes for a while you will notice I use coconut quite often. With so many variations of coconut ingredients on the market, we are lucky to have it reaily available. Coconut water is delicious to enjoy straight, though for some it might be an acquired taste. You can always try blending it with some of your other favorite fruits to change it up. The important thing is that you get it in, some fashion or form.
Other ways to get in some coconut is with coconut oil, coconut milk, or even coconut shreds. These are a little higher in healthy fats, but that should not be of concern. The truth is, people who have been consuming coconuts for centuries have very little cardiovascular disease. Studies show that coconut oil, in particular, doesn’t adversely affect cholesterol levels. Rather it destroys both the bacteria and viruses associated with plaque build-up and heart issues. So don’t be scared of it as harmful to your health. Coconut is really more like the tree of life!
Now that you’ve read all the reasons why I love the ingredients in today’s Strawberry Lime Coconut Smoothie recipe I’ll let you get to it and try it for yourself.
Don’t forget to sing the little jingle while you are at it. I think it makes it taste that much better 🙂 Please also tag me in your Instagram posts and pin this recipe to your Pinterest board. The more we share healthy recipes with one another, the better we all are off.

This sounds amazing! How many servings does this recipe make (approximately) and how long can it be saved (is a 2nd serving still good the next day? Or should it all be enjoyed immediately after making?
Hi Kerrie – thanks for your great questions. This serves 1 and is best the first day, however, this smoothie will still be okay to drink the next day. I would throw it back into the blender as the ingredients will settle overnight. Let us know how you do and sending you lots of love! Xo
Going to do it , must make sure I make it with organic strawberries right ? 😁
Can you substitute the banana for avocado? Banana’s are a food trigger so I have to avoid them but this smoothie sounds delicious!
Hi Joy! Absolutely you can use avocado. The sweetness of the smoothie will be altered a bit, however, you can always add in your choice of healthy sweetener. Let us know how you do and sending you lots of love! Xo
